Top 10 Best Baseball Teams

The Top Ten
1 New York Yankees The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team based in the Bronx, New York City, New York, that competes in Major League Baseball.

Come on. Seriously? Obviously, the Yankees are the greatest team in the greatest city in the world. From Babe Ruth to Lou Gehrig to Joe DiMaggio to Yogi Berra to Mickey Mantle to Reggie Jackson to Derek Jeter, how can you possibly say that the Yankees are not the greatest baseball team of all time? 27 championships. Ruth and Gehrig led the way to make them the greatest sports team in history.

Even though I live in New England, I still have no problem saying I support the Yankees. I remember in sixth grade, my teacher would let the class watch the Red Sox highlights, and I remember when they played the Yankees, I'd be against the whole class. Screaming "Yay" when they were upset. That was the best. Go NYY!

2 Los Angeles Dodgers The Los Angeles Dodgers are an American professional baseball team based in Los Angeles, California. The Dodgers compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League West division.

I love the Dodgers! A special thank you for having Fernando Valenzuela throw the first pitch in one of the World Series Games this year. I was in happy tears.

They are awesome and cool. I like to watch their games, and I enjoy them. That is why I will vote for them. They should be the best baseball team.

Let's go Dodgers! They are the best. The Dodgers are one of the best baseball teams of all time and they have grown throughout history.

3 San Francisco Giants The San Francisco Giants are a professional American baseball team based in San Francisco. The Giants compete in Major League Baseball as part of the West division of the National League. They play their home games at Oracle Park in downtown San Francisco.

This team is amazing, especially for the fact that they won this year's World Series with 4 wins straight and no losses. This team is amazing and will always remain one of the greatest baseball teams of all time. Go Giants!

I think they should be number 2. I mean, they have the same number of World Series wins, but the talent of the Giants is undeniable. I mean, Posey, Pagan, Panik, the Brandons (Belt and Crawford), Duffy, Span, Pence, Blanco, Bumgarner, Cueto, Samardzija, Huston, and more. Honestly, the only real player on the Sox is Papi, and he is retiring. Besides, the coaching too. Pablo "Panda" Sandoval was a Giant, and he hit and played third base greatly. Now, he moves to Boston and he is garbage. San Francisco beats Red Sox.

4 St. Louis Cardinals The St. Louis Cardinals are a professional baseball team based in St. Louis, Missouri. The Cardinals compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League Central division.

There's no way this team shouldn't be #2 on this list. Not only do they have 11 World Series titles under their belts, but they're also leading the pack in terms of franchise fanfare. Nielsen Scarborough has ranked Cardinals fans as the number one MLB fans fourteen times within the past eighteen years. And in the four years when they weren't number one, they ranked number two on the list.

Aside from their amazing comeback history, the Cardinals are quite possibly the only hope humanity has in saving Middle Earth from orcs and white walkers.

5 Boston Red Sox The Boston Red Sox are an American professional baseball team based in Boston, Massachusetts, that competes in Major League Baseball.

The Red Sox are the team to beat in the new millennium. Before the infamous Curse of the Bambino, the Red Sox (first called the Boston Americans) were one of the best baseball franchises in the country. They won the first World Series in 1903, then went on an insane streak, winning four World Series titles between 1912 and 1918. Then came the trade of Babe Ruth to the Yankees. The Red Sox faded into an unbroken 86-year championship drought. The Yankees, one of the worst teams in baseball before Ruth, would go on to become the most dominant team in the 20th Century, winning 25 World Series titles before 2000.

2004 changed everything. The American League Championship Series, to decide who would go on to the 100th World Series, was played between the Red Sox and Yankees. In the best-of-seven series, the Yankees took the first three games. It seemed like the Curse would never end.

And then came Game 4.

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th inning, facing elimination with just two outs to go, the Sox managed to tie it, and won on a David Ortiz walk-off home run in the 12th inning. This was the beginning of the 21st Century Red Sox dominance. They stormed back and did the impossible, beating the Yankees in the next three games and winning the ALCS 4-3. No other team in MLB history has come back from a 0-3 deficit to win a best-of-seven series. They swept the St. Louis Cardinals to win their first World Series championship in 86 years.

Since the absolutely magical 2004 season, the Sox have won World Series in 2007, 2013, and most recently in 2018. With four championships, the Boston Red Sox have won more World Series than any other MLB team in the 21st Century.

If you're looking at overall MLB history, then yes, the Yankees are the best team. No team in MLB has even half as many championships as the Yankees. However, the Yankees in the 21st Century are a shadow of their former selves. They've won only two World Series, in 2000 and 2009... more

6 Chicago Cubs The Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Cubs compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League Central division.

Cubs are the best! I loved them before they were cool, and the best game ever played was on Nov 2, 2016, at Cleveland. Yes, they may not be the best at everything, but other teams aren't good at stuff either. This is to the people who talk smack about teams, so stop thinking it benefits you because it doesn't.

The history! The long, long history! Everyone loves the Cubbies! After our home teams, the Cubs are everyone's favorite team!

