The Contenders: Page 3
Ever since they sold out, Maroon 5 has just gotten worse and worse. They've also gotten blander and blander. Animals was one of the worst songs from 2014. It was nothing but a serial killer's fantasy. Those that think the whole "hunting you down" thing is romantic are the same people that like Twilight.
I used to like Maroon 5. Songs About Jane is a fantastic album, and I like al lot of the songs on Overexposed, but most of this album was pretty crap, especially this song. They used to be able to write something more meaningful than sexual metaphors, but apparently they can't anymore.
Love this song. Maroon 5 should be more popular than Taylor Swift
I do have a guilty pleasure for this song...My profound apologies, world!V 114 Comments
I instantly liked it when I first heard it on television. This song is great. The vocals are amazing. I like that she pulls off a stressed syllable. - madoog
Why are all the Demi Lovato songs at 40th/ 100th and 107th place and she can actually sing but Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are much higher and Taylor is a decent singer but Selena is not very good
Reminds me of a Dairy Queen commercial.
Not one of Demi's best songs... - slimshady901V 11 Comments
Should be in the top 10, its just absolutely wonderful - SomePeopleHaveRealProblemsV 2 Comments
This song just keeps getting better and better every time I listen to it, which is saying something because it is severely overplayed. There's almost no flaws in this. The beat is incredible, the Remy Boyz's guest verses are incredible, and the chorus is incredible.
In particular, this song does two things to appeal to me. First off, right after Fetty Wap says "I got this sewed up" one of the best things ever happens: HE PULLS OFF TONE BLENDING. He's probably the first person to do so. Next, after all the rap songs depicting emotionless relationships, and all the pop songs about breakups, it's nice to hear about an energetic, happy relationship that's genuinely going well.
I give this song a 4/5, and when combined with Stitches getting deducted a point, it evens out my overall score of the year back to 197/500. - WonkeyDude98
This song was a hit. This song deserved airplay. It was nice to hear it on the radio and see it on Billboard. This song should be a bit higher on this list. The song is good. The sounds are nice. Just listen to it. - madoog
Come on who doesn't like fetty!? He is my bae
All I have to say is no, just no - slimshady901V 4 Comments
I don't hate this song as much as others, but...I don't like it. The production is kind of weak, Shawn Mendes' falsetto is waay too thick, and the lyrics are broadly about a painful breakup. What makes it worse is his delivery isn't earnest enough to make up for the fact that a lot of the lyrics are over-the-top.
That said, I think Mendes is a decent singer and the lyrics can be treated as such. I give a strong 2/5. - WonkeyDude98
I listened to this song before it got popular. I showed it to my friends and they thought it was weird and they hated it. Guess whose singing it now? I've always loved this song I love Shawn mendes!
Don't be so hateful self destruct I like this song and 2 others agree with me and none with you take a look and you'll see why
It's also blatantly obvious that he's the only person thumbing down our comments. - TheEvilNuggetCookie
Whenever I hear this song I think of the parody by Rucka Rucka - slimshady901V 78 Comments
Brilliant song. The mixture of heavy, symphonic & progressive metal is a joy to listen to and its slightly melancholic sound captures the tragedy of R101 airship crash with poignancy and reverence, all of which creates a song which is equally haunting and beautiful. Meanwhile, it works very well because it's the most ambitious Maiden have arguably been in their careers (and inarguably fair more ambitious than most pop musicians half their age), and the new elements (particularly the orchestral one) being welcome additions to their sound. What could have been an extravagant folly turns into something truly classic and not only the best song of the album, but also of 2015 and arguably Maiden's career. If only most music these days was this good. - Mrveteran
What. This is an amazing song that actually is about something and not about a sappy love story or partying. This deserves to be in the top 10 or at least the top 20 songs of 2015. This just goes to show how dumb mainstream music is and how talentless and boring it is now. And it is sad that people listen to the crap that is on the radio these days
The fact that this song is currently at number 40 bothers me. This needs to be at the top 20. I get that people like songs about breakups and love stories or parties but a single good song in the top 20 wouldn't kill.
How is any song in 2015 above an iron maiden songV 13 Comments
I'm surprised that this is actually this high (36 right now) on a website this terrible.V 3 Comments
Best song in the album, better album than last album. I hope muse be better next time
Way too low down in the list - not my favourite on the album, but bloody brilliant anyway.
