Top 10 Best Killers in Movies

From the hallowed halls of horror to the darkest corners of thrillers and crime dramas, these on-screen killers have kept us on the edge of our seats, frightened us out of our wits, and yet, in some bizarre way, kept us coming back for more.

It's a testament to the power of cinema and the talents of the actors and filmmakers behind these characters that they can evoke such strong feelings of fear and fascination. These killers represent the darker aspects of human nature, the horrifying possibilities that exist when morality is abandoned. And while they might be the characters we love to hate, there's no denying the important role they play in their respective films, driving the plot forward with their deadly deeds.
The Top Ten
1 Jason Voorhees Jason Voorhees is a character from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th as the young son of camp cook-turned-murderer, Mrs. Voorhees.

I have to say that Jason is one of the best killers ever to be in a movie. The way he is seen for a split second and then suddenly appears right in front of you is purely scary. However, I am sad that they spelled his name wrong here. It is Jason Voorhees.

Wow, Jason is awesome. He has such a cool persona, somehow, despite being a crazy killer!

You don't mess with Jason. He'll rip your heart out!

2 Michael Myers Michael Myers is a character from the Halloween series of slasher films. He first appears in John Carpenter's Halloween as a young boy who murders his older sister, then fifteen years later returns home to murder more teenagers... read more

Jason is cool, but Michael is the best. His mask is definitely a lot better than Jason's hockey mask.

3 Freddy Krueger Fred "Freddy" Krueger is the main antagonist of the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series. He first appeared in Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).

Freddy Krueger was essentially a child rapist and murderer. His favorite weapon was the clawed glove. He would kidnap children and kill them in a shack under a bridge.

When the parents discovered his location, they used Molotov cocktails to set the shack on fire while he was inside, which left him with a scarred appearance. As he was dying in the flames, spirits from the realm of dreams approached him, stating they needed someone to embody the nightmares of the waking world. This gave rise to Freddy Krueger, the nightmare.

There's your backstory. Now, compare that with Jason. Guess who wins? Freddy.

4 Predator The Predator is a fictional extraterrestrial species featured in the Predator science-fiction franchise, characterized by its trophy hunting of other species for sport.
5 Jigsaw Jigsaw is a character from the Saw series. He first appears in Saw as a man whose wife passed away. After that, he did lots of tests on people.

Jigsaw could really shed some blood on the situation. Even though he's a bald old man, he has that creepy doll he uses to communicate. All of the Saw kills are so beastly and amusing.

He is smarter and more elusive than any of the killers here, plus he kills them in the most gruesome ways with a major body count.

6 Hannibal Lecter Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a character in a series of suspense novels by Thomas Harris. Lecter was introduced in the 1981 thriller novel Red Dragon as a forensic psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer.

Another total lunatic that presents himself as a gentleman. Nobody is more appealing than a distinguished cannibal.

7 Ghostface

Ghostface is a smart, deadly, freak, I would say. Do you really want to hear your phone ring and have an insane killer on the other side? I don't think so.

I like Ghostface because he is smart, deadly, and always asks, Do you like scary movies?

Billy Loomis is the coolest killer ever seen in a scary movie.

8 Leatherface Leatherface is a character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror-film series and its spin-offs. He wears masks made of human skin and engages in murder and cannibalism, alongside his inbred family.
9 The Alien (Alien) The Alien (also known as a Xenomorph) is a fictional extraterrestrial species that serves as the title antagonist of the Alien film series.
10 Norman Bates Norman Bates is a character created by writer Robert Bloch as the main character in his novel Psycho, and portrayed by Anthony Perkins as the primary antagonist of the 1960 film of the same name directed by Alfred Hitchcock and its sequels.

His character has had a major influence on the film industry!

Go Norman Bates! He was one of the first movie psycho killers ever. Give the man some credit.

This clown is just good! Why? To start off, he has the ability to be a human puppet. He can impersonate Georgie if he chooses. He is also hard to kill and can transform into anything. He is the clown who ruins children's lives when they are alone. Don't mess with that crazy clown! Pennywise's design is 34 times better than the 1990 version of Pennywise.
