Top Ten Best Non-legendary Sinnoh Pokemon

The Top Ten
1 Infernape Infernape, known in Japan as Goukazaru, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I admire Infernape especially Ash's Infernape becuase he looks like Sun Wukong from the Journey to the West legend. In the Sinnoh anime as a Chimchar he didn't have a great start in life whatsoever especially his time as Paul's Pokemon, the poor little guy was treated by Paul even from his teammates. When Chimchar lost in a tournament Paul released him still injured but Ash stepped in and took Chimchar as his new Pokemon friend. Ash really did took the time, paitence and understanding for Chimchar, Chimchar worked hard to control his awesome powers as well as his dark side, evoled into Monferno then finally Infernape. Infernape became Ash's powerhouse and loyal true friend. I would like an Infernape to be my Pokemon friend too.

I've been growing up with Infernape for a very long time when I first played Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. I like the design and it's cry in the games. It may not be the most durable Pokemon against weaknesses but it can sure dish out tons of strong attacks, it can even learn moves to cover up it's weaknesses. Out of all the 3 Sinnoh starters this ones on top of the list. Plus in the show it pulls off some pretty sick moves and went full on ' Super Saiyan in the show (*Cough* Blaze Infernape). Infernape is actually one of the most useful Pokemon to use in the Sinnoh region (And has been proven by a Youtuber named Eryizo). Since I grew up with Infernape, the Sinnoh region is my favorite region out of all of them. So I'm really glad this Pokemon came to be.

I like torterra more, but I ADMITTEDLY agree that infernape is better. Sure, it is by a small pinch, but he is. He is also my brother's favorite pokemon. Like MY favorite pokemon, blaziken, upon evolving it learns a fighting type move, which ANNIHILATES the first gym for both generations.

Infernape is easily the strongest starter of sinnoh. It has good attack and learns a ton of good STAB moves like close combat and flare blitz through just leveling up. Once you get blaze kick and close combat it's all over for all of sinnoh

2 Lucario Lucario is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Lucario first appeared as a central character in the film Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and later appeared in the video games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and subsequent sequels, also appearing in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated and printed adaptations of the franchise.

Lucario does not follow fashion trends, they follow him. But then he turns around and kicks their ***. Nobody follows Lucario.

The Manhattan Project was not intended to create nuclear weapons, it was meant to recreate the destructive power in a Lucario Aura Sphere. They didn't even come close.

In the average living room, there are 1652 objects Lucario could use to kill you, including the room itself.

The Drummer for definitely Leppard's only got one arm. Lucario needed a back scratcher.

If you work in an office with Lucario, don't ask him for his three-hole-punch.

Lucario sleeps with a pillow under his gun.

There's an order to the universe: space, time, Lucario... Just kidding, Lucario is first.

Lucario is the most awesome Pokemon ever! He can use aura sphere and bone rush and a lot of other moves too. Once I was playing and my Lucario was a level 75 and I was battling a level 103 Mewtwo and first Lucario used aura sphere and did 137 damage to Mewtwo and Mewtwo used disable and nothing happened. Then Lucario used close combat and did 163 damage to Mewtwo and Mewtwo died and Lucario gained 9 levels. I have had Lucario for a really long time now. I've had Lucario for 3 years now and he's a level 100. Lucario is my favorite Pokemon by far and I like Lucario so much.

Why is Charizard on the list? Besides the point, Lucario is an epic Pokemon. An incredible design, awesome stats and typing, even a mega evolution. It's op, I first got it from the guy I don't remember the name of as an egg. But I was lazy and didn't hatch it. Then I saw Cynthia had it, and I was like, "Holy! I want me one of those pokes! " I asked my friend and he said it was from the egg, so I hatched it, and friendship evolved Riolu into Lucario.

Truly the best in my opinion. He has been my favorite since I've seen it. At first I thought he was just decent stats but then I realized he's has great stats. But the thing about lucario is amazing stats and great move pool. The only thing decent about him is his defense but because of his type that's not much of a worry. And finally he was great in the movie he was in.

