1 Black Panther T'Challa, better known as the Black Panther, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, first appearing in Fantastic Four #52 (cover-dated July 1966) in the Silver Age of Comic Books. He is known to be the first black superhero in mainstream American comics and hails from the fictional African country of Wakanda. The character has been portrayed by Chadwick Boseman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
