Top 10 Best Religions

The Top Ten
1 Sikhism

It's the most recent religion. That's why its teachings are more related to modern times without any superstitions, fasting, idol worship, women equality, no belief that a certain God belongs to a certain people, rejects caste and prejudice. All humans are the same, and it's not what religions people follow, but more importantly, the way of life they live through truth and honesty, which has more value towards salvation... Unfortunately, many cultural beliefs have become incorrectly intertwined within its true teachings. Otherwise, it could become a worldwide major religion. The principal belief is that there is no Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or Jew. All are under the same laws. All are God's people. All people are the same. It's their outward appearances that make them different. Universal brotherhood: 'God is the God of no religion.'

2 Islam

Thank you for the everlasting life, Allah. You have given us so much. We praise you and adore you for all the good and gracious things you have done for us. Oh Allah, give blessings to our true Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). Allah, I don't know how to thank you. You are too perfect. Some Muslims may have let you down, and some may have been good. Oh Allah, please forgive everyone and help the poor and the people around me. You are the Creator, the Sustainer, and the One who has power over all. We believe that if someone hits you, you should stay calm and be good to them. We don't care if we get hurt; we only care that our Lord, the High Master (Allah), is happy. And to make Him happy, we have to stay calm, relax, and pray to Him at regular times. So, please, whether you are a Muslim or a non-Muslim, try to understand and consider joining our religion. If you don't want to, you don't have to. Allah has given us all the knowledge to choose our options. So, choose carefully which religion you think is right. I am not forcing you to choose; I just want to inform you. Don't get me wrong because I don't think there is anything wrong with my religion, Islam. I just want you to know that Islam means peace, and that's what the world needs - peace. Thank you.

3 Christianity

Why vote for this? Why have this list? Isn't it more important to just have faith than decipher whether it's a hundred percent correct, then kill each other if we don't have the same answer? There were fights between the Shia and Sunni, the Nazis and Jews, the terrorists and other countries. Wake up, world. We're all right. I only vote Christian because I am one, even though we're all right here.

A lot of religions preach and present themselves as better than the rest, but in practice, they still dwell in ancient practices and have not evolved. Most of them do not even acknowledge their dark ages and are ignorant of how globalization has made the world one big family. Practicing Christians are open about their past and have moved on. The church has made amendments and has progressed, unlike most religions, where they still stick to medieval or pre-medieval mindsets.

Christianity is based on a few simple principles, and unlike most religions, it does not impose restrictions which make its followers fanatical.

It is the message of love and compassion.

I vote for Christianity, as I believe in the message and way of life. Following closely to Christianity would be Buddhism and Hinduism.

4 Hinduism Hinduism is an Indian religion or dharma, a religious and universal order to which Hindus abide. It is the world's third-largest religion, with over 1.2 billion followers, or 15–16% of the global population, known as Hindus. The word Hindu is an exonym, and while Hinduism has been called the oldest... read more

Religion is nothing but teachings or a path to reach the ultimate goal called Self Realization. I believe Hinduism teaches one or shows the path in an easier way. It never pushes anyone to convert nor thrusts its teachings upon anybody. It simply passes its message, and that is how it should be. Not to mention anybody, but can anybody convert into any so-called religion just by speaking some verses, typing something, or following certain things? What is religion, friends? It's simply a teaching style. It's all about attaining ultimate peace. That's what the great Gautam Buddha also taught. He taught us to go beyond the Zero, which means going beyond good or bad, going beyond everything where there is nothing but blankness. Experiencing this blankness while in our physical form is the ultimate peace.

