Italy has had a much better football history than Germany. Should definitely be #1. We have killed Germany in head to head matches, 15 - 8. Our defense is unbreakable (Maldini, Baresi, Nesta, Cannavaro), and our attack is magic (Baggio, Del Piero, Zola, Vieri). Pirlo is a maestro of the midfield. Italy is a clear #1.
