Top 10 Most Dramatic Songs

We all know the definition of dramatic, so here are the top 10 songs that would go with a milestone in a drama movie, the top 10 dramatic songs. (Song - Artist)
The Top Ten
1 How to Save a Life - The Fray

I just like it! It catches my attention quickly, very touching and, frankly speaking, it gives more passion and eventually more feelings with the tone of the voice and the way it was written... Thank you!

It's tough to analyze these lyrics, but it doesn't make the bare words not dramatic and depressing. The musical content is also something obviously written and performed with loads of passion and feeling.

I have listened to this song for years, and I love it!

2 The Rains of Castamere - Jackie Evancho

Dramatic, dark, and haunting song from "Game Of Thrones". Released as a downloadable single in June of 2014, and scheduled for her album "Awakening" in September 2014.

This young lady just keeps pushing the bar up...

3 The Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin

Along with being dramatic, the song is just so sad, and should be on all these people's "Top 10 Saddest Songs" lists. I mean, not only does it sound sad, but its lyrics are, just, tear-jerking. This song is about a man whose love dies, and when he looks into her diary after her death, he realizes she never even thought of him. This was supposed to be his girlfriend, and she was going behind his back and never wrote a thing about him. Double-heartbreak right there, automatic spot on this list.

4 Dango Daikazoku - Chata

This song comes from a wonderful series, Clannad. A show that sums up to be a great example of what family should mean, accepting the lives you have, whether they are happy or sad. The English translation talks about a large dumpling family forming a ring and rounding up their happy and sad times. It really gives off this important meaning with a cheerful and somewhat child-like tone.

If you were to make sense of the English translation to this song, it would simply be about happiness. This song just goes so well with the show it's from, Clannad, giving us the feeling of taking life as it comes, and being happy with it. That's just what the show is about, life, and if you haven't seen it, watch the whole series, it's brilliantly amazing, and this song reflects that.

5 Everchanging - Rise Against

Only Rise Against can make the most overdone song topic, a breakup, still sound heartbreaking. The dramatic effect is best in the acoustic version of this song because of the lead singer's real raw emotion.

6 The Moment I Said It - Imogen Heap

Absolutely amazing. I can't get enough of Imogen.

7 The Only Exception - Paramore
8 Lovers - Jackie Evancho

Title theme from "House of Flying Daggers". See the YouTube video of her PBS Great Performances "Dream With Me - In Concert". Just search for Evancho Lovers.

Jackie performs this at every concert, and it is always astonishingly jaw-dropping.

9 Breath - Breaking Benjamin

A break-up song not quite as good or dramatic in lyrics as a certain other break-up song on this list, but it sure is very dramatic in musical quality.

Easy to relate to. Breaking Benjamin have taken an overdone topic and done it in a completely different way - unique, genius.

10 Hide and Seek - Imogen Heap

As a song about time going by, this is a VERY dramatic song. No instrumental, just layered vocals. The second verse gives me goosebumps.

The Contenders
11 My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion

This is one of my favorite songs of all time!

12 Lost - Avenged Sevenfold

Just, the chorus is an anthem. An anthem of inspiring, upbeat drama.

This song makes me happy every time I listen to it.

13 Dream On - Aerosmith

"Dream On" by Aerosmith is a most extreme case of dramatic music. It will be played forever. This music actually falls into several popular categories and will be timeless.

14 Desperate Times, Desperate Measures - Underoath

Pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, man. Drama recipe for this song.

15 Karma Killer - Robbie Williams
16 Dramatic Song - Toby Turner

This used to be my favorite song. Especially because I showed it to my grandma, and she loved it. Haha.

Hehe, can't say I am not surprised this song made it here. Well then again, yeah, it was kinda dramatic.

17 Say Something - Cheyenne Jackson and Jackie Evancho

This duet was performed live at the "Awakening" concert held at Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia. Available on DVD.

18 Who Wants to Live Forever? - Queen

Love Queen and Freddie. Sad song makes you think. The music world will miss you, Freddie. Queen rocks. Hope all you agree. I do. Vote this up.

Do you know that feeling after listening to something that's incredibly magnificent and dramatic? This is Who Wants to Live Forever.

19 Pledge - The Gazette

Personally, you don't have to understand the Japanese language here. You just have to feel the music within. And trust me when I tell you that it is heart breaking.

20 Fade to Black - Metallica

The music of this song alone tells a dramatic and desperate story. Beginning with beautiful acoustic chords, and ending in a panic of chaotic riffs. The lyrics are few and simple, offering reflection that adds to the instrumentals' temperament.

"Yesterday seems, as though it never existed. Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye." Perhaps I would not recommend it to everyone, but rather to those who appreciate the art and philosophy that classic heavy metal music provides.

Also, if you enjoyed this song, it is worthwhile investigating when and why Metallica wrote it - I trust it will bring a smile to your face.

21 Not Alone - All that Remains

The chorus is the definition of dramatic.

22 Heart of Courage - Two Steps from Hell
23 Hello - Adele

The song's lyrics are so dramatic but so touching. And the music video is like so over the top.

24 Hallelujah - Peter Hollens and Jackie Evancho
25 Listen - Beyonce
