Greatest Hard Rock Songs of the 1980s

No metal on this list - hard rock and metal are different (I made about 30 lists on metal songs released from 1980-present, by year).

Don't forget that Rush and Pink Floyd aren't hard rock, they are progressive rock.
Also, Journey aren't hard rock.
The Top Ten
1 Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses
2 Back In Black - AC/DC
3 Livin' On a Prayer - Bon Jovi
4 Dude (Looks Like a Lady) - Aerosmith
5 Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
6 Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N' Roses
7 Hells Bells - AC/DC
8 You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi
9 The Final Countdown - Europe
10 Hammer to Fall - Queen

Favorite Queen song, and this is also very underrated. One of the best hard rock songs of 80s.

The Contenders
11 Here I Go Again - Whitesnake

I love this song a lot.

12 Take Me Away - Blue Öyster Cult
13 Paradise City - Guns N Roses
14 Hot for Teacher - Van Halen
15 Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue
16 Bad Medicine - Bon Jovi

I am surprised this song is at #27. I mean, it should be higher.

17 I Want It All - Queen
18 Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row
19 We're Not Gonna to Take It - Twisted Sister
20 You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC
21 White Wedding - Billy Idol
22 Panama

This features one of Eddie Van Halen's greatest solos and coincidentally, it was released the same year as Michael Jackson's "Beat It" which also featured one of Eddie Van Halen's greatest solos.

23 Jump - Van Halen
24 I Want to Break Free - Queen

This isn't exactly hard rock... the line for what is and isn't hard rock does move around a lot depending on personal opinion but listening to this and comparing it to something like Back in Black is kind of absurd. This is closer to a pop song than it is hard rock, at least in my opinion. That also isn't to say it's a bad song, I love it and Queen, I'm just confused as to this being considered hard rock

25 Ace of Spades - Motorhead
