Top 10 Most Emotionally Intense Vocal Performances by Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards)Metal_Treasure Hansi Kürsch always sings like there's no tomorrow and the listener feels that. His voice is very expressive and his ability to communicate every emotion is unmatched.
He's also the singer with the most impressive tonal versatility I've ever heard - while some singers sound the same regardless of what they sing, Hansi may sound different even within one song thanks to his wide range of intonations.
The Top TenXW
You just have to hear that. Shivers up and down my spine. One of the greatest vocal performances I've ever heard. - Metal_Treasure
What can I say? Two words - hands down. "Release me from my pain...". - Metal_Treasure
This is probably my favorite Blind Guardian song and the main reason is Hansi's intense and beautiful vocal - a power plant for deep emotions from start to finish. I have to admit I didn't notice and didn't like this song instantly - I guess I wasn't ready for it.
The whole song is amazing but there are some extra beautiful details:
At the beginning Hansi hits such a low note that you hear vibrations coming from his voice (I think the note is C2 or close to it). Later at 2:30 his vocal is something to die for, again. - Metal_Treasure
Here Hansi uses several voice intonations to express his emotions - angelic, melancholy, innocent, ghostly, funeral, dramatic and harsh voices.
In this song there's also a great scream at the end, before the guitar outro - a long and beautiful scream full of emotion. I think this insane scream represents the pain of the body when the soul leaves it. Then pain goes away. - Metal_Treasure
A Judas Priest cover. The original is very emotional and perfect but Hansi added even more intensity to it (in the choruses).
His 2nd chorus is outstanding (2:15) - the amount of emotion he puts in the line "Keep the world with all its sin" is so immense that even scares. - Metal_Treasure
The live version from Tokyo is actually the most intense version of this song:
Blind Guardian - Lord of the Rings (Tokyo Tales).
It's also one of the best live vocal performances out there. This is how a singer should sound live. There are only 2 singers whose live performances are often better than the studio versions - Steve Perry and Hansi Kürsch. - Metal_Treasure
One of the most unique Blind Guardian songs. It's an odd song and for that reason I had to hear it several times. But it's awesome and emotionally very intense.
Also check out the acoustic version - amazing, too. - Metal_Treasure
This one also leaves me in awe - Hansi's most beautiful vox by far (or second after Fiddler On The Green).
He starts with very soft angelic voice, showing vulnerability and melancholy of Pink Floyd type. Then the mood gradually changes and Hansi's voice explodes. - Metal_Treasure
The first 2 minutes are most interesting - I really like Hansi's ghostly and psychotic vocals, hitting the emotional climax when he shouts "On Fire! "
One of my favorite songs from the new 2015 album. - Metal_Treasure
Amazing ballad - one of the most beautiful and soulful songs I've ever heard. - Metal_Treasure
