This list is plagued with crappy post-grunge, pop punk, and emo bands. By the late 90s rock music was facing a major drought in terms of quality bands. During this drought, the most prominent bands were very derivative, exploiting genres that had been expended of fresh, creative material. Bands such as Nickelback and Blink-182 were not inventive or creative, they merely refashioned the relevant rock styles (grunge and punk respectively) in away that their songs could fit into these genres by name only. Superficially, the music resembled that which was already so popular, but the ethos, the integrity had been stripped.

Rock music required a reboot. That came in the form of the garage-rock revival of the early 2000s. These artists created music that sounded so fresh when compared to the musical landscape of that period. They drew influences from the original rock & roll pioneers. This was a very welcome change.

Arguably the most prominent of these garage-rock revival bands ...more

How the hell are they not even on here and blink-182 is in the top ten? That's a disgrace

The strokes at 150? Fiuu, I was starting to take this list seriously

113 Poets of the Fall

Are u serious they deserves to be in Top 100. Their music reminds me of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, etc. They make such a peaceful and good music.

Come guys they deserves be in Top 20 at least they so amazing. They r the one who have brought Late Goodbye, Carnival of rust, Saze, Temple of Thought etc. They are like 21st Century's Led Zeppelin with a mix of Beatles.

Why they are so underrated they deserves top 10 position just listen to their debut album 'Signs of Life'Life' & u will know what I mean. After drastic change in music flavor of people they r still making some mind blowing combo of soul, alternative rock and soft rock It a complete heavenly feeling when u listen to them

114 Coheed and Cambria Coheed and Cambria Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995. The band consists of Claudio Sanchez, Travis Stever, Josh Eppard, and Zach Cooper.

Are you kidding me y'all? This band is incredible. Once you get used to the singer, this band takes off in your top lists of all time. The guitarist shreds, drummer isn't bad and C&C is better than anybody else of our horrible generation of music.
They're so dynamic too. Who else could possible create a comic book series and write songs based off of it? That's right. Nobody. So any competition in our generation? There shouldn't be.

115 The GazettE The GazettE The Gazette, originally known as Gazette, is a Japanese visual kei rock band from Kanagawa formed in early 2002. The band is currently signed to Sony Music Records.

It's sure they are one the the best Jrock artists, the world should know about them... They deserve it!

116 All Time Low All Time Low more.

All Time Low have quite the unique sound; a taste of Fall Out Boy, with a dash of Panic! At The Disco.