Most of us are so entangled in wrong egos, wrong faiths, etc., that we even forget what we are speaking. For example, anything apart from us, but if we claim possession of it, we say, "This is mine." This shirt is mine, this trouser is mine. And we look at all those items differently and clearly as an object or thing that is not me. Because if the shirt we are wearing would have been me, then I would have said, "That's me" or "This is me." But since it's not me but a different object that I possess, I say, "This is mine." Similarly, we forget what we say about our body. We say, "This is my hand," we say, "This is my body." My limbs are paining, my stomach, my eyes, etc. We never say, "This is me." If somebody asks us whose hand is this, pointing at our hand, we say, "This is mine." We never say, "This is me." It means that thousands of years ago, people who invented or created words to communicate and refined them clearly knew what they were speaking. It means they were aware. But today, we use all those words without even understanding what we are saying. We just use the... more

5 Buddhism

Actually, Buddhism is not a religion. It's actually a vision. It tells us the great truth that rules the whole universe, the concept of cause and its result. There is no other vision that gives such a beautiful idea. No god takes part, no actual influence to follow this vision. It's free to everyone, and you can feel it if you like. If you go by what the Buddha found, surely you can understand what is the actual truth inside our lives. It's more scientific and even deeper. But other religions are more populated today just because of their rules and fears. In Buddhism, we don't have them. This vision is for intelligent people to think. Buddha gave freedom to Buddhists with peace and harmony for everyone, ensuring the right of perfect living for every human and animal.

6 Jainism

Jainism is a religion of non-violence. It promotes peace in the world. But more importantly, it promotes peace within the self. It's the path that emphasizes the search for truth. It's logical and asks us to be logical. Nothing should be believed blindly.

It's about self-discipline and training. A path to achieve true happiness, which cannot be found in this material world.

It itself says that no religion should be tagged as the 'best'. And that a person needn't follow a religion to be a good person.

This is the oldest living religion. It's a spiritual path. No god is there who created us, and we ourselves are responsible for better or good.

7 Judaism

The happiest religion because its fundamental principle is to Love thy Neighbor as Thyself, regardless of his religion. One need not be Jewish to go to heaven. Just obey 7 universal laws, like not killing, not stealing, not being cruel to animals, etc.

Its adherents have gone on to the most amazing accomplishments: a huge percentage of Nobel prizes, violin virtuosos, chess champions, billionaires, philanthropists. We love each and every human being with all our heart. We thank God for His goodness, and that He grants us health, family, and prosperity. Saying thank you is our most important value, whether to humans or to God. Our second most important value is to constantly study and learn more. We are forbidden to say a bad word about anybody, even if true, unless for a valid purpose like when seeking info about a business partnership or match for marriage.

8 Catholicism

Catholicism mostly deals with the belief that there is one eternal, everlasting, and loving God who rules over all of space and time and created everything in the physical and spiritual world. It also teaches that humanity is the child of God and that God Himself sent His second form, the Son, to die in order to relieve humans of eternal damnation. It focuses on various virtues one is to possess in order to please God and teaches that there is life after death in the form of heaven, hell, limbo, and purgatory.

9 Spiritualism

There are things in this religion that I disagree with (just in my opinion, because I'm not part of any religion yet). However, I generally think this is the perfect religion for relaxation, contemplation, and wise action. To know yourself, you have to consider your beliefs and what your guardians taught you while growing up. What do you believe in? How do others feel when you try to manipulate them into joining a religion? Avoid having a large ego.

Saints, prophets, gurus, masihas (whatever name people associate with them), whenever they come into this world via miracles or normal ways like us, they come in a form like us. They come from the higher levels with a message from Almighty to come back home from this creation. People full of ego compare their teachings with the religion they were born and brought up in, and start being enemies and torturing them. Time passes, and other people make it another religion. Actually, no religion is made without a living master. Fortunate are those who learn to love a living form of God. Unfortunates will never believe that the Creator can come in human form. Think! This is the only form that can teach us humans. Spirituality is the only true way to travel inward back to home, leaving behind color, caste, religion.

10 Jediism

Jediism is a modern-day religion of modern-day principles. It respects human life and equality and allows its followers to go down its own path. It preaches calmness, patience, being mindful of your emotions, and doing good for those around you, amongst many other great things!

There is no emotion. There is peace. There is no ignorance. There is knowledge. There is no passion. There is serenity. There is no chaos. There is harmony. There is no death. There is the Force.

Organized religion is just a way for man to explain what is beyond his understanding. Jediism fulfills that need without the false pretense of being believable. My vote goes here.

