Top Ten Artists Who Will Restore Your Faith In Modern Music

Lately, I've seen comments on this site and others stating that today's music is not worth listening to. Here are ten music artists of the 21st century who can pull their weight with the all-time greats. Ladies and gentlemen…
The Top Ten
1 Jackie Evancho Jacqueline Marie "Jackie" Evancho is an American classical crossover singer who gained wide recognition at an early age. Since 2009, she has issued an EP and eight albums, including a platinum and gold album, and three Billboard 200 top 10 debuts. Evancho's latest album 'The Debut', was her eighth consecutive release to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart. In 2017, Evancho performed the U.S. national anthem at the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump and became the youngest person ever to perform a concert series at Café Carlyle.

I'm listening to old music ( 50's,60's and 70's ) because they had better artists and better music than today's modern music and Jackie Evancho doesn't restore my faith in modern music ( okay, she's better than Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus etc... but she's certainly not better than artists of the 50's, 60's and 70's in music styles, attitudes and singing ). In other words plain and simple, I don't listen to modern music and Jackie Evancho isn't the artist who is convincing me or restore my faith for that.

Grew up on rock and roll and loved all different forms of it. Lately with the auto tune and screamers who had very little talent other than looks it was much harder to find good music. Then I ran across this girl and "Holy C**p " can she sing. The songs she sang early on were never my cup of tea. Didn't matter. This girl just has it.

Jackie definitely restored my faith in modern music.
For years I didn't bother with music, it had become self serving and shallow.
When I came across Jackie's singing, it was like rediscovering what music had meant to me earlier.

A little bit Barbra Streisand, a little bit Sarah Brightman, a little bit Celine Dion, just a dash of Kathleen Battle, and at age 18 has already had 7 consecutive albums hit #1 on the Billboard Classical Chart.

2 Moby Moby is an American musician, who has produced inventive new styles to various subgenres of electronic music, inspired by 1950's gospel as much as by modern rock, and musicians from New Order to David Bowie. ...read more.

After reading this list, I told myself "There's actually good music in this generation? What is wrong with this world?! We get all the lousy artists like Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj but not all of these people on this list? I mean why would you do this? Why bury The gem and dig up the turd? These are the kind of artists kids and grown ups have been searching forever. Kids and grown ups who have went on to live horrible lives. Kicking people in the balls."

This is a great list for everyone. Especially the mainstream crowd. I mean, come on people. We're missing out on some of the greatest artists ever. At least give them a shot.

He totally deserves a spot in top 5. But still I like Jackie Evancho more.

I agree with Eminem " Moby, you can get stoned Obie "

3 Deadmau5 Joel Thomas Zimmerman (a.k.a. deadmau5) is a Canadian DJ producer, formerly a web developer, who produces a wide variety of electronic musical genres, such as electro and dubstep, but is best known for popularizing work in the areas of progressive house and electrohouse, along with the genres themselves. Notable songs include Ghosts n' Stuff, I Remember, Raise Your Weapon, Strobe and Professional Griefers.

I'm waiting for an actual album to see if he still holds up. I love just about every album by him. W:/2016album/ was a pretty big let down. I've heard his stuff from the two Mau5vile do Eps, it was pretty good. Also Polaris is one of his best tracks. Hopefully though, we will get something equivalent to Album Title goes Here, or Random Album Title in the next year or so.

I love this guy. I Remember when I first listened to him. I loved Ghosts n Stuff, Alone with You. Lack of a Better Name, I love it all!

One of my favorite DJs. he will always restore my faith in modern music. His song Polaris is probably the best song of 2017.

Its Amazing No humanoid can ever say no to it

4 Massive Attack Massive Attack are an electronic music duo from Bristol, England, who use distorted, psychedelic, dynamic atmospheres as a definitive style of their music. They are noted as one of the most influential acts in electronic music to date, whose musical style was claimed to be far ahead of its time, and have sold millions of copies of their first albums worldwide.

Nobody knows who they are! If Americans would actually listen and give them a change, we would be hearing much better music more often. But yeah, their Very good!

Their music restored my faith in humanity.

