This is a list of the best young actresses of today. I define that to be actresses under 30. Who are the actresses in the teens or twenties that you are truly impressed with? Who do you see as someone who will be around the canvas for a long time and who will develop into a great actress? Keira Christina Knightley is an English actress. She began acting as a child on television and made her film debut in 1995. She had a supporting role as Sabé in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and her first significant role came in the psychological horror film The Hole. I see great potential based on the last few years of her performances. From her Academy Award-nominated performance in Pride & Prejudice to her quietly brilliant performance in The Edge of Love, Keira shows that her acting is maturing and her range is increasing. She knows how to employ different acting styles and is able to emote in subtle ways.
She also had the guts to make her stage debut at 24 and was nominated for the prestigious Olivier Award. Easily one of the actresses you either love or hate, one thing is undeniable: few are indifferent to this young actress.
Saoirse Úna Ronan is an Irish and American actress. She is a two-time Academy Award nominee; receiving a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Atonement, and a Best Actress nomination for Brooklyn. Having seen Saoirse Ronan in both Atonement and The Lovely Bones, I made it my business to check out all of her films. She has such range for one so young. She's easily the best teen actress out there.
Saoirse is by far the best young actress (can we say under 17?) in her generation! She shows remarkable talent in The Lovely Bones and in her Oscar-nominated performance in Atonement.

The only reason she is at the bottom of the list is that in the last few years she hasn't really shown us her potential on film. However, Broadway has shown that this is one talented starlet!
