Top 10 Most Meaningful Songs

This list is based off of pure meaning and lyrics that go deep into your soul.
The Top Ten
1 Imagine - John Lennon

Such a beautiful and meaningful song. It's truthful and lovely. His words are inspirational and honest. Let's all live in harmony and unity, coming together as one. This is a song everyone needs to hear. Tears come to my eyes when this song plays because it resonates so deeply. The world is filled with hate, anger, and pain. If only we could focus on the good and appreciate what we have. What are we doing to this Earth? John speaks of political and governmental issues, envisioning a world without countries, heaven, or hell. But we also need to address issues like deforestation and the imbalance we've created on the planet. John was a remarkable man, and I thank him for sharing his thoughts and inspiring us. Love you..

2 How to Save a Life - The Fray

I felt something deep about this song just by listening to it. Then, I looked up the lyric meanings, and I was deeply moved. The writing is heart-wrenching and makes you question your existence as a friend or relative. Although I've never had any substance-abused friends, I feel ashamed for having looked down on and isolating people whom I've met and who have been addicts. This song doesn't just apply to drug addiction. It can be for almost anything that someone can't help doing and others don't approve of. It made my day and now plays on repeat.

I have been bullied countless times, especially in elementary school. At that age, such experiences leave lasting scars. This song not only captures how I felt but also encourages putting an end to hatred in the world. It's relatable not only to those who have been bullied but to anyone who has had a bad experience. The song also emphasizes helping those who are suffering, rather than passively watching their pain.

3 Radioactive - Imagine Dragons

Radioactive is a great song. It's very relatable. Imagine Dragons is an underrated band. They incorporate so much meaning into their songs. In this song, the meaning is loud and clear. The way they've presented it and the dark yet somewhat upbeat rhythm complements the song well. One of the songs I like best by them is Monster. It should be in the Top 10 of this list. I love the line, 'If I told you what I was, would you turn your back on me?' and the paragraph:

'Can I clear my conscience, if I'm different from the rest? Do I have to run and hide? I never said that I wanted this. This burden came to me, and it's made its home inside.'

Their beats, rhythm, and overall vibe are just so great. What I like most about this band is the meaning they put into the lyrics.

From a musical perspective, Imagine Dragons does a remarkable job incorporating the bass, changing dynamics (how loud a section is played), and emphasizing parts of this song. It gets your heart racing and urges you to turn it up loud. This is exactly what a revolution should do. Kudos.

4 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

Yes, please. This song is so true. If you just don't know what to do and you're walking down the path of destiny with no one to guide you, no one beside you, and you're lost, then this song is for you. When you lose hope and everything seems to be going wrong, listen to this song, and you'll relate. You'll know you're not alone, that there are people who understand out there. Who knows, maybe someday you'll find someone who understands you and accepts you for who you are. That is what this song stands for, what it preaches. And it doesn't hurt that the beat and tune of this song are addicting. I love this song so much. It deserves a much higher ranking.

I mean, it's Green Day... and this is definitely one of their best songs. Lyrical depth that really puts in words the feeling of being lost in life, alone and confused, not knowing where to go or what to do. It's a song that I feel everyone can relate to at least a little bit at some point in their life, and that really comes with a sense of understanding. It's just a good song that is great to listen to at any time. 10 out of 10 for sure. If you haven't listened to it, you need to.

5 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

The guitar riff is very satisfying to listen to. Additionally, the lyrics are about a lady who has bought all she wants in life, but she knows the one thing she can't buy is a Stairway To Heaven. It's a great song that will stand the test of time.

Although I do agree with Imagine as being number 1, this should definitely be second. This song is beautiful, full of meaning, and I would say it's a masterpiece.

My uncle played this for me when I was really little and told me that no matter what he believed in, if he heard this song, he thought about heaven. He played this the night he died, and we played it at his funeral.

6 Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson

This song creates a realization of our reality today. We can't keep complaining or painfully watching people suffer. If others are just going to let this happen, then you have to look in the mirror and make the change yourself. We often talk about our society and all the bad things that happen without reasoning. That lack of reasoning is because someone didn't prevent it from happening. And that someone could be right in the mirror. There's a quote that perfectly represents this song: "Our world suffers a lot, not because of the bad people and the violence, but because of the good people that are silent." That's why I vote for this song to be one of the most meaningful songs created by the one and only Michael Jackson. No one will ever forget it, and may his legacy be passed down to future generations.

Michael Jackson's work carries deep meaning, something often overlooked in today's music. In contrast, artists like Drake, in my opinion, don't offer the same depth in their songs. I'm not saying he's a horrible person, but there's an over-reliance on tools like AUTOTUNE, making it hard for me to connect with the message. It doesn't matter if you think I'm wrong or harsh. We've never met. All I ask is that when you express an opinion, think it through. Let's learn from past mistakes and aim for understanding.

7 Angel - Jackie Evancho

Sarah may have performed it first, but Jackie owns this song now. Compare the two different versions on YouTube, and you'll know it's true.

It's a great song sung by the most beautiful voice in the world. Jackie is now only 15. What great things will she achieve in the next 5 to 10 years? We'll wait and see.

It's pretty heavy stuff for the young lady, but she melts your heart when she sings it.

8 2 Become 1 - Spice Girls
9 Skyscraper - Demi Lovato

I really like this song! It helps me A LOT! I feel so much better after listening to it. Demi is incredibly strong. She has faced hardships and yet she perseveres and bounces back. I'm not saying she's better than others, but she definitely deserves recognition.

