As a whole, I think in terms of the current National team, Japan is better since they have performed better in the World Cup, but then again in recent friendlies, Korea is doing better than Japan so which National team is better is up for debate. However, it is pretty obvious that Son Heung Min is the best Asian player at the moment and is soon to become the most accomplished asian player of all time so I think that is why Korea suddenly swept pas Iran to become number 1. In terms of accomplishments, Korea came 4th in the 2002 world cup and regardless of how controversially they came to such high placing, I don't think an Asian country even managed to reach the semi finals in the world cup before.

Asian tigers has almost every record in the continent. They have gone to the World Cup the most time (10) and also keep the continuous record (9 times in a low). They are also the team who have gone to the finals of AFC Asian cups (6 times total) tied with Saudi Arabia and have gone to the semi-finals (10 times among 16 total Asian cups! ). Some people who have watched Asian football after 90s may think Japan has been equal or better than Korea but that is non-sense. Korea republic has shared the East and West with Iran for more than 60 decades, and they will.

Seriously, lets use data to support our claims rather than blind patriotism. Out of 78 total matches between the two countries South Korea won 41 and Japan won 14. (23 matches were a draw). 41 vs 14... I think it's pretty damn clear who is better. Stupid Japanese lol.

They are the best in every aspect (World cup, AFC Asian cup, AFC Champions League, AFC 23, AFC 19, AFC 16, EAFF cup, Olympic, and Asian games). There is no team matching what they have done in every single tournament above.

2 Japan Japan is an island country in East Asia in the Pacific Ocean. It lies off the eastern coast of the Asia Mainland (east of China, Korea, Russia) and stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and near Taiwan in the southwest. ...read more.

Balanced and good sportsmanship. Has players such as Inui, Kagawa, Honda, and Shibasaki which are represent Japanese soccer globally. Japan has a great team whoever they need to improve their goal keeper. In the world Cup Eiji Kawashima made a lot of misses in saving goals.
Japan still has a lot of potential to the future

The only Asian nation in big 16 match in World Cup 2018. They even took first two goals with Belgium, but unfortunately Belgium won 3-2. This is quite enough to say that Japan should be number 1 instead of Iran.

Much better than South Korea and Iran. Korean is so cruppy team in Asia. In terms of qualify of players Japan is barely higher than Iran.

Japan is the only team in Asia having the ability to win world cup. Moreover they are the most hardworking Asian team...

Not only is soccer easily the most popular sport in Iran, but the Iranian National Soccer team is also undeniably the current best team in Asia.

Iran performed very well in World Cup 2018 they should be number one one on this list vote if you agree.

Definitely the best asian team, as witnessed by their performances in World Cup 2018!

Russia should be higher. They made it so far in the world cup. Saudi Arabia couldn't even score a goal against Russia (5-0? )

In 2018, lost to second placers Croatia in quarter finals, also, they beat Spain in penalties.

Russia is ok. I guess. They were in the top 10 a few years back but they have fallen since

Malaysia's passion for football is ridiculous. They might not have the players like they did in the 1970s but you can find children everywhere playing this sport.

17 Vietnam

They have improved these couple years and Vietnam possesses an abundant amount of talented youngsters.

I think most would say this team is so BAD