The Contenders
11 Taoism

Daoism is a belief in finding one's self. You achieve understanding of yourself and the connection of the world around you.

Finding the obvious path in life and allowing your mind to remain calm and peaceful. Not only this, but discovering the balance of the world as well. By understanding balance in the world, you understand that there is a little good and bad in everything. The ideas of beauty have a little ugliness in them, just as the idea of ugliness has some beauty to it.

Daoism does not judge, and in not judging, we can find peace and balance not only in the world but in ourselves.

12 Shaivism

Branch of Hinduism, Shiva is considered the ultimate god above all. Shiva teaches love and devotion. He treats everyone equally and loves all. Good or bad, he is not easy to please, but if he is pleased by your devotion, you don't need anything else. He is considered Bhola (innocent). The book is Shiva Purana and many more. Worship all forms of Sada Shiva. There are 11 Rudras they worship and they worship Shiva mainly as Shivlingam. It's considered that meditation is the best way to reach God, and Shiva is considered the greatest meditator.

13 Scientology

Scientology is a religion that offers a path that leads to an understanding of one's true spiritual nature and one's relationship to self, family, groups, mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe, and the Supreme Being. The word Scientology means knowing how to know. So it is a practical way to knowledge and understanding of self and others. To me, this means relief from the conflicts and problems of day-to-day life interacting with the world around us. And a real understanding of the age-old questions, who am I? What is my nature? Am I a spiritual being or just an animal by nature?

14 Hare Krishna (ISKCON)

I have been searching for the path of Happiness which can give me happiness forever without ending within a short time or without depending on any mortal thing. I got to know that the path is only to Chant the holy name of God as- Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare. The continuous chanting gives the ultimate bliss, happiness, and extreme satisfaction to the devotee. The art of Chanting can be learned under the short guidance of Hare Krishna Devotees. The Founder of ISKCON has written many books on Krishna Consciousness, and the science of self-realization is explained, which is as per ancient Indian Literature. Hare Krishna. Arun Sharma, Gurgaon, India.

15 Wicca

Wiccans do not believe in Satan. We believe in God (in a way), but also a Goddess. We connect with nature. We put out love. We believe in Karma. We believe in spells, but only for good. Using spells (basically prayers and offerings, in comparison) for evil is not good at all, and we forbid it. The pentacle/pentagram has 5 points on the star - the top point represents the creator(s) and the bottom 4 represent the 4 basic elements. Satanists put the top point at the bottom, representing that the elements are stronger than the creator. We put the top point on top because the creator(s) are stronger than the elements.

Hope this cleared up some common misconceptions about Wicca.

16 Vaishnavism

This path of Hinduism instructs us to worship by looking after Balkrishna as our own child. The relationship between a mother and a child is the purest, without any selfish motive. We simply enjoy looking after our own child without any expectations. The idea is to dedicate our life to Him just because we love him, not for fulfilling our wishes in return for our prayers.

Dedication, trust, and love for Him are the most important emotions to develop a positive attitude in our life. Moreover, a vaishnav who feels happy by caring for Him will be so intrigued that he/she will achieve a state of satisfaction. Will there be any space for unhappiness? Nah. Happiness is contagious, and most vaishnavs achieve this state.

17 New Age

New Age - The Khalsa, The Army of the Creator
Believe in universal brotherhood
Defends human rights for all and considers the human race as one and equal,
Friends with everyone, no one a stranger.

It is the newest religion after there were lots of flaws that came into Hinduism and Islam. Guru Gobind Singh created this for the sake of humanity.

There is no bondage of religion. We all are creations of the supreme power, GOD.

18 Zoroastrianism

In olden days, people used to think the earth is flat & the sun revolves around the earth. Now nobody thinks so. Exactly like that, there was a period of religion in the intellectual evolutionary history of humanity. That period is finished. Now there is no need for religion. This is the era of science & humanism. No place for organized religions.

