The Top TenXW

1Kubo and the Two Strings

So recently I went to see Kubo and the Two Strings. It's a movie from Laika Entertainment. The same company that made Coraline, Paranorman, and Boxtrolls. From the trailers, this movie looked like it would be good. When I saw it, it actually wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It was even better! I loved every minute of this movie! This is an absolutely amazing animated film! I've always loved stop motion animation! The movie is about a boy named Kubo who lives with his mother in a village. He has a magic guitar that can control paper and can make his origami creations come to life. He does this to entertain the villagers. One of them is voiced by George Takei by the way. Later on a spirit arrives and wreaks havoc on the village so it's up to Kubo to find his dead father's armor to defeat it. He even comes across a monkey named monkey and a beetle named beetle. There's something interesting we find out about them but I can't tell you because it's a spoiler. This movie is ...more - MegaSoulhero

2Spirited Away

I don't think I've ever met anyone who hates Studio Ghibli. I know there are people out there who do but I still have yet to meet someone who does. Spirited Away wouldn't have been made if it wasn't for the success of Princess Mononoke. I am so glad Miyazaki decided to make this film! This is the best Studio Ghibli film I have ever seen! This is such a brilliant movie and so beautiful! Basically, a girl named Chihiro who has parents that turned into pigs while visiting a creepy place with strange creatures. She then meets a boy named Haku who can turn into a dragon. She later meets a witch named Yubaba who gives her a job so she can live. Throughout the movie, Chihiro is trying to find out how she can get her parents back. This movie is very creative and well thought out. The animation is beautiful and the characters are very funny and interesting. My only problem is Chihiro is voiced by Daveigh Chase. So every time I hear her voice, I can't stop thinking about Lilo. I don't know why ...more - MegaSoulhero

I honestly think that no other Studio Ghibli movie can replace Spirited Away as my favorite anime movie in my books. Whenever I think of Hayao Miyazaki, this movie always comes to my mind in my head. Everything about the movie is beautiful from the story, the animation, and the wonderful themes that are present in the movie. - ModernSpongeBobSucks

The creativity, the story, the spirit, it's all too magical and whimsical and also very scary but it's also one of the best movies I've ever seen! - keycha1n

I've seen many movies better than this - Discord1

3How to Train Your Dragon 2

How to Train Your Dragon 2! HOW DID THIS NOT WIN AN OSCAR!?!? I like Big Hero 6 but this movie was much more deserving of winning! This movie is amazing, action packed, and very heart warming. This movie features hundreds of new dragons that Toothless and Hiccup find in an ice cave. They also manage to find Hiccup's mother! Her name is Valka, and she is totally gorgeous. Unlike the first movie, this one is actually more about the dragons rather than the characters. Each dragon has their own design and it looks really good! The villain is Drago and he is by far the best Dreamworks villain! He is very intimidating and is definitely seen as a threat. I really love seeing the relationship between Hiccup and his mother. It's just great seeing them bond knowing that they haven't seen each other in a long time. And of course the flying scenes are as amazing as ever! This is a perfect example of what a sequel should be. It takes the best parts of the first film and makes them even better. ...more - MegaSoulhero

4Toy Story
5The Incredibles

This movie is absolutely incredible! The Incredibles is definitely the best Pixar film ever made. And keep in mind, this is a Pixar movie. Not a Walt Disney Animation Studios movie. So it's allowed. This is the first Pixar film to consist entirely of people. And not toys or monsters or fish or bugs or cars or emotions. This movie has some very good action! I also find Syndrome to be a pretty good villain. By the way, Elastigirl is incredibly hot! Ever since I first saw this movie, I've been wanting Pixar to make a sequel. And it's finally getting one in 2019. Too late, Pixar! 15 years too late! Unfortunately before it comes out we are getting a Toy Story 4 and a Cars 3. Why a Cars 3? The first one is ok and the second is one of the worst animated films ever made! If Norm of the North and Foodfight didn't exist, it probably would be the worst! I'm exaggerating but whatever. Anyway, the Incredibles is an awesome movie and I look forward to seeing the sequel! - MegaSoulhero

This is such a great movie! The best 'fantastic 4' movie made. - eventer51314

6Kung Fu Panda 2

Who knew a movie called Kung Fu Panda could be so good!? I watched the first one and I thought it was pretty good. Kung Fu Panda 2, however, is even better! It is rare when we get sequels that are better than the original. After defeating Tai Lung in the first movie, Po and the Furious Five go after a villain by the name of Shen, and he is such an intimidating villain! He's voiced by Gary Oldman and he does such a fantastic job! We also have the original cast back. Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, David Cross, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, and Jackie Chan who barely has any dialogue in this franchise! The comedy in this movie is much funnier than in the first one. The fight sequences are also better. There are also some emotional scenes in this movie. This is my favorite movie in the franchise and one of Dreamworks's best films. - MegaSoulhero

7Inside Out

Just to be clear, Pixar movies ARE allowed on this list. Walt Disney Animation Studios movies are not. Inside Out is definitely one of Pixar's best films. However, more people are starting to hate it these days because of it's popularity. Just like Frozen. I mean, I don't see much of a reason for people to hate this film, aside from Joy being a jerk. This film shows the struggle of growing up. It does a really good job with at doing that. It also shows us that we don't have to keep our sadness in. Sometimes crying can help. I wish my dad knew that years ago. This is a very well done movie. I also cried a few times while watching it. No shame. - MegaSoulhero

8The Prince of Egypt

There can be miracles when you believe. I love the Prince of Egypt! It is so amazing! Absolutely underrated! It does a really good job of telling the story of Moses. A family of slaves wants to protect their baby so by doing that, they send him away floating in a river until the queen finds him and takes him in as her son. Naming him Moses. After Moses finds out who he really is, he leaves the kingdom and later comes back to his brother after consulting with God and he finds out that his brother is now the ruler. I watched this movie years ago but I was barely able to understand what was happening. I watched it again recently and I was blown away! The story is great and the visuals are gorgeous! This movie also has some of the best music I've hear in an animated film. Hans Zimmer is a genius! The only problem I have is the voice acting. Sometimes it's hard to not think of the actors recording their lines such as Sandra Bullock, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Patrick Stewart. Other ...more - MegaSoulhero

I love this movie! I remember when it first came out. I was like 6 and it blew my mind. The first notable Dreamworks movie. A great interpretation of the story of Moses! - eventer51314

9The Iron Giant

I was going to make a joke about the Iron Lady, but forget it. Surprisingly, Iron Giant was a box office bomb when it came out. But as time went on, more and more people started to love it and even claim it as one of the best animated films of all time! I've only seen this movie twice and I loved it both times! The movie is about a giant robot that comes to Earth and makes friends with a boy who teaches him how to be friendly. Unfortunately, the government wants to destroy it because it's dangerous. This movie is brilliant! You could totally see the connection between Hogarth and the giant. As the movie goes on, you really start to care for the giant because you know that he's not so bad after all. He's voiced by Vin Diesel. So Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy kind of shares some similarities with the giant. The ending of this movie kind of had me in tears but I won't say what happens because spoilers. I also really loved the animation! It is so smooth and the characters look ...more - MegaSoulhero

The Contenders

14An American Tail

Don Bluth is an animation genius! I remember watching this as a kid and really loving it. I still have the VHS. A mouse named Fievel gets lost at sea and gets separated from his family. So he must find them. This movie is very emotional. It also has some pretty good songs in it. The animation is brilliant and the voice acting is top notch! I definitely consider this to be Don Bluth's best movie. Although, I haven't seen Secret of Nimh yet. - MegaSoulhero
