Infinity Train Pilot Discussion

phillysports Okay, guys. So I just recently saw a new pilot for a cartoon named "Infinity Train" on Cartoon Network's YouTube channel. Anyone knows me knowns that I am an ENORMOUS fan of animation, whether that be animated movies or T.V. cartoons. So here are my thoughts on CN's next potential series: I thought that this was just simply AMAZING. The whole concept of the show seems to be a about a girl named Tulip who is trapped on a never-ending train with each cart containing its own crazy world. She is accompanied by this hilarious British robot thing named One-One who can go from being absolutely happy to completely depressed spontaneously. An important thing to know is that Tulip has a mysterious glowing number on her hand that she has no idea how she received, and she has no clue how she ended up in the train to begin with. The whole show has a very mysterious feel to it where danger seems to be around every corner. I really enjoy all of the characters. Tulip is smart, determined, cool, and overall very relatable and she seems to just be a very cool protagonist to lead us through these crazy environments. One-One is definitely more of a comic relief, but he made me laugh whenever he opened his mouth with the contrast of his two personalities. There's also a hilarious Corgi dog named Atticus (who's voiced by Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters fame) who gave me a lot of chuckles, as well. Overall, this just seems like a fantastic idea for a show with great characters, a great premise, and a mysterious and adventurous feel that really reminded me of cartoon greats such as Adventure Time and Gravity Falls.

For those of you who don't know, it's the ending of an era for Cartoon Network. Adventure Time, which started a bit of a cartoon renaissance in the 2010s, will be coming to an end in 2018 after its ninth season. Regular Show will be ending soon with the closing of its eighth season, and Gumball's future is pretty shaky with talks of it ending after its next season, but nothing for sure yet. So that basically leaves us with Steven Universe (good but a little overrated in my opinion), We Bare Bears (good), Teen Titans Go! (AWFUL), Uncle Grandpa (AWFUL), Clarence (mediocre), PowerPuff Girls 2016 (AWFUL), and Mighty Magiswords (too early to tell). I don't know if this is just me, but Infinity Train looks like it has the making of Cartoon Network's next great show. Adventure Time will leave a hole that will be very difficult to fill, but if any show has the ability to fill it, it's this one. Everything seems to be there for this show. The creator worked on Regular Show and Over the Garden Wall, it has a great cast featuring Ashley Johnson (Terra from Teen Titans, Gwen Tennyson from Ben 10, Gretchen from Recess, & Ellie from The Last of Us) and the aforementioned Ernie Hudson, and the animation already looks very polished for a pilot episode.

I just hope that Cartoon Network is willing to take a chance on this show, because this looks like it could be one of the greatest cartoons on TV. Or at the very least, CN can turn it into a fantastic miniseries in the same fashion as Over the Garden Wall. I'll leave a link to the episode at the end of this post to see what you guys think of the show. Let me know what you think of it!

Looks pretty cool based on images I saw of the cartoon on Google. I've been jumping on the new cartoons hate bandwagon for so long now, so I want to try to give this new show a chance if I have the time to watch it. - visitor

I know it's been a long time since I've been on this post, but after such said long time, I was actually able to see the entire pilot for Infinity Train. Obviously, I loved every second of it. I was quite amused by the pilot's intriguing characters, setting, and sense of mystery in just about every corner with a nice touch of humor and storytelling to go along with it. If only Cartoon Network could realize that a fascinating and entertaining show like Infinity Train is what people of all ages can enjoy and support. - visitor