3 Torterra Torterra, known in Japan as Dodaitose, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

In Platinum, Turtwig was my starter and alongside my Shinx was the only 'mon I ever used. Even for Gardena. I had other Pokemon, but their levels were too low from chronic underuse. Also I no idea what grinding was. Example: My strategy in Heartgold was to constantly challenge the elite four until my Pokemon got on such high levels I just won. Eventually, I caught Giratina and used him too, though. But back to Torterra. This guy can beat both starter Pokemon, has advantages in the first, fourth, sixth, and eigth gyms, as well as easily being able to sweep Bertha with giga drain, and do some damage to Flint with Earthquake. Plus, I beat Seven's Metagross with my Platinum Torterra in Omega Ruby.

You just can't stop torterra. Even through earlier stages (turtwig, Grotel) the still lead the pack through gym battles and other challenges. Torterra has an amazing attack and defense, which proves that he is a force to be messes with. The moves torterra can learn and use are the best moves around, earthquake, synthesis, wood hammer, frenzy plant, and leaf storm. Those are the best grass type and ground type moves around. Another good thing about this is that torterra is the evolved version of a starter, so you get him early on.

I chose infernape for my Diamond starter when I was younger and boy was that a mistake. But it was my first Pokemon game so I didn't know too much. But anyway, I should've choosen torterra. Infernape has good attack and speed, but its defense is terrible. Torterra has super effective moves on both empoleon and infernape. It's the only sinnoh starter who isn't weak to ground.

Torterra is the best, and definitely better than Lucario. Here's a story one time right after my grotle evolved and learned earthquake my friend challenged me to a 1 vs. 6 fight against his lv. 43 Lucario ( my team was all 32 or below). I accepted and wanted to see Torterra in action so I sent him out first. Lucario used dig and Torterra used earthquake which beat Lucario in 1 hit with no critical.

4 Garchomp Garchomp, known in Japan as Gaburias, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Garchomp is mynfavourite Pokemon of all. His immense move pool and attack allow him to combat just about anything. Lucario is good but it has a 2x weakness to fighting, fire and ground which are extremely common types that almost every decent team consists of. Garchomp clearly has a type advantage and less weaknesses. Despite its 4x weakness to ice (which it can combat with brick break or flamethrower) its decent defensive capabilities alone make it a challenge to beat. Its Sinnoh's pseudo legendary for a reason you know...

Whatever! Garchomp is the best Pokemon from sinnoh. My Garchomp has kicked the butts of three of Cynthia's Pokemon including Togekiss, Milotic and Lucario. And yet three of my Pokemon did not enter.
My Garchomp finished champions Garchomp with a single dragon rush, sweeping togekiss with one shot stone edge even at a disadvantage and Milotic with dragon rush and dragon claw. So hats off to Garchomp. You are the best.

Garchomp. Gen 4's Psuedo Legendary. Yes, A whiff of ice and he's running for the hills.
But, the Dragon/Ground Combination along with Swords Dance and Stone Edge makes him one hell of a pokemon.
I'm a fan of dragon pokemon, and this dude is pretty much topping my favourite list. If his teamates can work around his glaring ice, fairy and dragon weaknesses, this dude shoul OHKO pretty much any Uber tier pokemon. This guy is a powerhouse, and not to be taken lightly.

Garchomp is my favorite pokemon. He is the best looking of all of Pseudo - Legendaries and he is a deadly force on the battle field. My Garchomp in platinum got me out of some super tough battles. In fact I used it to wipe out all of Cynthia's pokemon. It's level 100.

5 Luxray Luxray, known in Japan as Rentorar, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I've had my Luxray since it was level 3 and now it's level 100. Such a strong Pokemon, defeated many of my friends teams alone as well as defeating the elite four twice, without any other Pokemon. Also won all of the Super Contests in the game. Wouldn't trade him for the world, truly the best Pokemon out there.

There hasn't been a strong electric type for a while and Luxray came and filled the position. And getting him early in the game means you can create a bond with it and love it even more. GO LUXRAY!

This thing is around 6ft tall and is my favorite pokemon. I always loved to see my shine evolve into Lucio and Lucio evolve into luxray. My luxray at just level 68 can almost defeat my brothers team that includes many high
level pokemon including moltress and charizard

My Luxray, my first (that wasn't a starter) Pokemon sweeped the Elite Four. Give it a beast attack, and teach it Thunder fang, Ice Fang, Fire fang and crunch for some beastly results.

