281 Gov't Mule

If you love the Allman Brothers Band, most likely, you'll love Gov't Mule. Warren Haynes who was a guitarist for the Allman Brothers, is the lead singer for Gov't Mule. They sound just like any other great southern rock band. The only difference is they produce music today.

Know for one hit, "Heat of the Moment". This amazing band is still making some great songs in addition to older ones. For starters I'd recommend "Only Time Will Tell", "Wherever You Are", "Listen, Children", or "Without You".

Their 1st album was epic - amazingly strong from start to finish. So good in fact, it made millions of people fans of Prog Rock without even realizing it.

284 Saxon Saxon Saxon are an English heavy metal band formed in 1976, in South Yorkshire. As one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums.

At #179 when I voted, how underrated is that? Great British rock band. Great songs about historical events.

285 Shinedown Shinedown Shinedown is an American hard rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2001 and founded by members Brent Smith, Brad Stewart, Jasin Todd, and Barry Kerch.

They'll get their Big Break one of these years! - Curti2594

286 Marilyn Manson Marilyn Manson Marilyn Manson is an American rock band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Formed in 1989 by frontman Marilyn Manson and Daisy Berkowitz, the group was originally named Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids with their theatrical performances gathering a local cult following in the early 1990s.

Marilyn Manson is so underrated! Everybody judges the way he looks and they don't realise their awesome music! MARILYN MANSON FOREVER!

People judge him and his band because of they're theatrics and terrifying looks, but they're awesome, so many good songs and albums like Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals

Amazing band! They had hits in America, like their song " She's Not There. " They should be inducted into the RandR Hall of Fame. If you go there, you'll see one the members, Paul Atkinson's guitar. Vote Zombies!

They're overrated for the stuff they're famous for but anyone that ignores smells like teen spirit, lithium and their other commercial songs will see that their songs are great, I think they deserve the regignition but for their better songs, in Utero is a masterpiece by the way

They're actually pretty overrated.

Overrated. Sure I saw Semlls like teen spirit on Mtv like any other kid back in the 90's and thought WOW but I think overall that their sound was boring and I got so tired of hearing the Kurt Cobain was "the hero of my generation", - ChatonNoir

They should be on the most overrated bands list

Had to search a long time on the list to find these guys. Absolutely love their style (especially their first album) but sadly they only released two. At least we still have Devour the Day.
