Best Rock Songs by The Beatles

The Top Ten
1 Helter Skelter

When you say 'Rock' in the literal sense of the word, Helter Skelter truly Rocks! I just don't agree with what you said that 'all of their songs are really mediocre,'.. do some more research on their songs.. Come Together, A Day in the Life, Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite, Ticket To Ride, Eight Days A Week, I Feel Fine...and more

This is the first true metal song. The Beatles influenced every genre of music in my opinion. And when Ringo says "I got blistas on me fingas" it is one of the most epic moments in music history.

I really don't like the Beatles, all of their songs are really mediocre, well almost all of them, this is one of the best songs I have ever listened to, at first I really didn't believe it was from the Beatles

It's awesome! One of the best songs by The Beatles. They even named a amusement park ride after this song!

2 While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Its genuinely moving. Enjoyable for every kind of person. Whether you like rock or jazz or gospel. It's the song of this generation and every other to come. If you haven't heard this song, you haven't lived life.

This deserves the first place... The music is so mysterious and you literally close your eyes and indulge in another world of musical heaven!

This is my #1 Beatles song. There is no doubt. I've listened to this countless times, and like gospel, rock, or jazz, this one's an all-around favorite.

Stunning guitar solo by Eric Clapton. Hugely ambitious and excellently delivered.

3 Revolution

The heaviest and most political song made by John Lennon while when he was wirh The Beatles, amazing riff and excellent yelling

This one sends a message of a time as a protest tune. One of John Lennons best.

Demonstrates John's true genius and broad social consciousness.

My favorite song

4 Come Together

Number 3? Seriously? Nothing should touch 'COME TOGETHER' and it should be #1

This the coolest because it mixes rock and soul and blues all in one.

Very good but much better with Michael Jackson.

5 I Want You (She's So Heavy)

I first heard a cover of this song and then the original but it became (probably) my favorite Beatles song. It's one of their heaviest and most epic pieces. The cover I heard was by the metal band Coroner - I highly recommend it, it's very good. The double bass drum beat Coroner added to the instrumental outro sounds awesome to me. It's like a heartbeat or something like that. This cover confirms that The Beatles needed several more years in order to become a hard rock/metal band.

Based on the musical direction they were going in the end, if they had stayed together for just a few more years, not only are we talking about the greatest rock band ever, but we're also talking about the greatest hard rock band ever.

I have heard this song over 1,000 times and I still can't tell when it ends

I love this song! Long, concise message from John to Yoko, the bass from Macca is immense!

6 Don't Let Me Down

Love listening to this song and cannot do so without thinking of my lovely Wife...oooh the way she done me (what can you say to that? )

Thier best mellow rock song!

7 Twist and Shout

After the album "Beatles '65", well let's just say, drugs got in the way.

8 Happiness is a Warm Gun
9 Get Back

Nothing beats thier performance on the roof top performing "Get Back".

10 Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)

One of the few "Beatles" songs you can head bang to!

The Contenders
11 Hey Bulldog

Very cool song that showed early move from the Mersey best songs. It's the ring tone on my phone.. They clearly had fun recording the song.

Pound for pound this is the best rocker by the boys. The intro riff alone says it all! Lh

The guitar and growling bass make this an awesome rock song!

12 Help!

This is one of my favorites. It has a good beat to it.

13 I've Got a Feeling

Greats song lots of guitar and screaming

14 Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey

rocks. The guitar riff is beautimous

15 Yer Blues

This is thier best blues song.

This is their best song

16 A Day in the Life

Undoubtedly one of the greatest songs ever recorded!
John's vocals, Ringo's thoroughly satisfying fills, Paul's brilliant yet underrated bass lines and (of course) the "orchestral orgasms". Brilliance personified!

17 Paperback Writer

Great guitar sound with fantastic harmonies.

Great guitar work by George Harrison!

18 The End

I don't think "The End" should be number one, but it deserves a lot more love than 1% of the vote, which is where it's at as I cast my ballot. It's not only a nice little rock song, but there so much going on here, both musically and historically.

Historically speaking, as the name implies, it marked the last time all four Beatles were ever in a recording studio together. Musically, John, George, and Paul each get a two-bar dueling guitar solo... and they each show some chops too! There is a great story... maybe apocryphal and maybe not... about when it was John's turn to record his solo, Yoko started to follow him into the studio, as she always did by this time, and John stopped her. He did this one alone. He still had the John Lennon arrogance and he didn't want anything distracting him from doing a better solo than Paul and George. His solo is last in order (Paul goes first, and George is in the middle) if you want to compare.

It is also literally the only Beatle song ...more

19 Hey Jude

I really love the lyrics, it's so nice so beautiful in the ear I love it I hope I can hear the revive music of it... :>

Nice tune and lyrics

20 Ticket to Ride
21 Back in the U.S.S.R.

This was "The Beatles" answer to the "Chuck Berrys" "Back In The U. S. A. "

Are you kidding? This is one of their best true rock songs.

22 Something

A fantastic George Harrison composition which deserves a higher one spot on this list. It is as good as While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

23 Tomorrow Never Knows

Too me this is the first 1990's style Alternative song, like a Nirvana or Soundgarden kind of song. The Doors where the first band to play this kind of music on most their songs.

It brought about a new era of music, and was well ahead of its time

One of thier first rock hits, and cool to listen to.

24 I Saw Her Standing There

This was a great song to start out there catalog of albums. Killer start to Please Please Me in 1963. One of Pauls best!

I can really bop my head to this
