The Top Ten
1 Lionel Messi (Argentina) Lionel Andrés "Leo" Messi (born 24 June 1987) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club Barcelona. He is also known as one of the greatest football players of all time. He was born in Rosario, Argentina on June 24th, 1987.

When I think "own" Messi comes to mind.He was coached by Marradona.A goal isn't what makes a player good it's skill mad skill and heck Messi has the most.Kaka may be my favorite but Messi's the best.

It doesn't matter that he didn't score a goal, he builded up the attack and showed off his fantastic skills to the world.
I pleasure to watch.

Real master of the ball. I love Kaka very much but Lionel is the best player of 2010 World Cup

He is suitable for world cup because his skils are impossible

He inspired me to play football with his pure admirable skills

he is my favorite player and he the reason why I play soccer

Just love him, the best player ever

4 Lukas Podolski (Germany)

The only one German player I like

5 Zlatan Ibrahimović (Sweden) Zlatan Ibrahimović (3 October 1981) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays for an Italian club AC Milan and the Sweden national team for which he is captain.

He is 1 of the best soccer players ever. He is the only thing that keeps Sweden alive

8 Wayne Rooney (England) Wayne Mark Rooney is an English professional footballer who plays for and captains both Manchester United and the England national team.

I'm sorry I thought you said best players from the 2010 world cup, this list isn't accurate whatsoever, you got messi at #1 which he did not scoreonce. you got donovan who lost to Ghana in the first round. Where Mueller, Villa, Forlan, tevez, Robihno, Sneijder... just sayin

They made it but it was a nail biter. Must try harder.

9 Fernando Torres (Spain)

el nino is the best and will always be! no doubt about that! go torres

He has very serious trauma but still plays very well

You can't forget the best striker in the world!

10 Wesley Sneijder (Netherlands) Wesley Sneijder is a Dutch professional footballer who plays for Turkish club Galatasaray and the Netherlands national team.

this guy got the silver ball and got to the final and why the heck is messi is on this list he did not even score Wesley Sneijder is obviously the best player in the 2010 FIFA World Cup

why the heck is Lionel Messi at the top of this list he shouldn't even be on the top ten he didn't even score it should be Sneijder 1st, mueller 2nd, forlan 3rd, and messi 43rd

He got robbed of the Golden Ball afterwards and everybody tends to forget that.

He helped the Netherlands get to the world cup final! He deserves the top 10!

The Contenders
11 Diego Forlan (Uruguay)

Diego should be number 1, Messi scored no goals in the world cup, Messi is horrible in his international team. He is only good because of Barcelona and the players he has next to him

He is very underrated and in this world cup, he opened the eyes of many people to his impressive shots and precise lob passes.

Excellent player with very good speed and ball control.
Eye catching skills and very powerfull shots.

Was a god in the world cup, if he had been like the all the time he would be better than messi.

12 Landon Donovan (USA)

messi drogba and kaka should be after donavan

Great goal to break the tie vs algeria.

great job he did out there

13 Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast) Didier Yves Drogba Tébily is an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Canadian Major League Soccer club Montreal Impact.

Great job although they didn't make round 2. I give him a 9.5.

Drogba is number one and he is better than Messi but not C. ronoldo

14 Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon) Samuel Eto'o Fils is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Turkish club Antalyaspor.
15 David Villa (Spain) David Villa Sánchez is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a striker and also serves as captain for New York City FC in Major League Soccer.

What? What's wrong with you guys? Donovan, Altidore, Drogba, Wood etc are over Villa. There is something wrong with this list

he was one of the few otherwise many legends of football who actually made his presence felt.

16 Bastian Schweinsteiger (Germany) Bastian Schweinsteiger is a retired German professional footballer who usually played as a central midfielder.
17 Thomas Mueller (Germany)

He pops out of nowhere and there you go a GOAL!
Amazing player with very good stamina and great accuracy.

18 Jozy Altidore (USA)

Terrific start I give him a ten in sportsmanship.

19 Chicharito (Mexico)

Well all this guy he has is speed but did you see that no angle goal he had against Argentina? The keeper had no chance to save the ball!

20 Luis Suarez (Uruguay) Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz (born 24 January 1987) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid and the Uruguay national team as a striker.

I became a huge Uruguay fan thanks to Suarez.
Brilliant master of the ball

21 Sergio Ramos (Spain) Sergio Ramos García is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Real Madrid and the Spain national football team.
22 Miroslav Klose (Germany) Miroslav Josef Klose is a German professional footballer who last played as a striker for Serie A club Lazio.
23 Chris Wood (New Zealand)

The first to cup goals in history but could not pull it out.
