Best Ground Pokemon

The Top Ten
1 Garchomp Garchomp, known in Japan as Gaburias, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Garchomp is just a monster! Dragon Rush prevents the regretful water type moves! Mega Garchomp is just a monster that most Pokemon players have a hard time defeating Garchomp! Draco Meteor is very hard but fun to use!

YEAH! He is my juggernaut! I give him rocky helmet and ability rough skin to make those who hit him suffer, and good speed, hp and attack stats, and his mega evo's stats is very AWESOME!

Dragon is offensive to most types and ground is a pretty defensive type, so dragon and ground is pretty much an unbeatable combination. Favorite Pokemon ever

2 Swampert Swampert, known in Japan as Laglarge, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Swam pert is a tank and deals good damage to other Pokemon using his physical strength. His only problem is his weakness to grass type otherwise he is a well rounded Pokemon

It can just use ice and water moves and the others are dead!

Some people would say THIS is the best starter Pokemon!

3 Groudon Groudon, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Groudon is without a doubt the strongest ground type pokemon. Also it gains the title of the strongest fire type pokemon. It can hit hard and take a lot of punishment ands will even beat primal kyogre because it is slower.

He's one of the strongest Legendary Pokemon in existence, tied with Primal Kyogre and only beaten by Mega Rayquaza and the Mega Mewtwos.

Groupons ability makes water moves do nothing, it's fire type protects ground from grass, and it has one weakness(flying, water does nothing) and is powerful against a lot of types. Grass, bug, rock, electric, etc

4 Rhyperior Rhyperior, known in Japan as Dosidon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

It is pretty good I guess. It had it's up and downs but it is good. It looked nothing like it's evolution before it Rhydon though. and it is good.

Very good steel/ground type Pokemon.

Got one in Pokémon x randomized lv 2and I had it on my team until the end of the game. Onestly carried my team through the elite 4 and has amazing stats should be number 1

5 Flygon Flygon, known in Japan as Flygon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

This guy is underrated. At least put him in 3rd. Dragon Rush, Earthquake, Fire Blast, and Hyper Beam and you get a Garchomp killer. He is a BEAST.

Flygon just seems to me as the coolest, or at least one of them. He looks awesome and is able of learning several types of moves!

Flygon is an incredible pokemon and everyone loves garchomp and its typing well flygon has the very same typing.

6 Krookodile

Very UNDERRATED Pokemon. Ground is a good defensive type, combined with Intimidate, and with Krookodile having relatively good defenses, can take a few hits. Along with that, If you don't like playing defensive, then get Moxie as his ability which increases your attack every time he knocks out a Pokemon which can be certain since Krookodile already has a HIGH attack stat and good speed. To increase the chances of fainting a Pokemon, give Krookodile STAB Earthquake which does a lot of damage with his attack stat and STAB Crunch. He can also learn Iron Tail which shreds Fairies and Ice types, Thunder Fang to destroy Flying and Water types, Stone Edge if that wasn't enough, and can learn a few other moves of the Dragon and Fighting type. Krookodile even thrashed Dragonite in the anime! Although not a pseudo legendary or legendary, one of the best Pokemon in my opinion.

7 Gliscor Gliscor, known in Japan as Glion, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Highly underrated pokemon. Amazing attack, amazing defense, and decent speed, he can tank or sweep depending on your requirement. Slap on acrobatics (STAB), EQ (STAB), Stone Edge (goes well) and thunder fang (covers all weaknesses) and you've got a beast of a pokemon

This Pokemon is my favorite ground type second flying type before acrobat.

Cool design, Cool shiny, Cool competitively. This Pokemon has cool written all over it

8 Mamoswine

Just looks awesome, and ice is a good type to get them nasty dragons...

Mamoswine is an ice type, which is super effective to ground moves.

Every time I use him he just tanks everyone out.

9 Nidoking Nidoking, known in Japan as Nidoking, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

How is Nidoking so low? He's not the best competitively, but he's pretty good. He's so versatile he pretty much has the monopoly of a normal type. He can't run Sludge Wave and Bolt Beam with a sheer power boost! On top of all that he can evolve early and he just looks so damn cool! Nidoking deserves to be top 5 at least top 10.
.

This is only #20? Nidoking is by far the best gen 1 ground type both power and design-wise! Even if that's his shiny form depicted in the picture :P

Great stats and type combination. Also looks cool.