Best song.. was tough to choose between this and psycho though.. the bridge/end is the best piece of muse-ic I've heard in a long while
Not as good as Reapers or The Handler but still greatV 5 Comments
No doubt this is the best video song of this year. - glambert
Exactly, the video and the song is awesome! Love watching the video - sryanbruen
I love his songs and especially this one gives me power. I live in Japan. And I go to Japanese school. But everyone around me knows his song. These days, I'm trying to be able to sing his song!
Deserving of a place in the top 10,for sure! I once listened to this song 9 times in a row. Personally I'd place it 8th.
Avicii's generic mainstream lyricism is back, but it's up a notch from Wake Me Up. - SwagFlicksV 35 Comments
Paul has nothing to prove to anybody in the entire world, except his grandchildren. This brings him into their world. Outside of that, the whole lot of them should not be allowed within 100 feet of Sir Paul.
This is an abomination. paul is a legend, how did he end up with these 2? How sad. - gemcloben
Well, I love Rihanna, I respect McCartney as a legend. But I hate Kanye. Well, after this music, I started to think that Kanye can sing.
Pretty good song, but Paul McCartney? ARE YOU DOING THERE MAN!V 80 Comments
I saw many votes and comments on this song and don't know why so I listened to the song and I knew why there was many people voting for this song
This song is one of the best should be the first with painkiller and immortalized
I came here to look for good songs so I saw the album artwork and searched for them and that song was dam good
There is some good music in 2015V 35 Comments
Love this song too...This Selena's song makes me relax and more clam
Selena the Queen's back to it again! And if you think the "Old Selena" was better then please catch up. She's 24 years old. She didn't turn into a hoe when she was younger. I support her new mature music better.
I love this song. Only because it is stuck in my head and I heard it on the radio.
Had no idea this was Selena Gomez when I first heard it. This is definitely not your Disney music.V 31 Comments
Earned It is a great song and quite relaxing in a way. His voice is perfect for this song. 2015 was a great year for The Weeknd. - madoog
This song is my shhh. This is perfect for when your significant other deserve a reward because they "Earned It"
Does anyone know why he is called 'The Weeknd' Is it supposed to be Weekend or something?

This song is kinda hilarious, but enjoyable. It is not too bad.
It took omi 7 years 2 write this song
This should be straight up number 1 people are crazy if they think this is dumb
I like the actual music but the singing and lyrics... - wowthisisstupidV 25 Comments
This song can make me so proud of papa roach but think jaccoby (lead singer) has a tre cool haircut from green dayV 1 Comment
This song sucks. She needs to shove a donut up her butthole (which is where the Scooby Doo part was performed) and shut up. I love her but I kind of think she's selling out...
YES it sounds like Problem. YES the chorus wasn't the best choice for this song. YES Ariana has made some mistakes within the past couple years, but this song actually isn't that bad when you come to think about it. I bet half of you guys only hate it because of the whole donut incident. If she never made those few mistakes this year, then I'm pretty sure not as many people would hate this song.
Besides... there are MUCH worse songs out there. I would be appalled if someone said this song is worse than "Dooo It" by Miley Cyrus.
This is above 100 by Travis Parker! I am ashamed. This song is puke inducing to be honest. - SelfDestruct
I love this song it is the best song ariana did in a whileV 174 Comments
Fantastic ballad from Madonna. She should make more songs like this
This entire album is stunning! It's a shame that radio did not play her because this album- Rebel Heart- is a a masterpiece. Ghost town is such a beautiful song and video.
This needs to be higher on the list, she needs to make a lot more songs like Ghosttown. - Catacorn
This song is amazing!V 18 Comments
This song deserves more recognition. This should have been the hit Fight Song was. This is inspirational music done right. For those who want to make girl power songs, please take notes from this song.
Love this song. I love the beat, the vocals, everything. I definitely recommend the song to anybody who has taste!
I totally agree this SHOULD have been the hit Fight Song was- better vocals, better video, better singer!
To be honest, I do not remember this song. It did not get the recognition and air play that Fight Song did. Fight Song was ok, but I feel radio overplayed it and now I never want to hear that song again.V 19 Comments
I like this song magnets because it's not much boring song
It's an electro-lover's dream...and Lorde is one of the few artists who actually has talent. Today's mainstream singers have about as much talent as my pug.
It's Lorde who completes it. It wouldn't be the same with any other artists. I mean, her sultry, salty voice and that bouncy electro beat...ah, wonder. 10/10V 6 Comments
