Top 10 Best Female Super Mario Bros. Characters

The Top Ten
1 Princess Peach Princess Peach is a major character in the Mario Bros. Franchise. She is the lead female of the The Mario franchise. She is usually the character who needs saved in most Mario Games, but also has appeared as a playable character in the Main-Series Mario Games, including Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario... read more

I was on and off with Princess Peach. I always wanted to play her, but my neighbor would always take her from me. There was one point where I hated her. But now I like her again, and she's one of my favorite characters. A lot of people say that she just has no personality, but she does. It's canon Rosalina that has no personality.

First of all, she is classic (not as classic as Pauline though, lol). Second, if you've ever played Mario spin-offs, she does make some snarky comments from time to time, especially in Mario Strikers Charged. She's also really funny to play in the modern games because she performs well. She's very good in most Mario spin-offs. Go Peach (Daisy is better though)!

2 Rosalina Rosalina, known as Rosetta in Japan, is a major character in the Mario Franchise created by Nintendo. She first appeared in the 2007 Mario Game, Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii and later returned for the game's sequel in 2010. Since then, she has been featured in many main-series Mario Games... read more

Rosalina... I have a long history with her. When I first saw her in games, I absolutely loved her (I mean, what do you expect? I was young). I played her when I could up until about 2022, right around winter break. I started playing Daisy again because she was my second favorite character, and I had played her when I was little, and I wanted to see what playing her again would be like. Also, I was kind of tired of Rosalina.

So, I started to dislike her, but I'm just starting to like her again. Peach and Daisy are better, though. Canon Rosalina is okay, but if you've ever watched head canons, she is a good character.

3 Toadette Toadette is a character in the Mario series. She is a female Toad who first appeared in the Nintendo GameCube video game Mario Kart: Double Dash.

So underrated. I don't really play her, but she's cute! If you watched head cannons, she is a really good character! I wish they'd give her more personality. Go Toadette! (Sorry, but Peach, Daisy, and Pauline are better though).

Toadette should be ranked higher than Princess Orange. I'm sorry, but Toadette is so underrated, and I personally think she should get more attention. She's cute, lovable, and memorable, and she has the only fan base that I haven't seen fight other female leads (oh wait, she doesn't have a fan base. Poor Toadette).

In conclusion, I think she should stop appearing as a host in Mario Party games and become more popular. Thank you, Nintendo, for adding her as a playable character in Super Mario Bros Deluxe, but now she has a lot of hate on her because of the whole Peachette thing, and it annoys me.

4 Princess Daisy Princess Daisy is a fictional character in the Mario series of video games, in which she is the princess of the fictional region of Sarasaland.

Daisy debuted in Super Mario Land in 1989, after few other appearances she disappeared for nine years until she was brought back in Mario Tennis (2000).

Underrated! I grew up playing her because my neighbor would always play as Peach, and she had a Wii, so there was no Rosalina in the games yet. I am slightly biased. I just love her spunky personality and how she seems like she could be a real person.

She looks and acts the most original out of the three princesses. She is also very good in many Mario games like Mario Tennis Aces. She is the kind of character with whom you can actually form a connection. Go Daisy!

Prettier than every other female character combined. I hate all other females (other than Baby Daisy and Pauline). Daisy is the only one who actually seems like she could be a real person. The others just seem too fantasy-like and ridiculous.

Rosalina and Peach are girly. Daisy is a tomboy. My fangirl-ism of Daisy has gotten so intense that I sometimes want to throw fans of Rosalina and Peach down a well full of lava.

Daisy is epic and awesome and a tomboy and pretty and smart and can actually defend herself. When she saw Bowser, she slapped him to the moon. When Peach gets kidnapped, she just sits there like the spoiled idiot she is and waits for Mario. Rosalina even needed Mario to protect her galaxy even though she had a wand.

Rosalina actually doesn't have powers. Just a magic wand. Anyone who holds that wand can then use its powers.

I don't see how people like Rosalina even though she is basically getting rid of ten characters.

