Best Metal Albums of 1977-1979

The Top Ten
1 Stained Class - Judas Priest

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, and expecting different results. Just say NO to metal. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

I definitely agree with Stained Class at #1. Judas Priest were praised for eventually getting a "purely" metal sound by "discarding much of its blues influence".

2 Long Live Rock N Roll - Rainbow
3 Overkill - Motörhead
4 Taken by Force - Scorpions
5 Killing Machine - Judas Priest
6 Accept - Accept
7 Never Say Die - Black Sabbath
8 Van Halen - Van Halen
9 Sin After Sin - Judas Priest

I would put this higher than Never Say Die by Black Sabbath. Never Say Die was one of the worst Black Sabbath albums ever. Sin After Sin wasn't among the best Judas Priest albums but at least "Dissident Aggressor" was on this album - a pretty good song, related to speed and thrash metal. Even though the intro reminds a lot of Highway Star by Deep Purple I still love and appreciate this song.