The Cubs have played the most games in baseball history. They were established in 1869 in the same city they are in now.

7 Cincinnati Reds Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, this MLB team belongs to the National League Central division. With a storied history that includes multiple World Series titles, they play their home games at Great American Ball Park. Their primary team color is red.

The Reds, or Redlegs, were the first organized team of all the MLB teams still existing. That's why they traditionally play in the first game of every season.

They had the best players in the world and are so much better than most other teams here. The Cubs are cursed.

They're the closest team to Indiana, and I live in Indiana.

8 Oakland A's This MLB team is part of the American League West division and represents Oakland, California. With a history of World Series championships, their home games are played at the Oakland Coliseum. The team's colors are green, gold, and white.

How are the A's this much lower than the Sox? They have one more World Series ring than the Red Sox. Sure, they may not be great now, but overall, they're the better team.

The A's have the best scouting, no doubt. They had Zito, Hudson, Mulder, Cespedes, Donaldson - I could go on forever.

The A's have many awesome players.

9 Seattle Mariners The Seattle Mariners are an American professional baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. Enfranchised in 1977, the Mariners are a member of the West division of the American League in Major League Baseball.

Now, in 2017, I have to mention their extraordinary offseason. First of all, they acquired speedy shortstop Jean Segura, former top prospect Mitch Haniger, and reliever Zac Curtis from the D-Backs, all in exchange for just Taijuan Walker and Ketel Marte! Next, they acquired Marc Rzepczynski, speedster Jarrod Dyson from KC in exchange for Nate Karns, and picked up other fantastic pitchers.

Share all-time win record in a season in 2001. Enough said!

10 New York Mets The New York Mets are an American professional baseball team based in New York City. They play in Flushing, in the borough of Queens.

I do like the Mets. I'm a big Willie Mays fan, and the Mets team was created for the purpose of bringing Willie back to New York. That's the reason the Mets colors and their NY logo so closely resemble Mays' old New York Giants colors and logo. The owner finally pried Willie away from Horace Stoneham's SF team at the end of Willie's career. Mays got to play in the 1973 World Series with his new Mets teammates, and he played well. A Willie Mays fan has a place in his or her heart for the Mets.

It's not always about voting on this list. It's about the Mets, baby, love the Mets! Alright, baby, let's go! Get a home run, baby! Love the Mets! Let's go Mets!

The Contenders
11 Detroit Tigers The Detroit Tigers are an American professional baseball team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Tigers compete in Major League Baseball as a member of the American League Central division.

The Tigers deserve to at least be in the top 5. Here's why. First off, the old English D the Tigers wear is one of the most recognized sports symbols in the world. That's no bull. If that isn't enough, the two greatest players other than Babe Ruth to play the game were/are Detroit Tigers. Those two players are Ty Cobb and Miguel Cabrera, the last triple crown winner.

Secondly, Detroit Tiger fans are diehard, true blue fans. Have you ever been to a game in Detroit? It is often insanity with the cheering, a very loud place. Thirdly, even though the Tigers have not won 27 Championships, they were one of the first teams in the AL and have always been competitive. They are no expansion team, that's for sure! Top 5, I say!

12 Philadelphia Phillies The Philadelphia Phillies are an American professional baseball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Phillies compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League East division. They play their home games at Citizens Bank Park. They won the World Series in 1980 and 2008.

If you forget the statistics, the Phillies have the most well-rounded team with the best people! The fans are the hardest on the players, and the players still maintain a good attitude!

I just like them, but really, how are they not in the top ten list?

The Phillies are building up to be a strong team again. They are great.

13 Toronto Blue Jays The Toronto Blue Jays are a Canadian professional baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Blue Jays are a member of the East division of the American League in Major League Baseball, and play their home games at Rogers Centre.

I absolutely love the Toronto Blue Jays and I will remain loyal to the team. Also, I love their mascot, the blue jay, and Blue Jays are beautiful, and it is my favorite bird. Go team Blue Jay and this team is the greatest!

The Jays are the best and had the best walk-off World Series ever. They always have to contend against the Yankees and Boston, but still, they do so well!

Joe Carter's walk-off World Series-winning home run, the bat flip, the Donaldson dash and slide - who says the Blue Jays aren't good!

14 Baltimore Orioles The Baltimore Orioles are an American professional baseball team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Orioles compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the American League East division. They play their home games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Baltimore Orioles have won 3 World Series ranging from the sixties to the eighties and have been in the World Series 4 times before. They have had great players like Frank Robinson, Cal Ripken Jr., Brooks Robinson, Boog Powell, Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray, Adam Jones, and more. Also, they had a great season in 2016.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. The Cubs have just started being a good team and they're already high on the list! Give us some credit!

Oriole fans share memories that are unbelievable. My 13-year-old son does not believe the stats of the 1971 Orioles! He says it's impossible... can't be done!

