Top 10 Disney Songs from the 1990s

MegaSoulhero
Throwing it back to the 90s. The 90s had some of the best Disney songs so here is a list of Disney songs that I really like from that decade.

The Top TenXW

1Go the Distance - Hercules

I have a very strong hatred for Hercules. But I'd be lying if I said I hated everything about it. I mean, how could such an awesome song be put in such a terrible movie? This isn't just the best Disney song from the 90s, it's the best Disney song of all time! This song tells you that you if you search far enough, you can be victorious. You're probably asking if I like the movie version better or the Michael Bolton version better. Who cares? They're both great. This movie still sucks but at least something amazing came from it. - MegaSoulhero

2Hellfire - The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Judge Frollo is my favorite villain to appear in Disney movie. He also has the best villain song ever. Frollo basically sings about how he wants Esmeralda to be his and if she doesn't accept then she will be sent to hell. This is a kids movie, right? Many people consider this to be the darkest moment to ever come from Disney. And I can see why. The dark tone is definitely what I like about this song. It's great to see Disney try these things. This song was almost cut from the movie, but I'm glad they kept it in. - MegaSoulhero

Thank you for putting this so high on the list. It's an incredible musical number. Everything about this scene in the movie is great. - BKAllmighty

3Colors of the Wind - Pocahontas

Let me ask you something. Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Me neither but this song is still magnificent. The movie is not very good but the redeeming thing about it is the soundtrack. Colors of the Wind is one of Disney's best and the singer has such an amazing voice. This is definitely something amazing about the film. Not like that one scene where Pocahontas suddenly learns English just because the plot calls for it. I mean, that was some of the laziest screenwriting in film history. - MegaSoulhero

4I'll Make a Man Out of You - Mulan

Let's get down to business and talk about how awesome this song is. First of all, even when disguised as a boy, Mulan is hot. As for the song itself, it is very epic and inspires me to keep training to become a real man. This song is so great that me and one other person performed this song together for a school performance. I almost forgot to include this song on the list because I forgot Mulan came out in the 90s. This song is great and mysterious as the dark side of the moon. - MegaSoulhero

Also glad to see that this is quite high. The best song from the movie. - BKAllmighty

5A Whole New World - Aladdin

A Whole New World is a duet sung by Aladdin and Jasmine. Aladdin takes Jasmine on a magic carpet ride (cue Steppenwolf song) and they travel the entire world in only a few minutes. Don't know how that's possible, but it's Disney. This is definitely the best duet in Disney. The singers are great and the entire song just seems so magical. In the stage show, Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at Disney California Adventure, this song is performed while the carpet flies over the audience. I doubt that Frozen will have anything that amazing when it comes to DCA. - MegaSoulhero

6When She Loved Me - Toy Story 2

Who knew a song in a Pixar film would be so sad? I dare you to try to listen to this song without crying. This song tells the story of how Jessie's original owner grew up and abandoned her. The tone of this song definitely makes us feel bad for her. There have also been theories going around that Jessie's original owner was Andy's mom. Honestly, I find that hard to believe. It could be true, though. - MegaSoulhero

7Friend Like Me - Aladdin

I can't listen to this song without shedding a tear. I still miss Robin Williams. He was such an awesome guy. Also, this song has such a catchy tone. Sometimes I sing it when no one is around. I also love seeing this song performed in Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at Disney California Adventure. At least, I did until they decided to replace the show with Frozen. This song is awesome. We ain't never had a friend like Robin. - MegaSoulhero

8Be Prepared - The Lion King

Are you prepared for this one? Scar is one of Disney's greatest villains. He is scary, he is intimidating, and he even kills his brother. But he doesn't kill Simba as I mentioned in my Top 10 Plot Holes in Disney Movies list. One of the things that Scar is known for is his song, Be Prepared where he explains that he shall become king once he gets rid of Mufasa. Jeremy Irons does sing most of the song himself but threw out his voice near the song's end, so Jim Cummings had to finish for him. - MegaSoulhero

This song sucks on many levels... Plus, overrated as heck. Why does everyone love it so much, worse, they want every villain/lackey from every movie or such sing this song?

9You'll Be in My Heart - Tarzan

This one was one of my favourite songs as a kid. I remember I couldn't stop singing it after I saw it in theatres. I think my parents regretted taking me to see it a little bit because of my insistence on singing this song day in and day out. Of course, Phil Collin's music video played on the Disney Channel (Family Channel in Canada) all the time so I sang it for a long time afterwards. - BKAllmighty

Phil Collins writes such great songs. Tarzan is what got me into Phil Collins's music. This song, in my opinion, is one of his best. This song basically says whatever happens to someone you love, they will always be with you. Phil Collins won an Oscar for this song and he definitely deserved it. In your faces Trey Parker and Matt Stone. - MegaSoulhero

10Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast

I know, it was kind of unnecessary to put the title of the movie along with the song title for this one because they share the same title but whatever. Beauty and the Beast in the film of the same name is definitely a very memorable song. It's sung by Mrs. Potts and was covered by Celine Dion but who cares about her? This song is very famous because it's the song that plays during the popular ballroom scene in the movie where Belle and Beast are dancing together. This scene will forever be an amazing moment in Disney. - MegaSoulhero
