Awesome band, pretty much saved metal in the 1990's I love Metallica too but they only had one good album and a few good cover songs in the 1990's Alice In Chains were great too R.I.P. Dimebag!

Pantera is probably the best heavy metal band ever and they kept metal alive in the 90's better than slayer and Metallica

2 Blind Guardian Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in the mid-1980s in West Germany. They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Heavily influenced by Queen, they use the technique of overdubbing. They also incorporate large amounts of orchestral arrangements. Hansi Kürsch creates a huge choir effect by overdubbing his own voice multiple times in complex, overlapping harmonies. Thanks to overdubs and numerous backing vocals Blind Guardian stand out with a very dense sound.

One of the metal bands that kept underground metal alive - great musicianship and creativity; developed their own unique style and sound.
Their albums Nightfall In Middle-Earth (1998) and Imaginations from the Other Side (1995) are considered as essential power metal albums.

They are the only metal band I know that has been improving over time - every next album is better than the previous one (altogether 10 awesome albums). Similarly to other people, I'm also beginning to think that Blind Guardian are comparable to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in terms of quality and consistency.

This band had some great records in 90's with there best lineup they the all time classics rust in piece (still thrash metal) and the more heavy metal albums countdown to extinction, youthNasia, and cryptic writings only bad album was 1999 hard rock attempt risk people think of them more of an 80s band but the 90's definitely had there best lineup and a lot of good records

First of all: "Rust in Peace" is from 1990, so it counts in. If that metal masterpiece and best metal album of all time does not convince you that Megadeth should be in the top (alongside GN'R and Pantera), there are two next awesome records: "Countdown to Extinction" (1992) and "Youthanasia" (1994)... First half of 90's were the golden years for Megadeth.

An incredible band that reinvents their sound. Should be higher on the list.

Should be #1, best mix of technical playing and song quality.