6 Empoleon Empoleon, known in Japan as Emperte, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Pearl Version. When I saw the 3 starters I instantly fell in love with Piplup. I loved everything about him. I wasn't to keen on Prinplup, but when he got to level 36, I cried with happiness! I was so proud to have a badass water-steel type in my possession. I was so happy that about 7 years later, I got another pearl version, and bred my own special amazing Iv's Empoleon. Plus, it was the first Pokemon I ever levelled up to 100.

I had a hard time choosing between Empoleon and Torterra. I knew instantly Infernape wasn't worth it (Even though that meant having a flareon as a fire type) But I realized I had Platinum and Diamond, and got them both. I just restarted Platinum and picked Piplup again and fell in love with how cute it was, how Prinplup seemed like he didn't care and how awesome Empoleon looked. I never liked Infernape, Grachomp is okay and I definitely don't think Lucario is #1

Seriously? This is the lowest of all the starters? This is the safest of all the starters. Infernape is just an ugly ripoff of Blaziken. Torterrra is a grass/ground making it 4 times weak to ice. While empoleon has 11 resistances and a few weaknesses that can be covered by ice beam or blizzard. Empoleon is the best starter in game and arguably the best special attacker and defender.

Once you train empoleon with great moves and get it to a high level, heck, even if you don't, empoleon is a great fighter. Becasue it's steel and water gives it great defense. If your looking for a great starter Pokemon, Empoleon all the way!

7 Staraptor Staraptor, known in Japan as Mukuhawk, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

A beastly flying type that can learn some fighting type moves as well such as close combat. He is quick, extremely quick in fact. His/Her speed stat is worthy of a medal and it's attack stat is something special, it can also fly you across the nation. Have him in my team. Insane Pokémon.

You catch a star raptor in the beginning. You train it to level 100. You begin worshipping it. You realize it has horrible attacks that are only strong because its level 100.

Come on. This thing can learn Close Combat! If I recall, most if not all of the other Pokemon on this list can't. This isn't even a fighting type!

Every Staraptor I trained, sans one I trained in Y, has been a beast. Especially my one that used to be in my platinum, but I moved over to White. Chip, you are a beast.

8 Electivire

Well my friend! I will be supporting electivire and before you throw him off Mt. Everest. I will ask it to dodge and then grab your Lucario using its fangs. And if electivire grabs Lucario by its fangs, then my friend you must know the future of Lucario.

I have never caught an Elekid. So why did I vote it? Because I know that Electivire is good at competitive play.

Electivire is the best. He can 1 shot the strongest mega Gyarados. He even evolves from Electabuzz. He is my #1

Electivire is good with Fire Punch, Ice punch, Thunder punch and Cross chop!

9 Gliscor Gliscor, known in Japan as Glion, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I don't know why it has such a little online presence, pairing with a toxic orb and poison heal is just lovely. he is so easy to sweep with, setup a coupla sword dances and you can start sweeping with earthquake, aeriel ace and brick break to fend of ice types. he has an amazing speed stat making for a tremendous physical sweeper. the only bad thing about it is that it has a terrible move pull through level up. but gliscor is my favourite pokemon.

Gliscor has Swords Dance and then just sweeps everyone.

Poison heal. Don't think much else needs to be said.

Ground and flying, can't beat it.

10 Gallade Gallade, known in Japan as Erureido, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Gallade is super useful! Though I do like Lucario, I honestly don't get why people think that it is better...anyway, I recommend teaching it Psycho Cut and Leaf Blade, those are pretty good moves for it. It sweeps through a lot of Pokemon whenever I do competitive fighting and many times I've beaten a whole team only using Gallade. Also, its looks! The design is beautiful, and who can't resist sword arms?! Gallade is a wonderful Pokemon to have on your team! :D

Gallade is better than Lucario, but not by much. Lucario can defeat a foe before they even have a chance to react, but Gallade is effective against more types and has less weaknesses. Other than that they are basically the same.

One of the best designs I have ever seen. There is just something about some pokemon that makes you fall in love with it just by looking at it. His stats are way above average and he has a very decent move pool.

