Top 10 Greatest Jedi

The Top Ten
1 Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is the fundamental Jedi of the Rise of the Empire Era. His main focus is on lightsaber combat, his most used Force ability is the push. His main clothing is basically what all Jedi Guardians wear. He is a Form 3 lightsaber combatant, focusing primarily on defense, but throwing in moves from Shi-Cho, Ataru, and Niman from time to time. His ability as a Force user is average, and his lightsaber combat is well known as the greatest Form 3 practitioner of the era. But compared to the best of the era, he wasn't as impressive with raw skill.

His most impressive attribute was giving himself over to the Force and putting his complete faith in it. He is my 9th favorite Jedi of his era, and I believe him to be the 18th strongest Jedi of his era.

2 Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. He is portrayed by Frank Oz.

Most powerful. Obi-Wan shouldn't be above him. He is the wisest Jedi ever and one of the strongest ever. He had 900 years to grow his power. He only lost to the Senate because the Senate had the high ground. Also, the fact he didn't underestimate the high ground proves how wise he is. He disarmed the Senate.

Obi-Wan's best feat is defeating Anakin. Yoda's best feat is disarming the Senate, who killed 2 Jedi in a couple of seconds. Obi-Wan survived Order 66 only because he and his lizard had the high ground over Cody. Yoda survived because he sensed the clones were about to kill him, so he is therefore stronger in the Force. Even Ki-Adi-Mundi sensed Order 66, but Obi-Wan couldn't. Yoda beat Dooku, who could penetrate Obi-Wan's Force shields, so therefore he could use the Force to drag Obi-Wan off the high ground.

I get Luke turned Vader back to the light, but only because he's his son, so Vader cared about him. Otherwise, Luke couldn't have been able to do it. Yoda wasn't in charge of the Jedi Order for nothing.

3 Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He appears in the original trilogy as a main and pivotal antagonist serving the Galactic Empire, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are the focus of the prequel trilogy. Agreed. Obi Wan suffered through losing his master, his love interest (Clone Wars, Satine), and many of the Jedi he cared for, yet he still didn't snap. However, a more powerful Jedi who should be able to control going to the dark side more snapped because his mom died and when he thought his wife was going to die. In the end, he killed Padme anyway, and Dooku really wasn't that impressive for those who bring that up because he could have just captured him, but no. Go against the Jedi order because of what the Chancellor says. Talk about peer pressure.

And besides, it was really Obi Wan who trained him and practically raised him, and then he just goes and stabs him in the back. Real strong Jedi, guys. Obi Wan even admits Anakin was like a brother to him, and Anakin just keeps trying to kill him.

4 Mace Windu Mace Windu is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by actor Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel films.

Windu is considered the best Jedi fighting with a lightsaber. He was the most powerful saber combatant while Yoda was the most powerful with his Force powers. Windu even invented his own lightsaber combat style that was so aggressive, it was dangerous for a Jedi to use.

Other Jedi who utilized his style ended up going over to the Dark Side. Too bad they used old Samuel Jackson to play him on screen as you never truly saw his prowess with the saber on screen.

Mace Windu was second only to Yoda in the order at the time and is arguably just as strong a lightsaber practitioner.

As a fighter, he was extremely strong, being able to come to blows with Grievous and Dooku on a few occasions. He practiced Form 7 and made a variant of this form, Juyo, and named it Vaapad. This allowed him to fight Sidious on even terms. Sidious is superior in my opinion, and the reason Mace was able to hold his own, and win, was that Vaapad allows him to harness the dark side energy running out of his opponent and deflect it back at them. So, the harder Sidious fought, the stronger Mace became.

Mace was strong in the Force, able to use it to increase his strength. He was so strong in Tutaminis that he was able to make his fists as strong as steel and punch through battle droids. He was able to not just use Force push, but the Force crush ability, and uses it on Grievous, crushing his ribs, and on many droids.

He is my 4th favorite Jedi in this era, and in my opinion, the 2nd or 3rd strongest combatant in the order at the time.

5 Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker is a fictional character appearing as the central protagonist of the original film trilogy, and as a supporting character in the sequel trilogy of the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas. He is portrayed by Mark Hamill.

Luke has the most character development on this list. He goes from a complaining teen to a powerful, mature, and outright awesome young man. He's the guy you just want to win. With the power of his father, the wisdom of Yoda and Obi-Wan, and the compassion of Padmé, Luke is just flat-out incredible.

All the stuff he has done at such a young age! He defeated his all-powerful father and later, the most powerful Sith to ever live. He blew up the Death Star at age 18 and becomes the most powerful Force user of all time.

