1 Velvet Underground

My vote must go to these underappreciated geniuses. The Velvet Underground and Nico is a fantastic album.

2 King Crimson King Crimson were a British progressive rock band that was formed in 1969. While the band has had numerous lineup changes, the head of the band has always been Robert Fripp (guitar). However, the most notable lineup is between 1972-75, consisting of Fripp, John Wetton (bass/vocals), Bill Bruford (drums), and David Cross (strings/keyboard). The band is most well-known for their debut album "In the Court of The Crimson King", with which they made a large impact on the progressive rock genre.
3 Frank Zappa Frank Vincent Zappa was an American musician, songwriter, composer, record producer, actor and filmmaker.

Frank Zappa has also written some excellent modern classical.

4 Death Grips Death Grips is an American experimental hip hop band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2010. The group consists of vocalist MC Ride, drummer and producer Zach Hill, and recording engineer Andy Morin.

Okay, okay, I can see how they might be a bit low. They are, after all, somewhat underground. But really? Linkin Park? Really? A band that does not experiment outside of their own genre with an unoriginal sound over the kings of turning samples into something fresh and original?

5 Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

Awesome band.I especially like Paranoid Android,No Surprises and Karma Police.

Good band but not Experimental

Over her four-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on influences and genres including electronic, pop, jazz, experimental, trip hop, alternative, classical, and avant-garde music.

After "Selmasongs", the pop aspect has completely vanished. In the meantime, she does almost meditative genreless music that needs to be felt and experienced.
