The Contenders: Page 4
Please, 52? They played for the music and for the fans, not for the money like the majority in the list. They were raw, unique and took what the Beatles and the Stones started to a different level and created a generation. More the anything, they cared about the music. They were the "only band that mattered"!
Come on, they were pioneers in their chosen profession. Influential, some of the best and biggest alternative and punk bands wouldn't exist if not for the Clash. Especially Rancid, and the US. Bombs!
The clash influenced so many bands its crazy such as U2, the Foo Fighters and more. They also showed how you can mix punk with pop and ska

Even though he's blind, he's still optimistic in all his music
Pure technicians. Many try to duplicate, many fail.
Coldplay have pretty much saved my like- it's the least I could do to vote
I love this band, I think they are #1!
Definitely underrated in terms of his influence on pop especially in the 70s. He is the key musician that made the use of piano so relavent in the rock and roll scene, as before that piano was considered at best niche. Up to this day he continues to influence many musicians especially new talents to give them the confidenece to pursue their goals (one example is how he kept guiding Eminem, and also trained Adele to be able to sing live without getting nervous).
His melodies are timeless and provided lots of inspiration for artists who want to master how to create very memorable hooks. His influence on British culture has been recognized as he is the first musician to receive the Brit Icon award.
For me whenever I think of piano rock and roll, I think of him first and foremost. He knows how to really control the flow of piano with the flow of his singing and the matches it expertly with the flow of the song. Any piano pop song I always compare it to his works as the gold standard.
She influenced primarily all modern artist I can't fathom why she isn't in the top 20 or at least 30. Her smooth tones and not to me tion her acting career.
Her style and class still influence artists today
Really? She's not in the #top20 or even in the #top40? I really couldn't live without hearing a little bit of Aaliyah...P.S. this is the same person who did the first one for Rihanna... And you're missing Mary J. Blige...
They revolutionised music in the 2000's and help many teens and adults overcome depression and self doubt. They brought together people going through hard times and spread positivity and unity throughout their community
Another one of the greatest glam-punk/dirty rock bands ever. So influential. Johnny Thunders, need I say more.
Beatles. Stones. Dylan. Presley. Cohen.