6 Qui-Gon Jinn Qui-Gon Jinn is a fictional character in the Star Wars saga, portrayed by Liam Neeson and is one of the main protagonists in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Without Jinn, there would be no redemption of Anakin and there would be no balance in the Force. Jinn taught Yoda and Obi-Wan how to become Force ghosts. Without Luke having communication with Ben's ghost, his training would never be complete and he was the only one strong enough to face Vader.

The Empire would have crushed the rebellion with Sidious and Vader, and the galaxy would be lost.

Truly the most peaceful of the Jedi, and even though he disagreed with the council many times, he was right in believing that Anakin was the chosen one. He was also the first Jedi in history to become one with the Force. The other Jedi are skillful like Yoda and Kenobi, but none had the same connection to the Force as Qui-Gon.

7 Plo Koon Plo Koon is a fictional Jedi Master who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014; 2020).

Plo Koon is a lifetime council member on the Jedi High Council and is known to have been good friends with Qui-Gon Jinn. He is best known for his lightsaber abilities, notably for fending off the Sith assassin Asajj Ventress with a broken arm and coming to even blows with the Sith apprentice Savage Opress. He was an ace pilot, only being outclassed by Saesee Tiin and Anakin Skywalker. His Force abilities were average, but it should be noted he can survive in a void. He is my 7th favorite Jedi and is likely a stronger combatant than Fisto, so worthy of being in the top 10, maybe 6th or 5th in the order at the time.

8 Kit Fisto Kit Fisto is a Jedi from the Star Wars universe. A Nautolan Jedi, Kit Fisto appeared in Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge Of the Sith, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014; 2020).

He nearly killed General Grievous while battling Magna Guards, one of the last Jedi (besides Mace Windu) to not get killed by the Emperor. There is a rumor that he could have survived because if you look closely, very closely, his body won't be on the ground in Revenge of the Sith. He can breathe underwater, smiles even if he is about to die, has an awesome lightsaber, is wise, survived the Battle of Mon Cala, survived the Battle of Geonosis, held his own against Emperor Palpatine for a while, and he battled C-3PO/battle droid. STAR WARS FANS - He isn't good just because he was in the prequels. #KitFistoforbestJediever

9 Ki-Adi-Mundi Ki-Adi-Mundi is a fictional Jedi Master in the Star Wars franchise who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Greatest death scene in Star Wars. Has one of the highest seats on the Council behind only Yoda, Mace, and Plo Koon. Definitely underrated.

One of the strongest, wisest, and a great general.

He is on the Jedi Council. Cool last stand.

10 Count Dooku Count Dooku of Serenno, from the House of Dooku is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise, appearing in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as a primary and minor antagonist respectively. He was portrayed by Christopher Lee and... read more

He was trained by Yoda and, before turning bad, trained Qui-Gon. When he was good, he was a powerful Jedi, even if only referenced in the movies. I think he counts.

Probably the most skilled duelist... ever?

As a Jedi and a Sith, he was equally one of the greatest duelists ever.

The Contenders
11 Ahsoka Tano Ahsoka Tano is a character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas and Dave Filoni. Introduced as the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, she is a central protagonist of both the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent TV series. Ahsoka Tano was voiced by Ashley Eckstein... read more

Better than most of the Jedi in the order. She knew staying with the order would have hurt her more than it would help her, and she was able to find greater strength without them and act as a 'fulcrum' for the rebellion. Definitely top 10 material.

Unlike most Jedi, we got to see Ahsoka grow up. We saw the rash, snippy Padawan develop into Jedi Knight material. We saw her best and worst, and yet many still loved her, or else Disney wouldn't have brought her back in Rebels.

Not only that, but she still has the potential to be a Force wielder! I'd say she deserves a spot on the list. Maybe not top 5, but definitely an 8 or 9.

12 Revan Revan is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise and the protagonist of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Revan, who should be in the top five, is obviously one of the most powerful Force users in the Star Wars universe. I'm not saying he is number one, as he did fall to the dark side, but he could definitely beat many characters that people idolize as we speak.

For instance, Revan realized the Jedi Order was not the way to continue, so he left it and eventually came into hands with the Sith, where he started the Rule of Two and mastered basically every Sith secret in existence. Then, he was brainwashed by the Jedi and, now fully experienced in both sides of the Force, he met Bastila Shan (I'm not going into details on that), destroyed Darth Malak, another powerful Force user, and therefore became a legend in his own time.

