Love The Solo, Its Perfectlly Brilliant
This song is one I have heard over forty times, and it is more powerful with every listen. It should be in the top 5.
Not only is this song just so perfect, I also had an over protective mom. Makes me smile reading the lyrics.
Simply the best. Should be #1.V 8 Comments
It pains me that this masterpiece is not appreciated as much as it should be. This is the best song on The Dark Side Of The Moon. It is short; but it is so powerful, the meaning, the ambience it installs; it didn't need to be long at all. Listen to the Gilmour acoustic version. It's magical. The keyboards, the base lines, the guitar in the background and Gilmour's magical voice blend together perfectly; forming one of the best songs in history. The most underrated song in history of music. It's a crime that this song is 24th in this list. It's a crime that people think another brick in the wall is better than this masterpiece.
27th!? I thought this would be in the top 5
This is an awesome song! The only issue is it s way too small.. Can listen to this one for hours!
Poor mans time, but still should be top 15 - connormouatV 17 Comments
Everything about this song is excellent: lyrics, intro, the bridge, the chorus. It soars!
Is it truly only a dream that there will be no more turning away? I don't want our world to be like that. I really think more people need to hear this song. It's amazing it slowly builds up for the whole song and ends with and incredible solo.
This song has a powerful message of not ignoring the terrible things going on around you. Plus, the choir in the background makes it so beautiful.
Without Roger it became a different Pink Floyd, with much less darkness. Songs where much deeper in the Waters' era, but this is a great great song.V 8 Comments
My second favorite Pink Floyd song, but I voted for it because Comfortably Numb is already No. 1. great song, love the guitar's sound.
I love other Pink Floyd songs but this is my current favourite. It is very uplifting and I love every bit of it!
This is my favourite (although I love other Pink Floyd songs). My favourite version is their Pulse one - HollyRolo
A driving, pulsating song.V 6 Comments
Syd Barrett Forever
David Gilmour Does It Well Too.
I really do not understand how the hell is this masterpiece so low on the list. And yeah I've also noticed that there's no Syd Barett song in the top ten. I really can't make head or tail of this. Astronomy domine is a song that surely takes one on a space trip.
Very underrated song. The name doesn't lie - most cosmic song ever.
My favourite Pink Floyd song by farV 5 Comments
One of the most hardest rocking songs in the bands catalogue. Its unrelenting sonic attack makes it one of the greatest punk songs out there. A perfect jewel of ten minuts of pure tranquil adrenaline
Very haunting song, great keyboard intro
Great guitar and especially great concept and creativity! The music was composed during Pink Floyd's best years: 1973-1974.
It's the worst of Animals, but it's greater than most of the others. It's almost perfect. Just perfectionV 12 Comments
The most epic song by Pinky Floyd in my opinion. It's a progressive classics. Something like Shostakovic but 40 years later.
If you haven't listened yet to this masterpiece, do yourself a favor and do it right now. It's one of the greatest compositions ever made. Silence in the studio!
Even though this song is underrated and it didn't turn out good for Floyd, the riffs and sound gives you somewhat a sensation.
My favourite long Pink Floyd track, out of this world!V 12 Comments
Needs to be higher. Once you completely understand The Wall, this should become one of your favorite songs on the album. - tjexler
This is one of most creative songs ever made, really special really underrated
"The Trial" was one of my favorite songs and this deserves to be on the top 7 on the list. Please vote this one!
Why isn't this in the top 20? I say it deserves it. - PowerfultekinV 10 Comments
Hello, this is TheTopTens calling. Are we reaching the logical part of your brain that keeps telling you to vote for this song [click] See, they hung up. And it's a stupid part of their brain answering.
Oooh, I Need A Dirty Woman
Best Solo Ever
It appears in 'The Wall'. Distinctive, raw hard rock sound, that stands out among Pink Floyd's few pieces in that genre.