10 Torterra Torterra, known in Japan as Dodaitose, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Torterra is a continent, he can take a hit and dish it right back, earthquake for the fire types, stone edge for ice, flying, and bug types, and synthesis to heal. You can't touch Torterra.

TORTERRA for the win!
Stone Edge kills your charizard.
Badass, super easy to get, earthquake, stone edge, synthesis, wood hammer.

My favorite pokemon. A true beast with assult vest or a light screen set up bye bye. Also best looking grass starter one of the best looking starters period. Team Terra

The Contenders
11 Steelix Steelix, known in Japan as Haganeil, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Steelix should be in the top 5! No doubts! He has such great moves like earthquake, rockslide and hyper beam!

Wow what a Pokemon because it is evolution of mighty onix.

12 Hippowdon
13 Excadrill

This 'Mon is on another level. It's got great bulk and hits like a truck, not to mention its abilities Sand Rush and Sand Force that blow it out of the water with Sandstorm. I used a Sand Rush Excadrill in PS with a Smooth Rock and I Earthquaked everything I saw to death. I ran the numbers and the doubled speed stat brought its base total up there with GARCHOMP.

Hone claws x 6 + Horn Drill/Fissure:
Still pitiful accuracy but a lot better chance to hit the opponent.

Just use sand rush to out speed then swords dance and then sweep.

14 Quagsire

Great typing, great styling, great movepool, lackluster stats. But so, so much fun.

He's dopey and cute, but also quite good in battle!

15 Marowak

Woohoo! Go Marowak! So, I love Cubone. And if you guessed that I would also like Marowak, then you are correct. I've been a fan of Marowak ever since I played a game on ROBLOX called Project: Pokemon. I traded a guy my Machoke for a level 100 Marowak with the attacks Focus Slam, Bonemerang, Bone Rush, and Rock Tomb. I thought, "He's just a Marowak, I mean, he can't be THAT good." But I was dead wrong when I used him to defeat Blaine, and he killed EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS Pokemon. So, based on this experience, I highly suggest that you add a Marowak to your team. He has a good design and is an all-around great Ground-type Pokemon.

16 Golem
17 Dugtrio

Insane speed, destroys with an earthquake, perfection.

18 Seismitoad

Zomg I agree best Pokemon is seismitoad because move set for fighting ghetsis: drain punch, earthquake, surf and rock slide. Fight him at like level 50.

19 Landorus Landorus, known in Japan as Landlos, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
20 Camerupt

Camerupt used eruption.

The foes Excadrill fainted.

The foes Torterra fainted.

Laugh out loud Camerupt wins.
Camerupt used Earthquake.

The foes Steelix fainted.

The foes Rhyperior fainted.

It's getting a mega-evolution - can't wait!

Camerupt and swampert are my favorite ground pokemon, but I like camerupt's mega a bit more, since swamperst's is over designed, putting camerupt a little higher on the list for me

21 Mudsdale
22 Phanpy Phanpy, known in Japan as Gomazou, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
23 Donphan Donphan, known in Japan as Donfan, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

One roll out of Donphan has the power to knock down a house.. You call this power.. Donphans move set like poison jab and thunder fang can make up for its weaknesses.. This Pokemon is under estimated.. Actually this Pokemon just rocks.. It's a damn strong ground Pokemon plus its kinda cute too.. Proves to be good in finding certain kinds of rare stones.. It is just amazing!

Dohnphan is one of the Pokemon most deserving of a mega. dohnphan is a great sweeper and has a high offense and defense. Also, is Phanphy not the cutest thing?!

24 Zygarde Zygarde, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

In complete form:
1. He looks so awesome like a transformer.
2. He can surpass BOTH Xerneas and Yveltal (Both pokemon has 600 stats)
3. His base stats must be so high due to surpassing Xerneas and Yveltal that his stats are undertermined. It can be a higher total than Arceus' base stats?
4. He also has a signature move (Lands Wrath) with a cool name and 90 damage but weaker than earthquake and precipice blades :(.
5. The guardian of Kalos.
6. If the guardian of Alola destroys 75% of the pokemon's remaining HP, I wonder what Zygarde can do?
Zygarde Complete Form is the best!

25 Larvitar

It's very good when it evolved in to tyranitar,it's health are super strong and the attack and defense too.You should have one
