Top 10 Best Defensive Pokemon

The Top Ten
1 Aggron Aggron, known in Japan as Bossgodora, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Honestly you can't say that shuckle is better - we are talking about defense and they have the same defense. Only Aggron has better HP so it can take physical moves a lot better. Along with that, it has literally 14 times shuckle's attack so it can attack and defend for itself pretty well.

Aggron is my teams tank it has a great move pool and it can take a hit and deal one out with great power in attack and defense it's my go to, I named it accurately named it, Dooms-Day.

Aggro is the wall defender on my team. In real life he would be even STRONGER in Double, Triple battles. Protect ally from hit. Ally defeated opponents Pokemon. Me and my Pokemon wins. The end

2 Shuckle Shuckle, known in Japan as Tsubotsubo, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

No, no, no. Aggron? Number 1? Aggron isn't even in the top 3 for real defense. Shuckle is the Defense master, and it is also the Special Defense master. It has a Defense and Special Defense stat of 230 each. Number 2 is Steelix with 200 defense. Aggron is number 4 (tied with Cloyster), with a defense of 180. Shuckle would've been almost as bad as Sunkern and other Pokémon if its defense and Special Defense were as bad as its Attack, Special Attack, Speed, or HP. The HP doesn't even matter because of its defense. A good moveset would be Toxic (poison them - bad Attack/Special Attack), Sandstorm (use this after Toxic - bad Attack/Special Attack), Rest (recover at low health), and Earthquake (get revenge on Steel types since nothing has worked on them so far, and exploit their weakness).

3 Deoxys Deoxys, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

In the movie destiny Deoxys, Deoxys almost defeated Rayqauza By him self and Rayquaza's attacks did nothing to Deoxys when they fought. Also, Deoxys can regenerate, so in my opinion, Deoxys should be the best.

Dude This thing Has Speed,Attack,Defense all in one! how could you not love it!

4 Steelix Steelix, known in Japan as Haganeil, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Very powerful in defense, it's a shame that his other stats aren't up to standard with his devastatingly strong defense. If you want a Defensive Pokemon in your team this is the guy.

With a Careful nature, using Curse and Body Press will give it a huge advantage.

A major Power house. If a human punched the bleed.

5 Cloyster

One of the most defensive non Ubers in the game, Skill Link gives multi-strike moves always hitting quintuple. Its only problem however is its Special Defense which is really low. But throw something Special Defensive on the team, such as Probopass or Umbreon and that problem is sorted.

6 Onix Onix, known in Japan as Iwark, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
7 Registeel

I use registeel in a lot of battles, it's a really good defensive and special defensive Pokemon in battle with friends or wifi

Registeel too fat for the competition, can take physical and special moves, unlike aggron

8 Regirock

With a Careful nature, using Curse and Body Press will give it a huge advantage.

Curse,Rest,Drain Punch, and another attacking move with a lum berry I believe, or whateve berry wakes you up makes this thing a defensive beast with a powerful punch. Only weakness is sp attackers

In my emerald my regirock has 431 base defense.

9 Bastiodon

Well Bastiodon is great in Defense and Special Defense 168 Defense and 138 Special Defense. How is that not good, Bastiodon can learn Stealth Rock too. So that makes it able to deal with focus sashes too. that's why I have it on my team.

Bastiodon's a living SHIELD! Shields are used for defense, so why isn''t it tops? It has amazing defense!

I think bastiodon because it's pretty cool and it's defense and special defense are both good

10 Umbreon Umbreon, known in Japan as Blacky, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I have an Umbreon. I battle with my friends a lot and they always fear her when she comes out. Not only is Umbreon an absolute tank but she can stall the opponent and when they finally get a bit of damage done to her moonlight will save the day. Umbreon is a beast as she is an excellent tank and your opponent will be awing at her adorableness while she takes down their team. I beat my friends Lucario with my adorable little monster and keep in mind Lucario is a sweeper but when my friends lucario used Aura Sphere a super effective move it barely made a scratch. Umbreon is the best Pokemon ever and don't you ever forget it!

