Best Gaming Console Generations

It was such a great time period for gaming. Every game you would pick up would be unique and different, unlike games of today where they often blend in with each other. It offered a feel that no other console generation can match, and it was also the birth of online gaming, and introduced many people to gaming as a whole.

Great Games: Halo CE and 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Timesplitters, Tony Hawk's (Insert Thing Here), Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, Blinx, Metroid Prime, Spider-Man 2, Crash Twinsanity, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Mario Sunshine, DBZ Budokai and Tenkaichi, etc.

The 6th generation of video games is the best.i'm gonna get all 4 home consoles for that generation
1999:Sega Dreamcast
2000:Sony Playstation 2
2001:Microsoft Xbox
And finally 2001:Nintendo game cube

Gamcube... PS2.. I never owned and Xbox or a Dreamcast but these too consoles are awesome too me!

This is the most important in my mind, as the dawn of video games set the framework for what would come.
Also, something else I did-I attempted to put each "generation" into a more digestible format, by year. Here's the results, for those who want a different look at it:
1st generation: 1972-1977
2nd generation: 1978-1983
3rd generation: 1984-1987
4th generation: 1988-1991
5th generation: 1992-1996
6th generation: 1997-2001
7th generation: 2002-2006
8th generation: 2006-present
Note that this does not take into account even older attempts at video games, dating back to at least 1950, or the supposed 8.5th generation, which is lumped in with the 8th.
