David is definitely one of the best singers alive. He truly is Phenomanal. -

David was too much of a Lennon / McCartney wanna-be... Just nothing original... Iggy Pop always beat him to the punch too. - frank

It saddens me that Bowie is this low on any list

Ground control to Major Tom!

42Shannon Hoon

Had a unique and brilliant voice who sang with such a passion and feeling and was able to tell a listener what he felt singing a certain song. Wrote amazing true songs and each tell its own story just like reading a diary. He's gone to soon and is missed dearly. Music world lost such an amazing young talent.

43Meat LoafMichael Lee Aday is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor usually known by his stage name Meat Loaf.

Meatloaf had range and power that's rarely been matched in rock. He still can out sing two-thirds of the rockers out there.

He can sing 3 thirds thats how good he is - Greenday

Not any more, but NOBODY could have done Bat Out of Hell (the entire album) justice other than this man. Jim Steinman writes the most difficult pieces to sing, and Meat was his voice. Nothing more needs to be said.

He's a beautiful man with a heart of solid gold.

45Burton Cummings

It is hard to imagine songs of the 60's without thinking of the Guess Who fronted by Burton Cummings. Dynamic range, excellent phrasing, powerful rock growls and delicate smooth jazz vocals... The guy could do it all and he did it to some of the best time tested songs out there in Rock.

Canada's Greatest Lyricist. Burton has a vocal range that has stood the test of time for over 50 years! 68 years old and puts on one hell of a show. Should be in the top 5.

Robert Plant said Burton had the best voice in rock. He still has it too, some him live last week, outstanding

VERY forgotten vocal MASTER! But Burton REALLY got his handbook from Paul McCartney! - frank

By far the biggest range singer on this list. He can more emotion in his music than anyone I know and is a Fantastic lyricist. Arguably the best in each sector. What more can you want from a vocalist? So why isn't he 1st?

I fell in love with Dir en Grey after hearing Pink Killer Kyo's voice is amazing

Kyo > Jon Bon Jovi. Lets face it pal the only reason Jovi is ahead is because he is better known. Saying that Bon Jovi is a good singer and has some great songs but you will have to be a stubborn ass if you truly believe he deserves it. - Taloper

What band is he from? - Feirceraven

This guy needs to be higher. He can sing anything and make it absolutely perfect. Very few singers have his range and power. The crazy thing is he is better live then in the studio. He should be in the top 10 for sure.

This guy has incredible vocal talent.

56Chester BenningtonChester Charles Bennington is an American musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He is best known for being the lead singer of Linkin Park.

Chester deserves to be among the first. He is so good at soft songs as for aggressive songs, he has a powerful scream, as in Given Up, which is one of the songs that shows his potential.
The songs where his voice is better are the Hybrid Theory and Meteora. - TheGodOfNewWorld

Chester Bennington is the best rock singer of all time. He can scream so well that people can understand what he's saying, and he can also put so much emotion into his voice that you want to either start crying or start a riot. This man is one of the few people I truly admire, and I pray to whatever deity is out there that he has a long, rich, happy life.

For his work, listen to Linkin Park. He's the higher pitched voice.

My favorite vocalist ever! Chester is a great singer, but he's in this Top with a very low position!

His voice is amazing in Rock & Metal! In my opinion he deserves to be in first! Come on People, vote for Chester Bennington!

He is the singer of my favorite band: Linkin Park!

His voice combined with Mike's rapping is perfect!

His scream is Powerful!

Both solo songs from Chester as their combinations with Mike are awesome! - TheGodOfNewWorld

Why is Chaz so low on this list? He's got one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard, it's beautiful, aggressive, and he can do just about anything with that voice of his!

57Serj TankianSerj Tankian is a Lebanese-born Armenian-American singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, poet, and political activist.

I can't understand why Serj is not at least in top 10. He is one of the best vocalists ever. Just listen to some songs of System of a Down and you willnow what I am saying. Also, try Elect the Dead Symphony. His skills are just awesome.

Serj tankian has one of the most unique voices in metal and his new stuff today, Soads music really did catch a lot of people who didn't listen to metal to become metal fans.

58Hideto Matsumoto
59Stevie NicksStephanie Lynn "Stevie" Nicks is an American singer and songwriter, best known for her work with Fleetwood Mac and an extensive solo career, which collectively have produced over forty Top 50 hits and sold over 140 million albums.

Great vocalist. Unfortunately, her own songs are "overly mysterious" at best, in my opinion. But I think her vocals are one of the best of 2 generations!

A great voice. Worthy of the list for sure probably should be higher
