Easily the best director of the 2000s. Look at his resume; The Dark Knight, Inception, Memento, The Dark Knight Rises, The Prestige, Batman Begins, Insomnia, Following... The man hasn't made a bad movie... Probably even in the top three directors of all time, behind Kubrick and Kurosawa.

Inception, Dark Knight and Memnto are two of the arguably greatest films of all time. While the Coen Brothers have never really made a bad movie (except Ladykillers), neither has Nolan (his lowest percent on RT is 75% for The Prestige), but he's created memorable, original and exciting movies, which is why he should be Number 1

Memento is one of the most interesting films I have ever seen. Christopher Nolan is BY FAR the best director who is still making films. The Dark Knight and Inception were good as well.
