They got together at ages 14-16 as "the Quarrymen", and really were not very good at all. They kept working at their craft, and when they signed on as a bar band at a dive in Hamburg, and later at the Cavern Club, they gigged hard seven days a week, multiple shows every night, for several years. The lesson learned is: practice, practice, practice.

They were teens when got together and had no experience but obviously had talent. "Majesty", the first track on their debut album released in 1988 is still one of the best speed metal songs, if not the best. But Blind Guardian got even better in the 90s, and even better after 2000 with epic songs like Wheel of Time, The Throne, Sacred Worlds. - Metal_Treasure
