Honoring mixed martial art's greatest welterweight fighters.
The Top Ten
1 Georges St-Pierre Georges St-Pierre (born May 19, 1981) is a Canadian retired professional mixed martial artist. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA) history. He is hands down the best welterweight, period. His only losses came to Matt Hughes, who only beat him because St. Pierre got caught by submission. Until then, he dominated the whole fight, and he dominated Hughes in the entire rematch. Even after his second loss to Matt Serra, he crushed him in the rematch and got his belt back. Since then, he's been perfect.

Beat the best competition for years, and then comes off a super long layoff to finish the champion of a weight class above where he fought for all those years. Easily the best.

2 Matt Hughes Matthew Allen Hughes (born October 13, 1973) is a retired American mixed martial artist with a background in wrestling. He is a two-time UFC Welterweight Champion, UFC Hall of Fame inductee, and NJCAA Hall of Fame inductee. During his tenures in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Hughes put together... read more
3 Tyron Woodley Tyron Lakent Woodley is an American mixed martial artist and a former amateur wrestler for the University of Missouri.
4 Robbie Lawler Robert Glenn "Robbie" Lawler is an American professional mixed martial artist and current UFC Welterweight Champion.

This guy is a real fighter. GSP is more of an athlete and leg humper. The ruthless one is just a savage. He also has that old-school mentality. He will fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. He is not afraid to engage in a brawl, and every fighter knows that they're in for a long night when they're going against Robbie. I also think Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit are not too far behind. Those guys are beasts too.

Should be #1. Down to make a fight as ugly as possible to win. A true warrior in the cage.

5 Nick Diaz

Always brings it when he fights. Never boring. Most entertaining fighter I've ever witnessed. His ability to throw combinations at varying speeds and power with great accuracy is second to none in the MMA welterweight division. Possibly the best we've ever seen.

Should be higher than Jon Fitch, Diego Sanchez, Sean "the steroid head" Sherk, and Anderson Silva is not a welterweight, dumbass.

Anderson is not a welterweight, and Diaz should be higher on this list.

6 Kamaru Usman
7 Carlos Condit Carlos Joseph Condit is an American mixed martial artist, competing in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

A fighter to watch. The best chin I've ever seen.

8 Colby Covington
9 Rory MacDonald Rory Joseph MacDonald is a Canadian mixed martial artist currently signed with the UFC fighting in the welterweight division.
10 Stephen Thompson Stephen Randall Thompson is an American professional mixed martial artist and former professional full-contact kickboxer who currently fights as a welterweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The Contenders
11 Jake Shields
12 B.J. Penn

Sean Sherk's real weakness is the fact that he has to take steroids.

13 Johny Hendricks
14 John Fitch

He is definitely the best welterweight, excluding GSP. But he can be better than GSP, given the right push and the right time.

15 Gilbert Burns
16 Josh Koscheck

Josh is my favorite. He used to be known mostly for wrestling. Then, when he started to slam people and hit them like crazy, he became my favorite UFC fighter of all time. He's no joke.

17 Sean Sherk
18 Royce Gracie

Royce was originally open weight in his prime.

19 Diego Sanchez
20 Thiago Alves
21 Conor McGregor Conor Anthony McGregor (born 14 July 1988) is an Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer. He is the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight and lightweight champion... read more

McGregor is a living legend. If you could watch Bruce Lee fight again, you would give anything to see it. But no worries, as we have someone more talented than ever before. Even the boxing world is trying to get him over to fight Floyd Mayweather, but after seeing him win two championships in New York, Floyd seems like he is scared to fight him now.

McGregor will be on top in a year or two.

22 Nate Diaz Nathan Donald "Nate" Diaz (born April 16, 1985) is an American professional mixed martial artist currently signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Diaz is the younger brother of former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion and WEC Welterweight Champion, Nick Diaz. Prior to signing with the UFC,... read more
23 Matt Brown
24 Matt Serra
25 Rafael dos Anjos Rafael Souza dos Anjos is a Brazilian mixed martial artist in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's lightweight division and the current UFC Lightweight Champion.