In conclusion, I LOVE Daisy and I HATE Rosalina and Peach so much.

5 Pauline Pauline, also known as Daniella Verducci, is the original damsel-in-distress whom Mario must rescue from the eponymous ape in the original Donkey Kong.

Top 10 Reasons Why Pauline Is Better Than Princess Peach:

Top 1: Pauline has a much better voice than Princess Peach.

Top 2: Pauline has brown hair, Princess Peach has yellow hair. What the hell?!

Top 3: Her appearance is way better.

Top 4: She deserves to be in more games. I mean, come on! She's older! Unfortunately, she was made as a prototype.

Top 5: She is a much better character to rescue. This is why the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series is perfect.

A lot of people say she's underrated, but she's not really underrated anymore because everybody calls her underrated, haha. Great character, she's kind of like Daisy where you can relate to her. I love using her in Mario Strikers Battle League!

(It doesn't make sense why she's stronger than a turtle monster…). But still, GREAT character! S tier (I like Daisy and Peach better though).

6 Birdo Birdo is a dinosaur that is well known for her (or his) confused Gender. It was originally stated that Birdo was a male who believed he was a female, but this was changed in later games. Birdo is commonly referred to as a girl, however, they are in a relationship with Yoshi. Birdo first appeared in... read more

Birdo is my favorite because she's pink, she has a bow, she wears a diamond ring, and she is just so pretty. Plus, when I first saw her in a game, I loved her, and I didn't even know her background information. In Mario Golf, she was so cute when she lost! I don't know why so many people hate her. She's the best female Mario character. And Birdo is not a boy. She's a girl! I mean, if people like "other girls," then why not Birdo? I mean, Birdo wears a bow! She is the best and most fashionable girl.

This gal has a lot of ambition and her fair share of sass to go around. She is a sweet gal who loves shopping and loves to have fun.

7 Captain Syrup

I don't actually know how I found out about her. But I like that she is a pirate and has a competitive and devious personality. Her personality is kind of like Daisy's, so there needs to be a difference if she's going to be a good character.

She could have easily been put in Mario Tennis 64 instead of Waluigi, but Waluigi is a good character too. I hope she gets put in Mario Strikers Battle League because she is an older character. Go Captain Syrup!

Captain Syrup was the most devious and competitive girl you'll ever meet. She was mistaken for a princess once or twice, but she doesn't need a title to show gamers what she can do. Since she has appeared in mainstream games and became a popular character back in the 2000s, she could have been an easy replacement for Waluigi's debut in Mario Tennis.

8 Goombella

You'll use her the most in Thousand Year Door because of her tattle ability and bestiary.

9 Dixie Kong Dixie Kong is a character from the Donkey Kong series. She is Diddy Kong's girlfriend and Tiny Kong's older sister.

Dixie Kong is a unique and fun character. She shows adventurous sides, and yet she's just a normal girl. She doesn't let any obstacle stand between her and her goal.

Dixie Kong should be known more than she is. She is sporty and really athletic. If you have ever played Mario Basketball, she came in as a very handy team member. She is one of my favorite characters in the Mario series.

She is cool because she is Diddy Kong's girlfriend. Sadly, she is not in Smash.

10 Wendy O. Koopa Wendy O. Koopa is a female villain in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. She is the only female member of the Koopalings and is usually found assisting Bowser on his wicked plans with the rest of the Koopalings. She first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 in 1988 and since then has been a reappearing foe... read more

Wendy is said to be the most rebellious and sassy of them all. She's iconic but is spoiled, yet she has become a lovable character. She doesn't let anyone stand in her way of popularity and stardom.

Not afraid to speak her mind, she expresses her undaunted personality to the world. This fashionista thinks she has the whole world at her heels. Her trophy in Smash also states she sees Princess Daisy as a rival. Her sass versus Daisy's sass could mean big problems.

I love all the Koopalings, and my admiration for Wendy is no different. I have a friend who has a crush on her, hehe.