13 Shaak Ti Shaak Ti is a fictional Jedi Master who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

There was a deleted scene of her being killed during Order 66. Anakin was ordered to kill her because General Palpatine knew she would be too powerful to take on alone. She was without a doubt the most powerful female Jedi and was well known for her connection with nature.

General Grievous made it clear that he feared her, and she bested anyone that went against her. Sadly, she did not have much screen time, but it makes up for that in the comics. Overall, she deserves to be put at least at number 8.

Shaak Ti is a great Jedi, skilled in the Force. She used battle meditation to help the Jedi defeat the Separatists and the same with the 501st Legion during Order 66. She has one of the highest midi-chlorian counts and is impressively skilled in lightsaber combat despite her abundant use of the Force.

14 Aayla Secura Aayla Secura is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise portrayed by Amy Allen in the prequel trilogy.
15 Satele Shan

Master at Battle Meditation, master at telekinesis, master at absorbing even a lightsaber blade from a Sith Master, trained in every saber form, and Jedi Master and council leader during the fall of Vitiate, responsible for the discovery of Tython, and the descendant of both Bastila Shan and Revan.

Battle Meditation, extremely powerful Force wave enough to bring an entire mountain down on Darth Malgus, and supreme saber skills. Before battling Malgus, she annihilated several Sith by "dancing" in a line, wiping them all out in just a few seconds. She was a no-nonsense beast among Jedi!

16 Yarael Poof Yarael Poof is a fictional Jedi Master in the Star Wars universe, appearing in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

Wise Jedi. He sacrificed himself and saved the lives of millions. If it wasn't for him, the Jedi Council would be no more. He was stabbed and wounded but still used the Force to stop a weapon of mass destruction from destroying Coruscant.

If you do some research on Poof, you find out he saved an entire planet! He saved Master Yoda and tons of other Jedi from dying! How great is that!

Poof should be in the top ten for being one of my favorite Jedi Masters.

17 Galen Marek Galen Marek, codenamed Starkiller, was a male Human apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A powerful Force-user who lived during the era of the Galactic Empire, Marek originated from the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk as the sole offspring of two Jedi Knights—Mallie and Kento Marek—who deserted... read more

He is not a Jedi, but his clone is. He has amazing Force abilities and should be a lot more places up. He can take on anybody ahead of him in this line and will make a great fight with anybody. He took on Darth Vader and won. He should be voted for.

He beat his own master, Darth Vader, then took out the Emperor himself and spared his life. Why, he even brought down a Star Destroyer by just using the Force! He isn't the best, but he deserves a spot in the top 10.

Galen Marek was undoubtedly the best. He is the true essence of a hero!

18 Rey Rey is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by British actress Daisy Ridley. First appearing as the central character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey is a scavenger who was left behind on the planet Jakku when she was a child, and later becomes involved with the Resistance's... read more

She's only a scavenger who has the map of Luke Skywalker. She was scared of the lightsaber at first, but she was very strong at defeating Kylo Ren, even though she was not trained.

Rey hasn't been taught how to use it. But in the final battle, I was shocked she knew how to use it and killed Kylo Ren. I bet in Episode 8 she's going to have a lightsaber.

She has raw power and can control it. She killed Palpatine.

19 Cal Kestis

He's the main protagonist in Fallen Order!

Better than Rey, that's for sure. Legit survived after the whole Empire was after him.

20 Leia Organa Princess Leia Organa, later known as General Leia Organa, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Carrie Fisher.
21 Coleman Trebor

Well, he did have huge courage when he attempted to defeat Count Dooku.

22 Bob

He is probably not called Bob, but his name is unknown as the only evidence we have of him is in some sort of Lego set which I have forgotten. He will be found in the Lego Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary.

23 Jaina Solo Jaina Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Created by Timothy Zahn, Jaina is the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa and the twin sister of Jacen Solo.

The first exclusive Expanded Universe character on the list. Jaina is so many hundred times better than Rey, not just as a Jedi but as a character. Probably has something to do with the fact that the EU is so many hundred times better than what Disney has been making.

Jaina's pretty cool, but she could probably only go up a few places.

24 Kanan Jarrus

This is a biased list. He could see more with the Force blind than he ever did when he had vision! He survived Order 66, trained Ezra to be a Jedi Knight, and sacrificed himself by stopping a stinking inferno with the Force! This guy is legendary.

At the first two seasons of the show, he may seem like a bland character, but his character really develops over time. You get to hear more about his past. Hey! He was even in the first episode of the Bad Batch! He is an underrated character in an underrated show.

Okay when he can see, but when he is blind, he is the worst.