Mega Gallade is insane. Teach it thunderbolt to take down flying types. Ghost types are tough for gallade though. Teach it Psycho Cut, Thunderbolt, Close Combat and Swords Dance/Power-up Punch and give it Galladeite and you basically sweep Elite 4

The Contenders
11 Weavile

Sneasel was in desperate need for an evolution, and Game Freak made this thing known. Ridiculous speed and attack. Give this thing swords dance and it can have OVER 600 ATTACK. Along with beat up, which hits once for every living Pokemon in the party, and almost a guaranteed OHKO ice shard after a swords dance. And why not have fake out for good measure?

Weavile's 4x weakness to Fighting and its thin Defenses are really its only downsides. It outspeeds almost all other Sinnoh Pokemon and has very high attack, making it one of the best Physical Sweepers out there. Pack Nightslash, Ice Punch and Poison Jab on that thing and you've got yourself a beast.

Weavile is my favourite Pokemon by far! Weavile not only have a VERY high speed stay, but great attack! So give weavile brick break, his speed will make him go first in a battle, and one shot from brick break should clean house in every battle!

All of you are drunk with Weavile here. He or she has extremely low defenses, so really any attacks that will normally affect it will do a whole lot of damage. Screw the high speed and attack. This Pokemon is a joke and should in the top 300, not top ten

12 Magmortar

This thing is a beast. It's a fire-duck with LITERAL mortars on its arms! It utilizes high special attack and a diverse movepool to destroy it's opponents.

Lucario is overrated

Magmortar > electivire

Nice ice cream head

13 Drapion

Come on, he should be in the top 10. He has excellent typing, looks like a boss and swept half of Ash's team in what was arguably one of the most epic battle sequences the anime has ever done. I've never in my LIFE seen a Buizel, Staraptor, Torterra decimated and abused like that.

What's more is that Drapion has the ability Sniper so if you equip him with a Scope Lens and give him a critical-hit set then I know that Drapion has a job to do... SWEEPING!

Drapion is my favorite Pokemon. It is to this date the only Pokemon I have IV bred an EV trained (well Skorupi to be exact) Story time:

He was level 60 when he defeated Cynthia on his own. With perfect attack and defense he worked his accupressure on Spiritomb. (First Pokemon of Cynthia) I kept spamming accupressure untill he had +4Attack +4Evasiveness +4Defense +2Special defense and +4Accuracy. Then I used a hyper potion and wrecked Cynthia with Crunch and Poison Jab.

I use him competetively with scope lens and Cross Poison instead of Poison Jab.
Thanks for reading,

-CosmoVortex-

This monster definitely deserves top 15. Most underrated Pokemon of the Sinnoh Region, teach it the right moves and you have a juggernaut, especially since it has a badass design

Though it is an underrated pokemon, this pokemon can literally turn team battles. IT's cross-poison is really awesome move

14 Froslass Froslass, known in Japan as Yukimenoko, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I have a personal preference for ice types, but she is my second favourite (after articuno). Plus she wrecks house and being from my favorite region sinnoh is a bonus.

I love froslass. As much as I love empleon and luxray, l had to vote for froslass because she is 37! And she should be at least in the top 10!

I just love this guy cause its immune to fighting moves.

15 Bronzong

Being a physic and steel type, bronzong is only weak against 2 types: Ground and Fire, but Bronzong may have the levitate ability making it immune to any ground moves or it will have the ability that will cut any fir damage he takes by half. And in sinnoh, the only pokemons that could be a threat to this great tank pokemon are Ponyta/Rapidash and Chimchar(and its evolutions) IF bronzong has the levitate ability of course. This pokemon has great defense AND Sp. Definitely giving it a great advantage to most attacks. This is not your normal tank that will go down with 2 powerful moves, but with at least 5 powerful moves making it a great time giver to heal your injured pokemon and himself. Bronzong may learn Iron Defense(increasing its defense greatly) and also Calm Mind, increasing its Sp. Atk and Sp. Definitely, making it even more of a tank! Have it learn Iron defense, Calm Mind, Gyro Ball/Flash Cannon, and any status attack like Confuse Ray/Hypnosis/Toxic.

It is resisful of most types and its only weakness is against fire and ground, but if it has the ability Levitate, Ground moves do not affect it.