Massive attack are pretty good

5 Morgan Page
6 Zola Jesus
7 Tame Impala Tame Impala is an Australian psychedelic rock band founded by Kevin Parker in 2007. The group began as a home recording project for Parker, who writes, records, performs, and produces the music.

Been a fan since their self-titled EP, definitely check them out if you haven't already. I believe Australia atm has some of the greatest rock artists that still haven't broken into the overseas market.

Deadmau5 isn't going to restore faith in modern music. Tame impala takes sounds from the past and throws them into the future. They will restore faith in humanity as well

It's not all bad. Tame Impala is literally the modern day Pink Floyd meets The Beatles. Listen to Lonerism. It's one of the best albums of all time.

Fans of the Beatles need to check out this Australian band's 2012 album Lonerism, particularly the single "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards".

Coldplay is the best band ever. +10 points for being British. I love Swallowed in the Sea and Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground. They are probably the best two songs by Coldplay, but I can't really choose.

I kinda like them. I'm not very familiar with them though. Just the mainstream stuff.

Pretty mainstream, but still excellent.

Sorry, but no they don't click me in anyway.

9 Blink-182 Blink-182 is a pop-punk band formed in 1992. The original lineup consisted of Mark Hoppus on bass guitar and vocals, Tom DeLonge on guitar and vocals, and Scott Raynor on drums. Green Day may have restored my beginning faith in music, but Blink-182 has completed my faith in music, especially Tom DeLonge, who always makes good music. I was looking for a good band that would help me get into rock music, and this is the band I looked for.

I strongly disagree with Dos and Tré being bad. Though they don't consist of 'genius' talent, I still really like Green Day and enjoy covering their music.

Dos and Tres sucked, they used to be good but they've hit a wall

Their newer stuff is quite bad though.

Green Day is the best band of today

The Contenders
11 K. S. Chithra Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra, often credited as K. S. Chithra or simply Chithra, is an Indian playback singer from Kerala. Chithra also sings Indian classical, devotional, and popular music.

Modern music is definitely not as good as classic music, and most modern musicians are destroying music, but, thankfully, we have Chithra.

12 Electus

I really love this list. PetSounds and PositronWildhawk introduced me to Electus and Electus has went on to be one of my favorite artists of all time. Seriously. Check this person out. It's worth it. Trust me.

13 Animal Collective Animal Collective is an American experimental pop band formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 2003. Its members and founders are Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin, and Geologist.

If Tame Impala are the Beatles of the 21st century, Animal Collective are the Beach Boys. Their album Merriweather Post Pavilion is a must-hear.

15 Evanescence Evanescence is an American alternative rock/alternative metal band. It was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

Amy, Will, mostly Will, his guitar skills are amazing, Amy and her vocals, Tim you are amazing. The drummer, amazing drumming. I may have forgot your name, but I never forget, as it's the first time, but you all are amazing.

Just quickly, for those who don't know (looking at other comment) the current members are; Amy (vocals), Jen (lead guitar), Troy (rhythm guitar), Tim (bass), and Will (drums).

Has anyone even heard evanescence in the last ten years? Exactly

He puts out some of the most thoughtful records for a mainstream rapper, "sing about me" "maad city" etc. His lyricism is on another level, his musical talent is great, while I do believe modern music is great, if it needed someone to help it back up, Kendrick would single handle that

To Pimp a Butterfly is probably one of the greatest album of this decade. He's a great lyricist with very experimental instrumentation. To Pimp a Butterfly's concept is very intelligent and enlightening. Also, he has a great flow in general.

Only his lyrics are good. Otherwise, he would be average computerized rap.
Is there a Lamar song that has real instruments?

Why is Green Day above them? I don't hate them, but they are hardly modern

19 Gorillaz Gorillaz are an English virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs.

New album soon, so excited to see what Damon Albarn does with it after Blur's new album

It's too bad people don't really talk about them anymore. They were really good.

Need I say more?

22 Grizzly Bear

An excellent psychedelic group with folk influences and hints of Pink Floyd. Try their album Yellow House.

23 Serge Devant
24 Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails is an American industrial rock band, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio.

Glad to see them high on the list. Seriously check them out. They are an amazing band.

Been around since the 90's, but they still kick ass.

One of the best industrial bands of all time.
