Top 10 Best Rockstar Video Games

The Top Ten
1 Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption's achievements still rival that of Grand Theft Auto V's. The landscape was beautiful, to say the least, and the mere addition of moving grass and trees that sway in the wind in a game made three years ago still outweighs most open-world games made today. The sound effects and gun mechanics are the best of any game I have ever played, even better than those of Grand Theft Auto V. The scenery of RDR was a pleasure to ride through. To this day, I have not played another game where I would optionally take a horse instead of skipping to the destination. And if you YouTube some good Western music and ride your horse just around the entrance to a town, you can truly feel like a real Western badass.

2 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Perfect. I love this GTA, and the game's videos. I really miss the time when YouTube had many mysteries and machinima videos of this game.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is one of the best open-world games, along with other Rockstar titles like Red Dead Redemption, the Grand Theft Auto series, L.A. Noire, and others. It's one of the best games of the 21st century so far, as well as of all time. It is the best-selling game for the PlayStation 2 and of 2004.

San Andreas took all the great things from previous Grand Theft Auto games and revamped them, as well as adding new features you couldn't do before, like swimming and flying a plane. The world was bigger than Grand Theft Auto III's Liberty City and Vice City, because San Andreas is a state made of three cities and not just one.

This game has many different gameplay styles that make it a complete game, including driving, shooting, and even stealth in some missions. Since it's an open-world game, there is plenty to do besides the main story. You can drive around the whole state of San Andreas, killing everyone to get a high wanted level and evade police, the FBI, helicopters, and SWAT teams. You can even drive a tank.

The state of San Andreas is a perfect recreation of California, and Los Santos represents Los Angeles, San Fierro represents San Francisco, and Las Venturas represents Las Vegas, Nevada. The game has a great story about a former gang member who returns home after his mother was murdered as a result of gang violence. As the game progresses, he rebuilds his gang and reunites with his old friends and learns the truth about his mother's murder. The plot borrows elements from real-life Los Angeles events such as the Los Angeles Riots, the cocaine business of the 1980s, and the Crips vs. Bloods gang rivalry.

This game is well received by both critics and gamers, selling over 25 million copies. It has been the source of much controversy for the sex, drugs, and violence in the game, as well as a previously hidden sex mini-game created by Rockstar Games. 3 Grand Theft Auto V

Set in Los Angeles and rural California, you have a world to explore, larger than San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption, and Grand Theft Auto IV combined. You have a story that takes roughly 25-30 hours to complete, with an amazing storyline, to say the least. Three hilarious characters to use, countless Easter eggs, and mini-games. You have a virtual internet to browse with a stock market, purchasable vehicles, and a wide selection of weapons. You have an online experience that is impossible to beat. It never ends. Countless missions, side jobs, vehicles, and weapons for purchase, races, games, heists, everything you can imagine.

4 Bully

This game is literally the meaning of an awesome game. It's the reason I fell in love with gaming. The story is awesome, the open-world is awesome, the missions are awesome, the characters are awesome. Everything from the smallest to the biggest detail here is awesome. If you have not played this, I will officially declare you a crazy lunatic.

This personally is the greatest game. I have never been bored playing this game. And imagine the sequel of this game, "Bully: College Edition," where he goes to a college university, and he can go to parties, play beer pong, and like join a frat, run away from cops. I would buy that game if it was 200 bucks!

5 Grand Theft Auto IV

The player's connection to Niko's story can't be compared. The player feels everything he feels, and the connections he makes in Liberty City make you feel just as connected. I prefer sticking to the single character rather than multitasking with three. You don't build the same rapport that you would with just a single one. Environment, character goals, and missions make this game an all-around perfect one.

It has the best story to date that any game could possibly provide, the best graphics, and such a lively and graphically excellent setting of New York. And the best and most funny script. Well, this can continue for hours. It clearly deserves number 1, and above that, if anyone has not played it, get it right away now and jump into the fun.

6 Red Dead Redemption 2

Best game ever. Such a phenomenal experience. Arthur Morgan, the man who was initially hated by everyone from the trailer, turns out to be one of the best, most well-developed and in-depth characters of all time.

Not to mention the sheer amount of playable content inside the game that feels so advanced compared to most games, yet so dearly close to us as we can relate so much to it. The conflict within this game is very well executed and feels surreal. All Arthur ever knew was faith in Dutch and his ideals, which falters gradually over the course of the game. We see more pieces of the puzzle as hypocrisy, selfishness, and egoism are revealed in Dutch, the very man Arthur knew as a saint, who is really just a fraud and a scam artist who's good with words.

Overall, I love this game, and I think Arthur Morgan is the best Rockstar character ever.

