Top 10 Flametal Songs

FLAMETAL was formed in 2004 by Benjamin 'Ben' Woods - a young and talented flamenco and metal guitarist, and songwriter from California. His playing is virtuosic and very creative - he sounds like a combination of Paco de Lucía, Yngwie Malmsteen, Slayer and Megadeth.

FLAMETAL combine real flamenco guitar and rhythms with very technical instrumental metal, where thrash, prog and neo-classical metal influences are heard. Don't worry, it's NOT awful, on the contrary - this weirdly awesome fusion of flamenco and heavy metal has been the most unique, most beautiful and most successful metal experiment for long, long time, in my opinion.

FLAMETAL released 4 albums with mostly instrumental pieces and I dare to say these are one of the best metal instrumentals out there.
Flamenco metal is probably a new metal subgenre but FLAMETAL is still the one and only band. The band is often labeled as progressive metal and there are reasons for that.

On some tracks you can hear several guest metal musicians:
Marty Friedman - guitar (Megadeth)
Glen Drover - guitar (Megadeth, Testament, King Diamond)
Marc Rizzo - guitar (Soulfly, Ill Niño, Cavalera Conspiracy)
Sean Reinert - drums (Cynic, Death)
Mike Bennett - drums (Ritchie Kotzen)

Albums: The Elder - 2005, Master Of The Aire - 2008, Heavy Mellow, vol. 1 & 2 - 2010, Flametal - 2014.
Mp3 albums with cover songs: Flametallica - 2015, Flametal Priest.