Better than garchomp in some ways, with a good held item, nature, and ability, its beyond legendary.

This is a cool looking pokemon. Very unique design

16 Abomasnow

Abomasnow is a strong pokemon but it is not that fast so the best option to defeat it is to use a quick fire type. like blazican or infernape

Not a good pokemon if you ask me. Being 4x weak to fire is no way an actual good Pokémon to have in your journey. Trust me, it's difficult!

I can never get past wood hammer... :/

17 Roserade

A strong Pokemon, that I absolutely love, and though it does look a little bit girly, the high sp. Attack and defense make it a good addition to a party, much better than some of the "cool looking tough Pokemons" like marowak.

Just imagine. You are watering the garden, and a Roserade appears to help you. Then she slices open your undies. Looks can be deceiving...

Roserade must be in top 15. This thing is insanely powerful. Teach it Sludge Bomb, Energy Ball/Giga Drain, Psychic and Shadow Ball.

Top 10 worthy, best grass type of this region in my opinion and one of the only useful grass types ever.

18 Porygon-Z Porygon-Z, known in Japan as the same name, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Oh boy this thing is a beast. With high special attack and decent speed it's a great Pokemon. It's got nasty plot and tri attack which is a tough thing to deal with. Now I always liked the porygon line and Porygon-Z is pretty neat. I also like it's design, I always like namign it "OHTATSCWZY" or "Mentalcase" just because of those eyes.

Amazing coverage, scary special attack, boost up speed with agility, boom. Porygon-Z is a destructive force of... computer science!

It's crazy special attack can take out almost anything with only one boost!

Porygon-Z has better stats even outclassing ARCEUS for crapsakes! That's one awesome cyberkinetic duck alright!

19 Bibarel

He evolves from Bidoof. You want more?

Bibarel is the best HM slave.

He is a murderer

A good hm slave

20 Mamoswine

Mamoswine truly is a beast. No doubt about it.

Mamoswine is awesome

21 Hippowdon

It is a powerful Pokemon and ground types are my
My second favourite types

Hippowdon is underrated and one of the best ground types, he deserves to be higher on the list

22 Glaceon Glaceon, known in Japan as Glacia, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

It's design ia so cute and elegant, and Ice is my favourite type.

She is strong and cute! Who doesn't love her!

23 Spiritomb Spiritomb, known in Japan as Mikaruge, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Spritomb is awesome! However, you CAN pull super effective hits on spritomb like this:
1. Use foresight or odour sleuth on it
2. Use a fighting type move.
Alternatively, if playing generation 6, use a fairy type move.
Also, the sinnoh starters are kind of out of whack, read this:
Torrterra beats infernape by infernape using flare blitz or something simmular by torrterra CANtake a hit and OHKO infernape by using earthquake due to torrterra having decent AT and STAB and infernape's relatively low defense.
Infernape beats empoleon due to infernape moving first and using an OP close combat and another OHKO because of infernape's very high AT and STAB.
Finally empoleon beats torrterra because empoleon can learn ice beam delivering a 4x super effective hit

Spritomb is BEAST he destroys everything he has no disadvantages and there is only 2 poke'mon that have no disadvantages Spritomb and I forget the poke'mon but he has no disadvantages!

This thing is epic.

24 Rampardos

It's shiny form makes it one of the most epic looking Pokemon of all time. And it's really good with a choice scarf.

Give it Swords Dance, Substitute, Payback, and Earthquake, and this thing is an absolute BEAST!

Has the highest attack stat that is non-legendary.

High attack makes this pokemon a real threat.

25 Togekiss

Dissapointed that Togekiss is this low. What about air slash + serene grace? Togekiss is a great pokemon for any team if used properly. And the fact that Charizard and Dragonite are on the list is just plain stupid. Togekiss should at least be in the top 15.

Togekiss learns tons of great moves! And it has a high base stat total. Not to mention it becoming a fairy type making it immune to dragon and giving it access to MORE powerful moves!

How is Togekiss Number 24?! It's adorable, yet awesome! One Togekiss plowed through my entire team once.

Togekiss! My favorite Pokemon of all time! I mean, it learns cool moves and is adorable and THE BEST!
