21Florence WelchFlorence Leontine Mary Welch is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. She is best known as the lead vocalist of the indie rock band Florence + the Machine.

Florence Welch has a nice strong chest voice and still maintains a light upper register. Though sometimes when she sings live she does not sing her high studio notes. That may be a performance choice. When Florence sings in live settings, her head voice and belts can sound a little uncontrolled due to her expressive singing style. But still, I love her voice and she is my favourite singer.

Other than having a very strong voice, she includes amazing expression with her songs that makes them astonishing.

Listen to No light, No light. This woman can hit a high note whenever she wants.

She is my goddess.

23Floor JansenFloor Jansen is a Dutch singer-songwriter and vocal coach. She is currently vocalist of Nightwish and leader of Revamp.

THE most versatile vocalist. Just not so well known because she is not a mainstream singer. She can really sing everything, from opera to grunting and in the most passionate way possible. She is peerless, a phenomenon, a true force of nature.

The goddess of metal, the versatility of her voice is unbelievable. Growls, pop, metal, opera, seriously she can sing anything and nail it every single time. For those of you unfamiliar with her I strongly suggest listening to Ghost Love Score, Romanticide, Energize Me, or her cover of Alone.

I love Floor Jansen's variability between warm and cold when necessary. Versatile vocalist. Not just repeating her voice but can adjust it.

If you are an Amy Lee fan you will love Floor. Equal to Amy in every way and a little more versatile Than Amy Lee.

30Ella FitzgeraldElla Jane Fitzgerald was an American jazz singer often referred to as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz and Lady Ella.

Perfect pitch. never sang a wrong note in her life

Oh my lord... a beautiful voice she had: Low but with very powerful, soulful tones. A perfect voice she had for jazz

31Barbra StreisandBarbara Joan Streisand, known professionally as Barbra Streisand, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and filmmaker.

Should be number ONE. Watch her videos over the years and you'll see why. It Had To Be You. Somewhere. My Man. Just to name a few. No one can sing like she does and no one ever will. Simply the best at interpreting and putting emotion into songs. Listen to "Just a Piece of Sky" or Since I Fell For You -- you'll see why she is so much better than these other singers.

Streisand is it. The power, the emotion, the control she has it in spades. Extraordinary vocal talent.

Will the rest of these vocalists be able to STILL HAVE "IT" through a few more decades like Barbra? I doubt it! She is Top Ten All Time!

Should be number 1--greatest female singer EVER!

One of the best singers of today. Why the hell is she below Katy Perry on this list? I love Katy Perry but even I can admit that Lady Gaga has a much better voice. Her Oscar performance alone proves that. Never mind her performance of Imagine at the Baku games, or her cover of You've Got a Friend, or any of her performances on the Cheek to Cheek tour, or her Sukkiri performance of Applause, or her performance of Edge of Glory at the European pride event, or her performance of Dope and Do What U Want on Chatty Man, (you see where I'm getting at? ) When it's just her and her piano, her performances are astounding and magical. She has an outstanding voice. And when it's not just her and her piano, her performances and vocals are still top notch.

In my opinion Lady Gaga has the best voice in music today, not many artists can sing lots of different genres of music, but Gaga can! She can sing pop, jazz, rock, opera and more! Her performances are so fantastic and iconic that the performances she did in 2009 are still remembered today! Her outfits are amazing and artistic. (Nobody else could pull of a meat dress! ) Gaga is the queen of music!

Gaga has a gorgeous, thick and warm tone that crosses genres from pop, rock, jazz and musical theatre. She has a fully connected 3.3 octave range (F#2 - G5 - C6) and a level mask resonance I haven't heard since Streisand. Technically her voice is one of the best in the industry and she is respected by her peers for both her vocal abilities and talent as a musician/songwriter.

List is pretty bogus.

38Carrie Underwood

Carrie's voice is so distinct and so unique that she is such a power house. I'm enamored with her voice and I've never heard anyone in this generation of artists belt out out music like Carrie. I don't know much of her music or albums but I know that no one compares to her.

Definitely needs to be higher on this list... Without a doubt. Talent alone, she beats a lot of them. Personality? Top!

Easily the best vocalist of this generation

Best voice in the world.
