Billie and Mike were teenagers when they first formed Green Day. Later, Tre joins them. In the 90s, they were punk rock but started to play alternative rock in the 2000s. They are the best punk rock band and also one of the greatest alternative rock bands.

Nu metal, alternative rock, hip hop, classic rock, punk, electronica, and even more. They used over 20-30 genres throughout their musical years, I believe. Truly iconic.
