Top 10 Best Rock Songs of All Time

The Top Ten
1 Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

Bohemian Rhapsody, just like a classic, is divided into sections (3 to be specific). The song builds and builds, then bursts into the opera section before busting the dam wide open to the glorious full-on rock climax. Ultimately, it resolves itself as it began, with piano and vocal. Freddie Mercury's (Oh, I so wish he was alive, poor man) vivid and lively vocals, along with Brian May's signature guitar work, tie everything together perfectly. All in all, it's a total work of art.

I won't go on to say this song deserves to be on the top because it's for you to listen to it and decide. I am just voting for this one because it is so soothing, exciting, and brilliant: everything you need in a song. Queen was, and will be, one of the best rock bands. I would also suggest listening to The Show Must Go On, Love of My Life, Too Much Love Will Kill You, and Another One Bites the Dust.

2 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

I like this list. Many people do not agree with a few songs near the top. To me, that means that this list displays the varying opinions of what "good rock" is. Personally, I don't think 'Numb' should be No. 2 (I like other Linkin Park songs better), but I think that it proves that there is much variety in this genre. I agree with the popular opinion that 'Stairway to Heaven' is the best rock song ever. It is an interesting song. It is lengthy and of very good quality.

Stairway beats Bohemian Rhapsody by miles. It's more complex, the transitions are better, and the entire song is centered around one genre, rock. Bohemian Rhapsody couldn't do that, and that's my main reason for putting this song on top.

3 Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana

Anyone who thinks someone is a poser for listening to this track is the real poser. Nirvana is great and really rocks. All Nirvana tracks are good in their own way. Rock is the best.

This list disappoints me... old tosh like Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones shouldn't be on this list, and yet they clock up the top 5... This song deserves to be on TOP. Period.

This is a song that will make you jump up and down like there's no tomorrow. Great rhythm and guitar riffs. Too bad Kurt died so young. Nirvana could have been the best rock band ever with a lot of potential.

4 Second Time Around - Blue Cheer
5 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

Just because this isn't a classic doesn't mean it's worse than those in the top 10.

Not just the best rock but also the best song ever! It received two Grammys and several other awards. Green Day is the best band too! Greetings from India!

6 Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses

Has been one of my favorites for almost 12 years now. Anyway, how is Nickelback ANYWHERE NEAR the top 10? How is it anywhere near the top 1000 for that matter? One of the most disappointing bands ever compared to its popularity. Amazed to see that one of their songs has over 100 million views. Just doesn't compare to the hits.

From Slash's brilliant riffs to Axl's voice and lyrics... This song deserves to be at the top.

This song has been the world's favorite for a time! Come on! Make it to number one!

7 Back In Black - AC/DC

AC/DC is such an inspirational band and has pumped out many great hits, including Back in Black. I think this song has the potential to be the #1 rock song of all time!

8 One - Metallica
9 Kashmir - Led Zeppelin

Iconic bass line and riff. Legendary song.

10 Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N' Roses

This song is very great, but it seems a little bit overrated!

The Newcomers

? Pull Me Under - Dream Theater
? Ghost of Perdition - Opeth
The Contenders
11 For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica

I love this song because of the nice guitar riffs and great lyrics.

12 Tom Sawyer - Rush
13 Hey Jude - Beatles
14 Bring Me to Life - Evanescence

Favorite rock song, well, I don't know if Monster by Skillet is rock, but whatever.

15 Hotel California - Eagles

No. 16? Nah. This deserves to be among the top 5. Just listen to the song, and you will know why.

An addictive and mesmerizing song. Metaphorical lyrics, and one of the best riffs I've heard. Deserves to be at the top.

16 King Nothing - Metallica

Metallica is my favorite band and this is their best song. Although not all thrash metal is good (although a lot of it is), this makes you wonder how this kind of music could be bad!

17 Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
18 Black Dog - Led Zeppelin

Black Dog is the best song ever, and Led Zeppelin is the best band ever!

19 Numb - Linkin Park

Wow, I just voted for this song and it suddenly went to the top place. Aside from that, this song is amazing. Linkin Park never really came to do this sort of music again after 'Meteora'. Because of this, I seriously considered voting for Evanescence's 'Bring Me To Life', but then I remembered that the same thing happened to them. Ben Moody left, and the music changed. I think the music industry has died. That might seem harsh, but I haven't found music from after 2007 that I really enjoyed.

Are you kidding me? This is the best rock song ever. It should be crowned the top place on the list. Just listen to this song. I am sure you will like it. It is also the best song of Linkin Park. Now, let it go higher.

20 Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

Looking at the list and finding Comfortably Numb at 19, I find this list irrelevant.

One of the best Pink Floyd songs out there. Deserves to be higher.

Counts also because of the live versions.

21 The Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin

This song is amazing! With its blood-chilling intro that picks up and gets extremely heavy and awesome. Not to mention the clever melodic uses in Ben's voice with the well thought out drum and guitar parts, this song mixes together all that is good in rock. In fact, Breaking Benjamin does that with pretty much all of their songs. Just because they're not from the 80s doesn't mean they aren't one of the best bands ever.

I love it! Breaking Benjamin is so underrated. They should not only have more popular songs but also be a more adored band!

22 Enter Sandman - Metallica

If you are talking about the best rock song, this one is the king of rock songs. Metallica's greatest creation. The guitar and drums are amazing.

23 Highway to Hell - AC/DC

Highway to Hell is much better than Linkin Park! Linkin Park isn't even rock.

24 Paradise City - Guns N' Roses
25 How You Remind Me - Nickelback

This song is just AWESOME! How is this not in the top 5? Numb? Come on, guys! If someone had some real sense of music, they would put this song on the TOP! Awesome lyrics and great music, this song has everything in it!

Now, it's not like me to say sorry, but you know, now I'm waiting on a different story. You'd seriously better know what that meant, or else!

Cool song, it gives you another view of the world. You know what I mean!
