Top 10 Blind Guardian Opening Tracks

The Top Ten
1 Majesty - Battalions of Fear (1988)

This is my favorite speed metal song of all time - so fast and epic (7:30 min), aggressive, melodic, awesome. Fantastic chorus, riffs, vocals, solo. And this masterpiece was on their debut album! Bravo!
"Majesty" is based on "The Lord of the Rings" by J. R. R. Tolkien - Hansi noticed Tolkien before everybody else in the popular culture and way before the movie.
The song opens with a barrel organ version of the waltz "The Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss II.

2 Sacred Worlds - At the Edge of Time (2010)

It was written for the video game Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.

3 The Ninth Wave - Beyond the Red Mirror (2015)
4 Banish From Sanctuary - Follow the Blind (1989)
5 Time What Is Time - Somewhere Far Beyond (1992)
6 Into the Storm - Nightfall in Middle-Earth (1998)

One of their most intense songs, so powerful.
I don't count "War of Wrath" - technically it's the first listed track but it's not a song and is only 1:50 min long.

7 Traveler In Time - Tales from the Twilight World (1990)
8 This Will Never End - A Twist in the Myth (2006)
9 Precious Jerusalem - A Night at the Opera (2002)
10 Imaginations from the Other Side - Imaginations from the Other Side (1995)

Some Blind Guardian fans believe this is their best song so give it a listen and decide for yourself - I may underrate this song.

The Contenders
11 War of Wrath - Nightfall in Middle-Earth (1998)

"War of Wrath" is a very short and unusual intro to this concept album (only 1:50 min long) and it's not a song - it contains battle sounds and spoken lines. But I added it for people who may think this is the opener and not "Into the Storm" (the song that follows).

12 Inquisition - Follow the Blind (1989)

A very short intro piece 0:40 min, which is a Gregorian chant. It's before the song Banish From Sanctuary, which makes sense because Banish From Sanctuary has a religious subject.
