Top 10 Movie Characters We Didn't Want to Die

These are movie characters who did not deserve to die or kick the bucket. One rule: Only deaths that were NOT resurrected.
The Top Ten
1 Newt - The Maze Runner

Newt was beyond amazing. So many people quickly fell for him although he wasn't perfect. And that's okay that he wasn't perfect. Yes he was quiet and broken but that's who he was and we as people loved him. He kept the peace and cared about everyone. He wanted everyone to live their lives just like he would have given his life to save anyone of those shanks that he cared about. He helped Alby and Minho and Thomas everyone else to make sure they were okay before he was. He put other peoples needs before his and that's one of the best things about him...he cared. And thanks to that limp and blonde hair, he kept everyone together until the end. He was an angel without wings and that limp defines him in such a way where it hurt everyone. We all felt his death and it was a very tragic thing because no one will ever forget him. May the angel rest in peace. He was the glue and there's no question about that. He bloody inspired all of us

2 Mufasa - The Lion King Mufasa is a major character in Disney's 1994 animated feature film, The Lion King. He is Simba's father, Sarabi's mate, Scar's older brother, and was King of the Pride Lands until his death. He is voiced by James Earl Jones.

Sad, But I didn't cry. however, it is sadder than Charlotte, bambi's mom, and even Ellie, gramma tala, etc etc. He didn't deserve to die. Non of the characters on the list I just talked about deserve to die, expect for bambi's mom, I like deer meat!

Just because the character is fictional, doesn't mean we shouldn't care about that character. If we shouldn't care for a character because he or she is fictional, then what's the point of liking any movie or show that isn't a documentary? When you're watching or reading fiction, you're looking at a world where the characters exist. They can make you laugh, make you sing, make you dance, make you amazed, or make you sad, whether you cry about it or not. There are many people that can relate to characters in fiction. Judging by your ignorant comment, you must not be one of those people.

I cried when Mufasa died. I really hated scar after that. How could he do that to his own brother and his niece. Leaving his niece to greive so then he could become king like really? He was coldhearted :(

Well, if that happened there would be no more plot.

3 Albus Dumbledore - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.

Before he died, I wanted to see a battle against Voldemort

Well thanks for spoiling it -.-

4 John Coffey - The Green Mile

Always makes me want to cry. But I'm glad Wild Bill and Percy Wetmore got what's coming to them. They were pure evil!

I always choke up to this scene.

That part is very sad

5 Danny Vinyard - American History X
6 Han Solo - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. In the original film trilogy, Han and his co-pilot, Chewbacca, become involved in the Rebel Alliance which opposes the Galactic Empire. He is primarily portrayed by Harrison Ford. Han Solo served as the focus of the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, where he is portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich.

He is the best... horrible

Should not have died

I wish he didn't die...

I want to see Han shove a grenade up Kylo Ren’s ass in the next special edition.

7 Jenny Curran - Forrest Gump

When I fist watched this, I wasn't expecting this at all

Totally! I sobbed right after that part.

8 Bambi's Mother - Bambi

I clicked on this list because I knew this was going to be on this list. How could this not be at #1? This death had such a powerful effect, and it was a very bold move for a movie that was meant for all ages. R-rated movies don't have a death that intense. There are many people that became sentimental because of this sad moment. This death really hit home because it represented how tragic and unpredictable life can be.

This should be #1! When I was little I would always edit this scene out on the video when I made copies. Now with DVDs and Blu-rays you can just hit "skip chapter" twice to get past it.

It is much sadder than Mufasa's death. Bambi's parents were not dictators unlike Mufasa.

9 The Terminator/T-800 - Terminator 2: Judgement Day

I didn't even watch the movie Spoiler alert

I wish Arnold didn't have that chip.

10 Sirius Black - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Sirius didn't have a fair life, he was locked up for years in a horrible prison that sucked away all his happiness and then Dumbledore forced him to stay locked up in his old family home full of depressing memories for him. He promised Harry they could live together someday and it was heartbreaking to see Harry so devestated after he died, he was the only family Harry had left. Sirius didn't have a happy life and it makes me so upset to think about all the years he spent in jail and how when he was released, he didn't ever get to experience the life of a free man again. It also crushed me to see Remus's reaction, because he had three best friends and one of them died, and the other was a traitor. He only had Sirius left and when Sirius died he witnessed it, but instead of being able to grieve he had to restrain Harry. He never really got to express how upsetting it must have been for him like Harry did and Sirius's death affected everyone so much.

Ok, I usually don't cry during movie deaths, but this one was just sad and hit me in the heart. Sirius lived a depressing life in prison for 12 years for a crime he didn't commit and when he escaped, he promised Harry that they would live a happy life together and when I found out he died, I was like "WHAT!? No it can't be!" He could've had so much more waiting for him in the future. So yeah, I shed a couple of tears during that scene

That death was rare and ass and I thought it revived

The Contenders
11 Bing Bong - Inside Out

God my mom cried so much

12 Stoick the Vast - How to Train Your Dragon 2

I cried so hard when he was killed off. I love How To Train Your Dragon movies, I am happy about the third film. I am so sorry about Stoick, he was a good character just like everyone else in How To Train Your Dragon movies.

13 Jyn Erso - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Jyn Erso is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by English actress Felicity Jones in the 2016 film Rogue One.
14 Primrose Everdeen - Mockingjay

Katniss volunteered for the Hunger Games to protect her and then, about a year later, bombs that her closest friend designed killed Prim.

Pretty sure this is a spoiler!

15 Walt Kowalski - Gran Torino

He died like a boss

16 Fred Weasley - Harry Potter Deathly Hallows

Why isn't this higher? This was possibly one of the saddest deaths I've ever read. It was devestating to read George's reaction, and it kills me to think George will never be the same again. I knew someone who lost a twin, and when their twin died they were devestated and never acted the same again. Every time he told me that story it broke my heart. In the movie, the actor played it amazingly and his reaction, as well as all the other family members, was horrifying. It was so sad to see such a young, happy character get killed, and how strongly it affected all his family.

It was awful how upset George was. He could never cast a Patronus Charm again because his happiest memories were with Fred.

17 Leslie Burke - Bridge to Terabithia

His death was a mess, should not have died

Her death was awful.

18 Andrew Prior - Divergent
19 Coral - Finding Nemo
20 Teresa - The Maze Runner

Such an underrated character

21 Dallas Winston - The Outsiders

It absolutely killed me to see Dallas die. I'd only just seen Johnny's death, but the impact it had on Dally more than anyone else was horrible. It was so heartbreaking to watch as Dallas broke down, since Johnny was the only person that really mattered to him. Seeing Dally cry and run away was a shock since he was usually so calm, and when he went to rob the store it was so painful to see the emotion on his face and how truly broken he was. When the police shot him, hearing the screams from the other boys that he was just a kid killed me, and when his last word was 'Pony'... well, I don't think I'll ever recover from that. Dallas didn't deserve any of it, and his death is one of the saddest things I've ever read.

22 Chuck - The Maze Runner

Chuck was the top character in the maze runner.

He died a hero. He saved Thomas.

I liked that little kid.

This made me cry so hard