I like Zoroastrianism because Zarathustra never claimed that he is a prophet and his words are from God, unlike other prophets. He sought God through his wisdom. In Zoroastrianism, men and women are equal, and each person is free to choose his/her path based on his/her wisdom and righteousness. Zarathustra: (good thoughts, good deeds, good words)

19 Confucianism Confucianism, also known as Ruism, is described as tradition, a philosophy, a religion, a humanistic or rationalistic religion, a way of governing, or simply a way of life.

Confucianism is like a cross between Philosophy and Religion. The philosophical aspects are about focusing on the world and the here and now, rather than otherworldly things that are outside of our awareness, let alone our reach. The secular is the sacred. It is where our focus should be, and it is here that we seek to live a life of virtue towards ourselves and others. Yet, it has religious aspects such as holy days. It can accommodate different views of divinity, from Theist to Pantheist or Atheist, as historical Confucians with these different views have existed.

20 Rastafarianism

Another name for Christianity... Rasta believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit... They also believe that Haile Selassie is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ... They call God's name Jah... In the New World Translation you can see Jah in many areas... Check the index... They also believe in growing hair and locking it as a Nazarite vow.

I am a Reconstructionist Jew, and I'll vote for this one just because there aren't really any problems with it. It's associated with peace and love.

For when all the other religions become too much and you just want to peace out for a while.

21 Shinto

Very cool, pretty chill, has some cool lore, and torii gates go hard. It's pretty different from other religions in how there isn't a strict doctrine to stick by like Christianity and Islam. Although, it's practically region-locked to Japan.

A faith based on nature and life, and unlike Christianity, isn't strict, doesn't focus as much on your afterlife, and offers other amazing stuff! Too bad this religion is pretty much nonexistent outside of Japan...

The religion guides us to peace and forbids the eating of cats and dogs. It guides us to positivity.

22 Zen Buddhism

Jain religion totally emphasizes live and let live for all creatures on the earth.

Live and let others live is what the Jain religion emphasizes.

It is Jainism that believes in live and let live. One can learn the best values and principles from Jainism.

23 Spiritism

God has created this universe and humans are the brainy creatures God has created, but it's so amazing that people divided God according to their comfort and are fighting for its different names. They do not want to understand teachings in holy books which say that God is one and we are all children of one, instead, they are fighting here over which religion got the maximum number of votes. It's a shameful thing. Grow up and do some efforts for mankind, only then you can make your God happy.

I totally agree with this. It's humans who divided Gods as they required. I believe we are humans and should also have a religion called Humanity. Live & Let Live.

24 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism)

There is no other church so true in all the world. First of all, this is the only religion in the world that is organized the same way as how Christ organized His church. We believe that there was a great apostasy, but through Joseph Smith, this same Church of Jesus Christ was brought back to the earth. Though we have a prophet, he is not just a prophet to members of this church, but he is the prophet to the whole world. The prophet is chosen by God (called by God) to lead the children of Heavenly Father (every human being). Jesus Christ is the head of our church, the prophet being directly under Him. We believe in missionary work, and in bringing all of the lambs of God back to His fold. We are taught to give selfless service, and help all those in need, even our "enemies." There are so many gospel truths, I cannot list them all. If anyone desires to learn more about this true church, please consult our missionaries or the official Church website, lds.org. It is amazing how many people deliberately attack the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and you can be sure that any other sources you find on the internet are incredibly false, and are made to attack us.

25 Jehovah's Witnesses

I am not a Jehovah's Witness, but I will say that you don't have to personally witness something to believe in it. The simplest example would be something on Earth, like the North Pole. I've never been there. I've only seen it on a map, but I believe it exists. You can be a witness to something you believe exists, even though you've never seen it. Being a Christian, I believe God works miracles every day. My father-in-law was diagnosed with bladder cancer in April and confined to a nursing home. The doctors were hesitant to even suggest chemotherapy for him at the age of 87. But they did, and he has responded to it so well that while he isn't cured, he is at least able to go back home and live in his house and not be burdened by having to spend his life savings to live in a nursing home. I feel God's hand has been upon him, and this is not an isolated incident by any means. It's somewhat tougher to believe in hard times, of course, but life is such an incredible thing in itself that I've always believed there has to be a Creator behind it, and who better than someone who could die and rise from the dead?
