Although relatively plastic as a band, the music has lived on well beyond any other bands of this nature. Top 100 of the era for sure

Still listen to their music now they are brilliant.

Warrant has so many good songs! So disappointed that its not in the top 10

Great band... listening to Dog Eat Dog now... Still holds up after 20+ years!

Had Two Killer Albums in the 80's...Their Debut "Night Songs" and Follow up "Long Cold Winter" with Both Albums Cracking the Top 10 in the Billboard 200..and combining to produce 3 Top 20 Singles...

Killer songs like nobody's fool, Somebody save me, Gypsy road, and lots more. They should be in at least the top 15. I am a huge fan of old school rock and roll and I am only 13 years old and this is my second favorite band.

Tom Keifer is one of the most talented musicians ever! Look at all the different instruments he can play! Add in his beautiful voice & absolutely gorgeous face. This band is in my top ten of all time!

How in the world are they in 57th place? This is the best 80s band in the world. Tom keifer is the best vocalist I've ever heard.

64 Blondie Blondie Blondie is an American rock band founded by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. The band was a pioneer in the early American new wave and punk scenes of the mid-late 1970s.

Debbie harry was talented and beautiful

Because they were more of a 70s band than an 80s band?

65 Stryper

The best glam metal band platinum and gold albums and just plain rock/metal awesomeness

Different - Rock/Metal and Christian

In God We Trust was pretty much the final chord in 80s music.
Sadly, I didn't hear much of them until later.

66 Men at Work

I was born in 82' so I obviously wasn't into the music scene enough to know if they ever received enough credit, but "Maria" is without a doubt one of my favorite songs. I have their greatest hits, I know snobs hate me all you want, but it's all amazing (like almost Paul Simon's Graceland good). I can't say that for all of my greatest hits compilations.

So much better than what is viewed I don't know what is up with this list. "Who can it be- now" has an amazing tenor sax and it is just a good band over all they should at least be in top 15 in my opinion.

Great Australian band and definitely should be given some more credit for their work!

Best 80's band. So many hits in a single band!

67 Twisted Sister Twisted Sister Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band originally from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and later based in Long Island, New York.

Amazing band, many great songs. They are a great inspiration to other heavy metal bands. They truly should be one of the top 10 because of the quality and effort that you can easily tell they put into their songs. You can tell that they really believe in what they sing, and what their lead singer Dee Snider writes.

They Are Sing About The Truth Too And They Keep It Raw

I love twisted sister! How are they #45!

69 Motorhead Motorhead Motörhead were an English heavy metal band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, who was the sole constant member; guitarist and songwriter Larry Wallis; and drummer Lucas Fox. The band's harsh vocals and fast paced tempos helped inspire speed metal and ...read more.

These were the dirty edge of British metal in the 80's. Very influential. Still making great songs " line in the sand"

Motorhead should be top 3. along with OZZY and W.A.S.P. This list makes no sense.

Well, they are in the wrong place. Those numbers should be switched and equal with 9 at least

70 Madness

Best group in the 80s by a bleeding mile

There's some band called Cinderella at number 30! Never heard of them! MADNESS are THE band of the 80's, National Treasures entertaining the British public since 1979... and still making new albums with all seven original members! LEGENDS

How on earth are Madness this low down the list? Biggest selling singles band of the 80's (and they were only around for just over half the decade! ) - hit after hit after hit - don't think they should be top but they should be well above a lot of the bland MOR/AOR that appears higher in this list

Cannot ever go wrong with Madness! Whether it is Must be Love OR Our House... they are great!

71 Cheap Trick Cheap Trick Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1973. As of 2010, the band currently consists of Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson and Daxx Nielsen.

Cheap Trick, to me, was the most underrated rock bands of the 80's

I'm 63 and still like to crank it up in my car with these guys. Their music sounds just as good as it did 30 years ago.

No doubt they were and are still underrated!

76 Adam and the Ants

Adam was my first love. What an amazing and truly original sound the Ants had, those drums were just astonishing. I learned so much from the songs about art, sex, tribes, pirates and the list goes on. Adam was all about style and somehow fused punk and the new romantics effortlessly. A true one off.

79 Toto Toto Toto is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Van Nuys in Los Angeles. The band's current lineup consists of Joseph Williams, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Steve Lukather, plus touring members Leland Sklar and Shannon Forrest.

What about Toto? Why on earth is Toto not of the first ten rock bands?! They are one of the most extraordinary rock bands of the 80's that ever existed! They are perfect! I like almost every song of them. I swear that I have heard them even before I was born! They are extraordinary!

Africa, Hold the Line, 99, Rosanna, Stop Loving You, and home of the brave are their best.

Toto only 899 th what should be in the top 40

The original members just matched up magically - a perfectly balanced blend of styles and delicate musicianship... great grooves & vibe
a VERY important band of the 80s - at least their single members left their signature in thousands of famous recordings