The Contenders
11 Vivian

Vivian is a very sweet young girl... Ish. (I'm going to go by the English translation.) Plus, she's hot, in a literal sense. I mean, sure, since she is a shadow, either she doesn't have a physically attractive body, but this is hardly relevant since this is based off character and not looks.

'baby Peach is forth at this point, and I hope that's based off physical attraction. In addition, she's a former enemy who you learn to pity then even feel emotionally sad for her having to face the torment of her sisters, and when she joins, you truly see what a sweet girl she is. And heck, fire and shadow abilities sound as well as womanly charms make a pretty cool partner to me.

Plus, she has just as much, if not probably more character than stereotypical damsels in distress, simplistic galaxy tour guides, and BABIES!

Plus: Pink and white striped wizard hat = Awesome

12 Mona

Mona is a girl from Wario Ware. She's a nerd and a Mary Sue.

Mona is cute...that's all I have to say.

I love Mona. She's actually an amazing character, though I wish Penny was on the list.

13 Tiny Kong

She's pretty, more so than Dixie. I love her perfect dancing skill.

I just like her design. I don't know much about her because she's not in many games, and I think she was created before I was born. I was born in 2006, so anyone wanna see if I'm right?

Hey Tiny, can I tickle your tummy?

14 Lady Bow

Best OG Paper Mario partner. Vivian is still better, but Lady Bow is cool. No one can beat Vivian anyway.

15 Pom Pom

I love the whole ninja thing. I also like fighting her, like the clone thing. Also, she's cool in Super Mario Party.

For some reason, I was obsessed with her. She's cool. NINJA!

16 Baby Peach Baby Peach is the infant version of the major character from the Mario Series, Princess Peach. She is mostly known for her appearances in the Mario Kart Franchise in Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8 as a playable character, but she also appears in other Mario games, including Yoshi's Island DS, in which... read more

Even though Peach sucks, Baby Peach though is better. She appears in four games: Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, Mario Kart, Mario Sluggers, and in the upcoming game, Baby Mario and Baby Peach.

Why are people hating on a baby? That's not nice. Poor Baby Peach has so much hate just because she "cries." She is very fun to play as in Mario Kart Wii, and I don't want people to be so mean. It makes me sad. Let's all give her some love.

I think Daisy is the girliest character ever in video game history. Baby Peach is deserving of the title of best female Mario character. I love Peach too. Peach for the world, same with Baby Peach.

17 Baby Daisy Baby Daisy is the infant version of the major character in the Mario Bros . franchise, Princess Daisy . She is known for her appearances as a playable character in Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8 . She is also found as a playable character in Super Mario Sluggers for the Wii .
18 Honey Queen Honey Queen (better known in Super Mario Galaxy as Queen Bee) is the queen of all the honeybees who is a very large bee and always talks nosism. She appears in both of the Super Mario Galaxy games, where she rules over all the honeybees in three different galaxies, and in Mario Kart 7 where she appears... read more

I just think she's cool. She doesn't have much going for her other than she was in Mario Kart 7, but still, she's cool, I guess.

19 Tippi

I haven't played Mario the Thousand Year Door (I'm going to when it comes out on Nintendo Switch), but I love her aesthetic. A lot of people say she is a good hero!

At first, she just seems like a typical secondary hero, but she has a lot of character development and a really deep backstory, like Bleck.

Her real name is Lady Timpani and she looks a bit like Peach, except for the dress.

20 Flurrie
21 White Mage

White Mage is a cute character. She has pink hair and a sweet voice, almost like Rosalina. If you play her in Mario Sports Mix, you will be amazed at how good she is as a character.

She's a Final Fantasy character, but she was in Mario Sports Mix.

She has the same stylish hair like Rosalina!

22 Mimi

She's very creepy in her boss fight, but otherwise the cutest Paper Mario antagonist besides General Guy.

Cute and creepy at the same time.

23 Ashley

Yes! She's classy and sassy! She's awesome! Too bad she's not in Smash yet...

24 Shokora
25 Noki from Super Mario Sunshine
