I was ready to buy a Les Paul Standard for $400 more until I played this guitar. The Les Paul had some cosmetic problems, especially on the fretboard, also a few of the frets looked like they were put in by a drunk! All I can say about the Yamaha is immaculate, both in build quality and sound. Sorry Gibson, looks like your quality is hitting rock bottom. You can only ride the name so far. Lots of quality guitar makers out there now. It's not 1950 anymore.