One of the best off The Wall. Gilmour's vocals are fantastic
The piano fill is completely amazing plus there would be no Floyd without Syd barret
An iconic Pink Floyd Song, Should be top 10
My favourite short Pink Floyd song. - malamJONESV 6 Comments
P-S-Y-C-H-E-D-E-L-I-C. There are so many people who can't feel the magic of this kind of music. This is an amazing song.
Disheartened to see this piece so low down the list. One has to listen to it in order to appreciate it. Words cannot describe the place this song takes you to. Just concentrate on the music and one would leave any sort of surroundings in no time.
This is by far my favourite Pink Floyd songs. Give it a try, it's fantastic.
Nick Mason's favorite Pink Floyd song, the only Pink Floyd with both Syd Barret and David Gilmour, live staple from 1968 - 1973, and of course, my favorite Pink Floyd song. - NickelstickmanV 5 Comments
This is y far my favorite Pink Floyd song. I can't believe it is number 47. It deserves to be in the top 5 at least.Starts with deliberate slow drumbeats, the thudding is then accompanied by beautiful electric guitar that puts you in a trance, the music then practically stops when the amazing lyrics begin, which are made even more beautiful by the wonderful vocals. This song is brilliant.
I don't think it's the best, but how can it be 45? It deserves al least top 15
What better than a hypnotic acoustic guitar instrumental in the middle of the chaos of The Wall
Look up the looped version of the guitar solo on YouTube! Amazingly relaxing.V 1 Comment
This is a great psychedelic song that is well over 11 minutes. It has really wacky guitar and an awesome ending. This is a perfect song for Halloween or if you are spaced out. Although there are no spoken words, the instruments make up for that.
Amazing mix of instruments with David's wailing vocals at the end is breathtaking and enchanting.
This is their best song pre-dark side along with echoes, and one of their best in the entire discography.
The best psychedelic song forever.V 2 Comments
I never really thought much of the Syd Barrett era. I just think it isn't as good as the Waters albums (Dark Side, The Wall, Wish You Were Here etc.). This song, in my opinion is the best song from that era. It starts off with an awesome guitar intro, then falls into psychedelic chaos as the song progresses. This song made me appreciate Piper At the Gates of Dawn a lot more than I did at the time.
This is SO much better than Comfortably Numb or Another Brick In The Wall, in my opinion. And the live version is even better!
I added this song onto the list a while ago, I thought it'd be pretty low. I'm glad that it's in the top 20. - MontyPythonV 5 Comments
Oh my goodness it is my favorite pink floyd song!V 4 Comments
If you really concentrate on listening, this song takes you away from earth for a few minutes. Makes me wish I could play the guitar!
If you want to destroy gravity start flying, just listen to this amazing song. Work of art!
Awesome song to go out of this world! Simply a masterpiece! Definitely recommended to listen
This song is so good, makes you relax. That first guitar drop is sensationalV 14 Comments
How come it seems that some Pink Floyd fans don't know that Syd Barrett started the band and got kicked out after he took to many drugs? That's what gave late Pink Floyd its depressing sound.
What An Good Song To Learn To Play
Loved Syd Barrett. Irreplaceable
Syd Barrett had a strange hobby :/V 1 Comment
The bass at the end along with the synthesizers is one of Pink Floyd's signature infinite tones, (comfortably numb, welcome to the machine, hey you, etc. )
This song is what I will always remember Pink Floyd for... I don't know how it is near the bottom of the list
I'd love it's melodious guitar riff and makes me obsessed of it and then it wasn't boring to listen to it though it has only a brief lyrics. Guys please vote to climb this song to #10.
I think it is Pink Floyds best song!V 1 Comment
My favorite song off the wall, and that's saying something. A bluesy and awesome song which is good to listen to over and over again
This song, about being disconnected from those you love, is deceptively modest. The lyrics are extremely effective, and Water has a way of straining his voice on every note to give the sing special emotional clarity. Without using any guitar, drums, bass, or otherwise, Waters wrote one of the best Floyd songs ever
I didn't think it was possible, but the song gets even sadder once you know the meanings behind it.V 1 Comment
