47Alice In ChainsAlice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist and songwriter Jerry Cantrell and original lead vocalist Layne Staley.

This band should definitely be in the top 10. Their albums have all been great and have honest and real song writing. Layne Staley's vocals were beyond amazing. He was a true gift to the world.

You people are crazy this band should at the very least in the top 15 if not the top ten if you don't believe just listen to dirt and jar of flies I mean damn laynes voice probrably in the top 3 greatist singers of all time if not the greatist I mean both those albums are completely flawless rock masterpiece

48Judas PriestJudas Priest are a British heavy metal band formed in Birmingham, England, in 1969. The band has sold over 45 million albums to date.

Too low rank for Judas Priest. Rob Halford's vocals and Tipton's and Downing's great guitar work alone should guarantee a place in top 10. That being said, they were also the first band to acknowledge being a "heavy metal" band so maybe this list is quite not up their alley.

Well, it's Heavy Metal, but still, these are Gods...should be toe to toe with Iron Maiden.

49Green DayGreen Day are an American punk rock band formed in East Bay, California in 1987. I don't understand this ranking, it's mostly Metal & hardcore bands who took the places other bands deserve like The Jimi Hendrix Experience or Lordi, they deserve a higher place for sure!

Answering to the bottom opinion - Lordi is more like metal rather than rock, so your argument is invalid that way.
P.S. Yeah, this top is consisting from people voting here, and it seems people like metal more, though metal as such is sometimes considered hard rock/rock, especially Heavy Metal, and what I see here is metalcore bands as well...that one is weird actually, because metal that is more under Heavy Metal is further from rock as such.

Jimi taught us how to play through those strings...

Without Jimi Hendrix, hard rock would not exist.

Only at 44!? Lordi is just the best hard rock band ever! Rise Against has nothing to do to do here. It is hadcore. Neither Avenged Sevenfold, System Of A Down, Disturbed, Anthrax, or any other metal band. This top ten list concerns only hard rock bands!

The best of the best hard rock band in the world

Why is Lordi this far down? Remove those metal bands & give bands like Lordi a place they deserve! By the way one of my absolute favorite Hard rock bands
