The Top Ten

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
I am a Queen addict, and of course any one who knows Queen loves this song. And of course, it was the best. I love it a lot. You can never get sick of it, and this is also what introduced me to Queen.

3Someone Like You - Adele

4Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis

5Hey Jude - The Beatles

6Imagine - John Lennon

10Ernie (The Fastest Milkman in the West) - Benny Hill
This was a song that was released before political correctness became cool.
Funny little novelty song that got the Christmas #1 in it's year.

The Contenders

11Can't Get You Out of My Head - Kylie Minogue

12Back for Good - Take That

13Don't You Want Me - The Human League

14Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel

15Take On Me - A-ha

16America - Razorlight

17Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs

18Do the Bartman - Bart Simpson

19She Loves You - The Beatles
Not only did the boys have the most #1 singles of any act in history, they did it legitimately.
Most artists, from MJ, to Mariah Carey, to Madonna, engage in "track mining", where they go back time and time again to successful albums, and lift tracks to be released as singles.
The Beatles considered this disrespectful to the fans.
Had they chosen to do so, they could have had in the neighborhood of 70 or more #1 singles instead of just 26.
For example, "A Day In the Life", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", and "In My Life" would all have easily become #1, but were never released as singles.

20Waterloo - Abba