Demi Lovato is my inspiration. I'm alive today because of her love and honesty. I love her so much. She is my role model. She is incredibly strong. Without her, I would be dead. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. She saved my life. She's my angel.

This song has helped so many people, including me, who have struggled in the past. Personally, I listen to this song whenever I feel down or unsatisfied with my personal limits. I believe this is one of Demi's best songs.

10 About You Now - Miranda Cosgrove
The Contenders
11 Wings - Macklemore

This song is about how people let objects possess them. They believe that something like a pair of shoes will make them successful and popular. However, in the end, "it's just another pair of shoes." What you wear and your popularity does not matter. It's a beautiful and impactful song.

This song is more than beautiful. It showcases how society has become cruel. Everyone seems to care about being popular and rich, even though these things are not truly important. The lyrics are great.

When you think of Macklemore, you probably think of "Thrift Shop." Let me clarify, that song is a joke. But this song, "Wings," is different. It's genuine music. It evokes emotions, the way music is intended to.

12 Somewhere - Jackie Evancho

At age 14, Jackie sang "Somewhere" at the National Memorial Day concert in DC. It was a poignant and profound performance that left many in tears.

13 Someday - Jackie Evancho

Jackie sings an optimistic song backed up by a children's choir. It is available as a bonus track on the Special Edition of "Dream With Me."

14 What a Wonderful World - Jackie Evancho
15 Seize the Day - Avenged Sevenfold

Their songs are the best. I promise you that they are not like others. They're unique in their way. The first time I heard this song was a few years ago, and I instantly fell in love with it even though I don't like the genre. But as I listened to it more, I realized that bands like them write meaningful lyrics. Some of their songs even help people who are suicidal.

Time is the only thief against which we can seek justice. This song taught me to SEIZE THE DAY.

Amazing song. A7x produces some original and incredible music.

16 Mrs. Potato Head - Melanie Martinez

A song about modern society. Young girls often suffer from society's twisted beauty beliefs and unreachable standards. This song displays the mind of a girl going through plastic surgeries to look beautiful because her "sugar daddy" told her to do so. When it goes wrong or when he finds another, younger girl, he forgets about her and she's forever labeled as plastic, ugly, and fake.

Okay, so this song. WOW. It has some deep meaning behind it. "Kids forever, baby soft skin turns into leather, don't be dramatic it's only some plastic, no one will love you if you're unattractive." Dang, that's heavy. And, by the way, her whole album "Crybaby" is AWESOME! I highly recommend both this song and the entire album.

I have been listening to this song for years, and every song of hers uses a child's toy or game and infuses a deep meaning into it.

17 Never Too Late - Three Days Grace

This song is very emotional and touching, especially to those with a heart. It is also very comforting. I can remember listening to this song when I was much younger, and it can still make me cry today.

I think this song should be ranked higher. It has given many people hope when they felt they had none left.

Such an emotional song... one of my all-time absolute favorites.

18 American Pie - Don McLean

Many individuals fail to recognize the event to which this song alludes. They overlook the profound message of the track and the inherent sadness it conveys.

I am deeply disappointed with this list. American Pie deserves a higher ranking. The fact that this list is predominantly filled with Michael Jackson songs while this masterpiece sits at number 46 is truly disheartening.

This song reflects on the tragic accident that took the lives of three iconic singers: The Big Bopper, Buddy Holly, and Ritchie Valens. It's a poignant piece.

19 Fiction - Avenged Sevenfold

Last words written and sung by the man called Jimmy O'Sullivan before he died. Respect.

20 Hell Above - Pierce the Veil

Not only is Pierce The Veil an amazing band, but they're also really down to Earth. I met them at the World Tour, and they were great live. This song was the opener and it was amazing live. You could tell this song held a special place for Vic (the lead singer, if some of you don't know), and that's honestly the best part about the band. It's wonderful knowing these words hold meaning to them, and that we can all relate to them in one way or another. Never judge Pierce The Veil by their style. They're one of a kind.

Pierce The Veil is a very inspiring band. They helped me through a lot in the past, and they deserve to be voted for. I will never stop listening to them. And for the people who judge rock/metal, it isn't "screamo." You don't even listen to the lyrics. Those lyrics speak out to people who are going through what the song is describing. Don't judge what you don't understand.

Bands like Pierce the Veil make a difference in people. Unlike many of the songs teens and young adults listen to today, Pierce the Veil actually has a purpose and talks about things people have been through. They have saved many people from committing acts that would have ended their lives and made many others suffer.

21 Clocks - Coldplay

A beautiful song with lyrics that are more than skin deep. With hidden meanings and a melody that is hauntingly beautiful, this song should be higher up on the list.

22 'Til Summer Comes Around - Keith Urban
23 Goner - Twenty Øne Pilots

A lot of emotion has gone into this song. I dearly wish it was higher on the list, way higher than Icarly or Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Every time I listen to this song, the lyrics and Tyler Joseph's voice get to me.

The best part of TOP is that they are always so meaningful and they have a story to tell. Their songs go deep, and the music is great too. Goner embodies all of that, tripled.

This song has a lot of meaning to me and many others. It gives purpose to many people, and without it, I don't know where I and a few others would be today.

24 Believer - Imagine Dragons
25 Beautiful Soul - Jesse McCartney
