3 Sandy Koufax

Sandy's place in baseball history is secured forever. Who knows what would've happen had he won more games or more strikeouts. One thing is clear Sandy was one of the fastest flame throwers in the history of the game. His first win happened in the year the Dodgers won their first world championship in 1955. On August 27, he went the distance in a 2-hitter 7-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds, the first of 165 victories he would have in his amazing Hall of Fame career.

7 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is an American retired professional basketball player who played 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.

I viewed a list that had the greatest athletes from every state and I was appalled that Michael Jordan was called a better Athlete than karreem Abdul jabbar. NO WAY IS HIS AIRNESS A BETTER ATHELETE THAN JABBAR WAS.I get the love affair that the media has with Jordan, but Jordan is known for mainly just his pro career. Yes he won gold medals in the Olympics, but Jabbar protested the Olympics because of the treatment of African Americans or else he surly would have won his. Jabbar has one more overall titles, had the rules changed for him, had sneaker deals long before his airness, dominated the league with sup par talent long before Magic got there and made better movies. The Hate against jabbar has gone on long enough. And for those who don't understand this, let me say one more thing. Jabbar is still the number one scorer in the NBA. In a league with three pointers being the norm, that is truly incredible

Amazing that Kareem is number 7 I would say he is maybe in the top 3 best basketball players of all time and that being worlds 2nd most popular sport. I don't think any of the guys ahead have much of a case for being in the top 3 in their sports history.