15 Anaheim Angels The Los Angeles Angels (known as the California Angels from 1965 to 1996, the Anaheim Angels from 1997 to 2004, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 2005 to 2015) are an American professional baseball franchise based in Anaheim, California, near Los Angeles. The Angels compete in Major League... read more

With one of the best defensive lineups in 2017 and the best player in the game at the moment, the Angels are definitely one of the best baseball teams.

I love them so much! The Angels have good sportsmanship. If you've seen the Tigers playing the Yankees, you'd know they have horrible sportsmanship.

The Angels are my favorite, especially since they have my favorite player, Mike Trout!

16 Tampa Bay Rays The Tampa Bay Rays are an American professional baseball team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Rays compete in Major League Baseball as a member of the American League East division.

The Rays are doing really well, but they can have their ups and downs. However, they can show how good they are by playing a strong game the next time.

17 Pittsburgh Pirates The Pittsburgh Pirates are a professional American baseball league based in Pittsburgh. The Pirates compete in Major League Baseball as part of the Central division of the National League. They play their home games at PNC Park.

The 1960 team beat the Yankees, including players like Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. Also, many Hall of Famers including Honus Wagner, Willie Stargell, and none other than Roberto Clemente, who broke the Latino color barrier.

What even is this list? The Pirates should be higher. The Cardinals should be higher. The Phillies and Reds should be lower. Worst ever.

They're not spoiled winners like the Yankees.

18 Houston Astros The Houston Astros are an American professional baseball team based in Houston, Texas. They won the World Series in 2017.

Houston has the best front office and the best long-term strategy for maintaining excellence for years to come. They know how to recruit and develop players that contribute to the whole of the team, rather than merely good players. Lots of teams can sign a free agent, make a trade, or draft a good player. The Astros develop a true team.

They are most likely going to win this year's (2017) World Series. The orange team makes me fall in love. They deserve to win. They won against the Yankees, almost losing a 2-0 lead. They're still one of the best teams.

19 Arizona Diamondbacks Situated in Phoenix, Arizona, this MLB team is a member of the National League West division. Known for winning the World Series in 2001, they host their games at Chase Field. Their team colors are Sedona red, black, and Sonoran sand.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have a great 2016 season ahead of them. This offseason, they drafted several players who will greatly contribute to the franchise: Zack Greinke, Shelby Miller, and Tyler Clippard. We also have several other players who will be able to contribute, such as Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollock. Our team has also been currently dominating in Spring Training.

I love the Diamondbacks. They are the BEST. I love Alex Avila, even though he's getting older. In my opinion, they are THE Greatest Wild West Team.

20 Texas Rangers The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in Arlington, Texas located in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
21 Atlanta Braves The Atlanta Braves are an American professional baseball franchise based in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The franchise competes in Major League Baseball as a member of the National League East division. They play their home games at SunTrust Park.

The Braves should be number one because they're the best team in the whole world. They even had Hank Aaron. Why wouldn't they be first? Oh, they're the best team you could ever think of.

The Yankees are the worst team in the world. Who cares about the Yankees?

This is the best baseball team of all time. It should be at #1. They beat the Pirates almost every time.

They are good. What do you think? They are in 22nd, but they should be in 4th.

22 Minnesota Twins Representing Minneapolis, Minnesota, this MLB team competes in the American League Central division. They host their home matches at Target Field and have won several World Series championships. The Twins sport navy blue, red, and gold uniforms.

The Twins are the second-best team in baseball, with young guys on their team and the youngest manager in baseball.

I think the Twins are the best, top 5 for sure!

The Twins are better than the Brewers.

23 Cleveland Indians The Cleveland Guardians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Guardians compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the American League Central division.

The Indians/Guardians have at this point already beaten the Yankees. They won a game with 3 runs, all in the last inning, when it was 5-3. I think they should be bumped up.

They are good this year. I think they can at least be in 11th.

They are awesome! I love this baseball team. The Indians are one of my favorites.

24 Milwaukee Brewers This Major League Baseball team competes in the National League Central division and represents Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Home games are played at American Family Field. Renowned for their signature Barrelman mascot, the team's colors are navy blue and gold.

I'm not saying the Milwaukee Brewers are the best team out there, but towards the end of this year, when Christian Yelich got his injury, the Brewers were playing good baseball. I'm not saying that the Brewers are better off without Yelich. The Brewers were depending on each other, not just one guy, when Yelich was hurt. I have to tip my cap, wish them luck, and always hope for the best fortune for the Brewers. The Brewers will make it to the World Series before 2022. Go Brewers!

They were great with Prince Fielder!

25 Chicago White Sox Representing the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, this Major League Baseball (MLB) team is part of the American League Central division. The White Sox have won multiple World Series titles and play at Guaranteed Rate Field. Their uniform colors are black, white, and silver.

One of the most historic teams in the major leagues. A history with a checkered past, filled with wins, losses, mobsters, and legends. The illegitimate team of the second city. Lurking under the shadows of Wrigley, lies a team who seems to be forgotten by everyone, except the real baseball fans of the Windy City. All you have to do is take the Red Line to the Sox 35th stop and step into the field of greatness.

The Sox are the best, not for how good they are, but for how hard they try. By Jerome Reed.
