Best Movies Since 1980

I figured we could narrow down some of the real best movies of all time, starting with when movies started to get worth watching.

The Top TenXW

1The Dark Knight

One of the best movies ever created. - HotRod

How on earth did Pirates Of the Carribean top this, the dark knight
You must not rememeber HEATH LEDGER

2Pirates of the Carribean

Great movie, great acting by Orlando Bloom, Jack Davenport, Geoffry Rush and others. Johny Depp didn't impress me. He needs to get some education on the field finally. He was the weakest from the list and in sequels his character became boring and annoying coward. Also, the movie has great music and amazing stunts.

great movie, bad acting, orlando bloom needs to go back to doing magazine ads, where he doesn't have to talk, johnny depp and Geoffrey rush excellent

Great acting, incredible music, and it doesn't take itself to seriously so the ridiculousness is genius.

I love everything in that movie I died laughing!!!!!!!

This movie was highly unappreciated when it came out, and I think it's because a majority of the people had no idea what was going on. But, those that have read the Illiad, or even know the story line, generally liked the move. The movie has awe-inspiring fight scenes, and raw emotion. It is a very powerful movie. - heather

9War of the Worlds

I will start by saying I Do Not like Tom Cruise, or Dakota Fanning, but this movie is a masterpiece. I was truly frightened while watching this movie, and they have done a great job making this very creative book an even more creative movie. Even if you don't like the movie, you should be able to appreciate the visual effects. - heather

I was surprised that I had never heard of this movie before, considering it has both Christian Bale and Sean Bean, two of the best. It was surprisingly emotional and thought provoking. The editing was excellent and the score was beautiful. It made me feel, and is an incredibly well-made movie.

18Pulp Fiction
19Sherlock Holmes (2009)

One of my favorites. The casting is perfect, and it has a perfect mix of plot, humor, action, and suspense. The story is so good that the day after I watched this movie, I watched it again. The sequel, A Game of Shadows, is my favorite movie ever.

Much like Pirates of the Caribbean but with a much better looking lead actor.

20Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