7 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

What's better than a game filled with murder, violence, and cleaver-wielding butchers? This game deserves #1. It has the best protagonist ever in Grand Theft Auto history and the most fun and in-depth story ever created.

This game is much better than Grand Theft Auto 3 and 4. This game deserves to be the best game of all time.

The best game I have ever played. Who has not played the game must play it. You will be the crazy master of the whole city.

8 Max Payne 3

The best game ever, with a good story, and you feel for the character Max as he endures the worst of his life. Sad, but an amazing story. The graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is superb!

One of the finest themes, very planned and interesting missions with mind-blowing effects. I love to play the multiplayer edition. Surely one of the best!

By far the best game with an epic story as usual. It should be on the top of the list.

9 Grand Theft Auto III

This game got me into Rockstar and the sandbox genre. This game also invented the sandbox genre where driving and shooting are the main things to do.

This should be in the top ten, much more than Red Dead Redemption. It put Rockstar on the map and is an extremely influential game.

10 L.A. Noire

It's an underrated game because most of the players prefer action and multiple shots on screen rather than thinking and getting to a logical conclusion. For those players, Grand Theft Auto is the best option, but for those who love investigation and mystery, L.A. Noire is the best game of Rockstar!

It's a ridiculously long game if you do all the cases and side missions (which are ALL fun!) and the voice acting and music is second to none. The interrogation is a great concept and it's pulled off extremely well. It's a steal at the price you can find it at!

The Contenders
11 Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Best racing game of 08. This game beats all of the NASCAR games except Thunder 2004 and 2005 Chase for the Cup, which are slightly better. I love pissing off traffic, and they get angry when you ram into them. It's funny!

One of the best racing games of all time.

12 Max Payne

It's also a good game. The best game I had minor expectations for. It just had so much to do in it, an awesome story, and a good multiplayer. Single-handedly the best cowboy game ever made. This game is awesome. I loved the film, and Rockstar managed to maintain the dark side of the film throughout the game.

Great game and can't wait for the Max Payne 3 release! It's a great one-person shooter and is a lot like Rockstar's game style. There's a lot of story to it, and the mix between this comic book style kind of noir genre gave the game its uniqueness. If you like Grand Theft Auto and Bully, you'll like this, and I think you should definitely look out for Max Payne 3 this year. It's amazing!

13 The Warriors

A cool and badass masterpiece that's full of mayhem. One of those rare games that does the film justice. I have played through the game multiple times and it's always entertaining. The atmosphere is incredible and just about perfect in every aspect. "Can You Dig It?"

This game is awesome. I loved the film, and Rockstar managed to maintain the dark side of the film throughout the game.

You can tell this list is mostly voted on by little kids because Warriors should definitely be top 5, and Grand Theft Auto 5 shouldn't even be in the top 10. They even got the trash game L.A. Noire above this, shaking my head.

14 Bully: Scholarship Edition

The "characters" in this game were suitable. There are many shouting people. The Don is first represented as Ted's friend. At last, his friend is represented as the school Don.

One of Rockstar's best Teen Rated games ever! It contains violence, but not guns. Classes, bikes, skateboards, girlfriends, and more! And with the extra missions and classes, the improved version of the PS2 game has come out to be a success!

This game is just amazing. I feel like I'm Jimmy and I'm going to blow up the whole school with my stuff. Great job, Rockstar. This game just reminds me so much of my high school time.

15 Manhunt

This game is good because of how violent it is.

One of the best horror games ever made.

16 Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare

Okay, it's not as good as the first, but this was my first Rockstar game. I was allowed to play it because it was the only M-rated one without strong sexual content, so I will vote for this.

I have always loved zombies, so this was the perfect game for me!

This game has it all: zombies, cowboys, horses of the apocalypse, and John Marston. Could this game get any better?

17 Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
18 Midnight Club 3

In my opinion, I think MC3 is better than Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

This was my childhood, grabbing my PS2. No internet, playing the PS2 when everyone was playing the PS3. Ah, those were the dark days.

19 Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne

How the hell is this game not on the list?

Awesome game, I like it very much.

20 Manhunt 2
21 Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

The ambiance was so great. I perfectly remember this game with much nostalgia.

22 Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony

Adding all weapons at the start of the game, parachuting, and no constant calls from Roman since you are Luis. How is this not in the top ten?

I had a lot of trouble playing this game, so I put it down, but it was awesome. I just failed at it.

Much more fun than Grand Theft Auto IV or LATD, but the story sucked.

23 Red Dead Revolver

This game was decent at most and forgettable, but it paved the way for Red Dead Redemption, so I'll give it points for that.

24 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Awesome game! Vice City - my favorite city in the Grand Theft Auto series!
