Top Ten Kids Shows That Were Good But Went Downhill

The Top Ten
1 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 23 years, and is beginning its 13th season. The show revolves around a sea sponge called SpongeBob SquarePants and his adventures under the... read more

As with many others I also grew up watching Spongebob - I remember when Spongebob was a cheerful, naive Sponge and Patrick was a charming, ditzy starfish - now it's just Spongebob being an idiot, Patrick being a mean-spirited idiot and Mr Krabbs overtaking Plankton in how evil he is (I didn't like Mr Krabbs anyway, but he's too much now). The show has really changed for the worse. Shame really...

SpongeBob had a good run, emphasis on HAD. If this show were made for adults, as it was clearly meant to be looking back on some of the humor, it would probably be better. Make this a no-holds-barred comedy series and it can hopefully continue on. Its status as a kiddie show only limits it.

The movie was a perfect conclusion, having it go on further is pointless. They didn't originally intend for a 4th season, so the episodes from that season and beyond had very little of the original staff, because they believed it ended and then moved on to other projects.

2 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

Dude stop you might be the one that said you would play The E.T. Game than watch this. This was once good but got bad. Worse than Modern SpongeBob

It originally concluded after Season 5, but after a 3 year hiatus it returned. It was a lot weaker, and it continually introduced new characters. We don't need a baby and dog and neighbor, the cast is fine as it is.

Well, I can be VERY thankful Butch Hartman ended Danny Phantom on a good note instead of dragging it on and milking the crap out of it like Nickelodeon's second longest-running animated T.V. series.

3 Teen Titans Go

Cartoon Network, WHY? You were so good at first. And then you replace the best shows in the universe with these stupid characters, they where once serious. And now you replace them with a poor excuse for a low quality T.V. show that wouldn't pay a cent if adults were the only people on earth. And what do you do next? You Make even more crappy shows! You're practically replacing good shows with these crappy cartoons! You make shows that make fun of disabled old people and children with special needs! The only good show they have is the amazing world of gumball! Also one other thing: do you even look at the Cartoon Network: YOU (when kids are able to make their own videos and the staff may put them on the commercials)?! I am %90.73 sure that these Cartoon Network shows make people just like clarence. I hope Cartoon Network crash and burns along with its stupid shows

Haha, I used to love this show season 1 was amazing! Then it went downhill from there season 2 is full of garbage the characters act pathetic, and it burns to see that it's also just an excuse for Teeth Titains ending

4 Arthur Arthur is a Canadian/American animated educational television series for children, created by Cookie Jar Group and WGBH for PBS.

The only reasons it went downhill is because it's animation became so incredible lazy whereas the older episodes were actually awesome. This show was legit my childhood.
Also, who the hell are Bud & Ladonna Compson?

It's a simple show with a charm to it, but if a show runs 20 years, it just starts to become more mediocre and bland. The new flash animated episodes are completely forgettable.

It has totally gone downhill, they should stop playing new ones, please! Just replay the old ones. This show was a part Of my childhood

Arthur used to be amazing. Educational, hilarious, and you never grow out of it! But it went down-

5 Sesame Street Sesame Street is a long-running American children's television series, produced by Sesame Workshop and created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett.

My favorite segments were always the ones with Grover as a waiter. According to some quick research, Grover hasn't served a customer since 2012. And of course, Elmo is in the shot every other second. It's not a bad show, and they have made some great decisions as of late, like introducing Julia. But it still has way too much Elmo, and they don't give other characters the time they deserve after 50 years.

If only Roosevelt Franklin was kept, then maybe things would've been different. And no, despite what people tell you, Roosevelt isn't racist. The school is NOT detention, if it was, then he wouldn't be teaching or having loads of fun.

I Think Sesame Street Started to Flush Down the Toilet When Abby Cadabby Debuted on the Show.I Miss When Sesame Street Was In The Generation I Was Being Born in.I Possibly Believe That seasons 30-34 Were Certainly the Golden Age of Sesame Street. However I Still Have So Much Respect for Fran Brill and Martin.P.Robinson.But I Would Still Watch an Episode from Seasons 30-34 Any Day Over Abby Cadabby!

I agree. Elmo is hogging all of the attention on the show now! Characters like Big Bird should get more attention than Elmo!

6 Pokemon Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title of Pocket Monsters and currently advertised in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series, which has been adapted for the international television markets. It was first broadcast in Japan on April 1, 1997, in the United States on September 8, 1998.

LOL! Why wasn't this on the list yet?! Ever since BW, Pokemon has been going downhill. And things got even worse with XY! Why ruin what used to be a good kids' show? Kids would only watch this because there is nothing else good on Cartoon Network except good shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, TAWOG, or We Bare Bears. But that's it!