11 Toxapex

Toxapex is simple too tanky to ignore. Movesets such as Stockpile, Recover, Toxic, Infestation/Liquidation are a pain to deal with. Liquidation will make use of the Merciless ability while infestation forces the opponent to stay in battle while toxic and infestation chip away at their health. When you eventually do get to low health just use Recover and make all of those little kids throw their 3DS out of the nearest window!

12 Heatran
13 Weedle Weedle, known in Japan as Beedle, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

With never-before-seen typing and outstanding movepool, this savage pokemon will stop at nothing to tear away its enemy. Its magnificent special defense is only outstripped by its own defense, which makes it extremely durable and able to take hits exceptionally well.

A favorite of champions, Weedle is the best pokemon to use. Its signature move poison sting OHKOs even the bulkiest pokemon!

Weedle is a necessity to any team his base stats are amazing and strong shot is best move 2k16

14 Tyranitar Tyranitar, known in Japan as Bangiras, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

With a Bold nature, using Calm Mind and Recover sure can increase the length of a battle big time.

The ideal wall, having great speed, godlike bulk, and offenses to back it up. Need I say more? Also he has a great movepool.

Lugia is strong and has high defense with high hp. Of course the attack is suck. But speed is super

16 Blissey Blissey, known in Japan as Happinas, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It was first introduced in generation II. Blissey is the final evolution of Happiny and is evolved from Chansey when it has a high friendship.

Although many of us have come to hate this pokemon, it is because it is has a monster defense. We hate it because whenever we got it down to low hp, it used softboiled to get its' health back. Beast defense + hp recovering move.

Blissey has one of the highest hp in the game. Also the combination of sing and it learning the move dream eater makes it a great offensive Pokemon

Blissey is a tank literally a wall nothing can actually take her down

17 Ferrothorn

With a base defense of 131 and base special defense of 116, along with a grass/steel type advantage, this Pokemon can hold off entire teams.

With a Careful nature, combo-ing with Curse and Gyro Ball will turn the tide of things.

Pluse can learn both stealth rocks and spikes, can't be leech seeded, or spored!

18 Torterra Torterra, known in Japan as Dodaitose, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Super strong and has such a cute evolution line, plus his defense is outstanding. He has a tree growing out of his back for crying out loud!

With earthquake & higher defenses he can beat even fire types;perhaps grass-ground combo is great.

19 Probopass Probopass, known in Japan as Dainose, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

With a Calm nature, it can get all the gains by using Iron Defense and Body Press.

How could you not love that moustache.

It can take any hit like its nothing except maybe a Close Combat or Earthquake

With 9 resistances to some common typing such as flying, rock, bug, steel, grass, fairy, ice and the over-powerful psychic and important dragon resistance, this thing eats up hits. With the added immunity to ground type attacks(one of its few weaknesses) through its levitate ability and its move kings shield that blocks almost any attack. With an added 150 sp. definitely and 150 definitely while in shield form and 150sp. att and 150 att while in sword form it has the ability to strike back hard when it gets bored of tanking.

This thing is a pain to fight. With its dual forms and ability to make you completely ineffective and hit back hard, this for me is an essential addition to any defensive team

21 Snorlax Snorlax, known in Japan as Kabigon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Snorlax is a giant squidgy ball of healthiness. With 160 base hp and 110 base sp. definitely. Once you get off 2 stockpiles this thing will soak up super effective hits like its nothing. With the ability to recover lost health through rest and sleep talk or even if you lose the sleep talk for curse and bite which further increases its definitely stat. Snorlax is a huge threat. I've swept teams with snorlax, taking a hit to give one back.

Sleeps too much, but has too much defense for to kill him even though he gives you a head start or an advantage.

22 Metagross Metagross, known in Japan as Metagross, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Metagross is awesome. It does extreme damage while at the same time taking no damage exept from earthquake.

Metagross is the best tanker. You need to earthquake to kill best defensive pokemon in my competitive

It's a pseudo with 9 resistances!

Its new Hisuian form makes it the best pseudo legendary in the game. It can be a great special wall with the assault vest but has many moves to boost its own defense and fight with body press. Exceptional typing too.

24 Mega Aggron

Mega aggron has one of the most high defenses out of any pokemon

25 Wobbuffet

Come on! Wobbuffet do only have defense type moves and it's so low on the list?
