41Cliff BurtonClifford Lee "Cliff" Burton was an American musician, best known as the second bass guitarist for the American thrash metal band Metallica from December 1982 until his death in September 1986.

Shows how much people know about guitar. Cliff Burton is a bassist, idiots.

Yeah he was an overrated guitar player as he did not play guitar. He played the bass and he was a good bassist.

Are you kidding me? First of all, he's a bassist and not a guitarist. Second, he basically almost played the lead guitar in their songs, he wrote riffs and bass lines. Listen to Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets and listen carefully to his bass lines and amazing rhythm. - Plonderss

Bassist, not guitarist - zxm

43Peter Frampton

I don't even know if I spelled his damn name correctly. The man was a joke. There were so many other great musicians in his era that it's hard to believe that "do you feel like I do" ever caught on. I wish there was a Frampton detector on my stereo in the car so it would immediately change the station before that noise ever started. And who the hell decided to turn that into a 15 minute live recording? As if the regular 3 minute version wasnt torture enough!

Listen to 16 year-old Peter Frampton killing it live with Humble Pie then get back to me on your opinion.

That is... If you are willing to drop your blinders & actually admit you liked what you heard.

What, why is Peter Frampton here?!

Listen to 16 year old Peter Frampton killing it live with his band Humble Pie, then get back to me.
He's a joke?.. Nah.. The jokes on you...

I'm a 30 Seconds to Mars fan but I just couldn't agree with him as no.6 in greatest guitarist of all time... He is a decent guitarist, not that great...

First of all, I'm a 30 Seconds to Mars fan... But I just couldn't agree when I see him on no.6 spot in greatest guitarist of all time.. He's a good guitarist but very decent..

50Gus GKonstantinos Karamitroudis also known as Gus G, born September 12, 1980 in Greece is a heavy metal guitarist. He currently plays with his band Firewind and Ozzy Osbourne

Really popular recently in the power metal scene, and his songs are really great, however he has a lot of fanboys/fangirls who compare him to a lot of greater guitarists.

Don't get me wrong, he's good, but some people take it too far.

51Thomas DeLonge

Easy 3 easy chords just power chords and treated like a guitar god when he is a billie joe armstrong wannabe another person who can't play guitar he also has a whiny ass voice which ruins blink 182 though blink was boring from the start anyway mark hoppus is a overrated bass player every body loves him when I am better at bass at him I mean look at dammit or whats my age again the bass lacks so much look at the chords your self and mark has his own signature bass screw blink 182 whether they are punk or not, punk does not always mean good blink 182 maybe punk back then but it was so distorted and unorganized and just plain goofy face it they can ruin anything

Mark Hoppus is good but tom delonge made songs I could play without even practicing.

54Jonny Buckland

I can't even bring myself to call him a guitarist - he's that bad! Living off the back of Chris Martin, Buckland struggles to "mirror" the basics he is shown (he's NEVER wrote a thing) - his timing live is dreadful too. This guy must seriously pinch himself every morning!

55Hide (X-Japan)

This really is true, He is just simply overrated. I don't care if you can solo or use B. C Rich Mockingbirds the whole time.

56Dave NavarroDavid Michael "Dave" Navarro is an American guitarist, singer-songwriter, and actor. He is best known as a former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and as a founding member of the alternative rock band Jane's Addiction.

Lol he's a notorious drunk-texting homosexual

Angus Young was on this list, but not this guy?

57James HetfieldJames Alan Hetfield was born on August 3, 1963. He is an American musician, singer and songwriter known for being the co-founder, lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter for the American heavy metal band Metallica.

He's better than everyone on this list when it comes to writing songs but not at technicality. He is the best song writer and he sings an plays at the same time.