The reasons why it's downhill is because, the dub version messed it up

The Unova series took everything that was good about Sinnoh and threw it away. Luckily it got better.

Sinnoh wasn't that great and it was were the show started to go downhill.

7 Blue's Clues Blue's Clues is an American children's television series that premiered on Nickelodeon in 1996. When shows end it doesn't mean cancel.
Anyway I remember Kevin. Did you know he was never replaced. We had Kevin, Blue, Mr Salt, Mrs Pepper, Postbox, Sidetable Drawer, Snail, Bucket and Spade.
First episode - Pretend Time.

Steve was excellent! Every kid wanted to be friends with Steve! But Joe? No, Joe wasn't fun.

Joe and Steve are both good. It went downhill because they cancelled it.

I still like this show and LOL I thought Blue was a male/boy at first.

8 Phineas and Ferb Phineas and Ferb is an American animated comedy-musical television series. Originally broadcast as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007 and again previewed on September 28, 2007, the series officially premiered on February 1, 2008 and ended on June 12, 2015 on Disney Channel, and follows Phineas Flynn and his British stepbrother Ferb Fletcher on summer vacation.

After the movie the show was pretty cool, but after then they only focus on Candace and Perry, Seriously? Why do you only make a cartoon about them?

I still like SpongeBob! This show is what is really going downhill. They had an episode about untying a knot!

This show was great at first, but ever since the movie, it's been no good at all.

Best cartoon ever! They stopped it before it got bad... IT WAS NEVER BAD!

9 The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-Australian-German-American-Irish children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network.

Season 3 was the magical season. It's still good, but seasons 1 and 2 were way better. They even said "#swag"! The words are fine individually, but still!

I once saw a leaked video of Gumball doing the floss. I can't believe the bar has dropped this low.

First and second seasons were good, but the show went downhill after that.

First season was good, then the: "Epic situations with lot of memes, cringey humor" came, and everything went downhill.

10 Annoying Orange

The internet series was actually pretty funny. But the show on CN ruined it.

He used to be HILARIOUS now his become boring

There was nothing good about this.

The Contenders

First of all, it's not a kids show! Second of all, it was NEVER good to begin with!

Its an adult cartoon but its immature enough to be a kids cartoon.

Um, this isn't a kid show.

14 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated children's television series based on the fourth incarnation of Hasbro's My Little Pony franchise. The show follows a studious unicorn (later an alicorn) pony named Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong) and her friends Applejack (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (Tabitha St. Germain), Fluttershy (Andrea Libman), Rainbow Dash (Ball), Pinkie Pie (Libman), and dragon assistant Spike (Cathy Weseluck). They travel on adventures and help others around Equestria while solving problems that arise in their own friendships.

Make No Mistake. My Little Pony is By Far the Greatest Modern Cartoon in Existence. In Fact it's Probably The ONLY GOOD Modern Cartoon We've Got.I'm Not Really a Fan of Adventure Time,Gravity Falls or Steven Universe or Others because I
Think They Seem Like Seriously Stupid Ideas. My Little Pony is None of that. It's Bright,it's Colorful,It's Dramatic,It's Heartwarming,It's Got Everything a Modern Cartoon SHOULD Have! Even Though it Is Made For Little Girls. But That's Not The Only Reason it's Great. There's Just This Really Sense and Emotion to It That Makes these Characters So Sweet and Nice that Really Enjoy Spending Time With Them.I Really Like Shows Like That,They're Never Mean Spirited and They Always Know How Teach Other How to a Good Friend. This Is Definitely a Thrilling Adventure through Equestria That'll Never End.

This show was good until Rebecca Sugar left. Then, it just downright weird, stupid plots (At least Jake the Brick was good), and no humor. The last episode before it went downhill was BMO Lost. Then, it became extremely boring and stupid. Season 5 was the magical season when it happened.

18 VeggieTales VeggieTales is an American series of direct-to-video children's computer animated films created by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki featuring antropomorphic fruits and vegetables in stories conveying moral themes based on Christianity

After the Pirates movie, this show became bad... just bad!

This show has an anime spinoff made in Japan, three specials, a movie in theatres, and a reboot. The show aired from 1998 to 2005.

The first seasons of this show were great, then in season 4, it got really bland and dull. Though I'd still watch it more than the reboot any day.

The reboot ruined the show itself.

20 The Loud House The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. Laugh tracks one of the biggest blame in sitcoms, just ignore them its easy to do.

It went downhill from the first episode because of the laugh tracks.
